Nice color, nice image, not too heavy. The only problem came in when after I used it for two weeks. I moved the PC-end of my HDMI cable from my PC to my Mac. So, I never touched the HDMI port on the monitor itself. And when I put the HDMI cable _back_ into my Windows laptop, the monitor went unresponsive. I tried another HDMI cable, same thing. No signal received, according to the monitor. I tried a VGA cable, and that worked. So, I put the original HDMI cable back into the back of the monitor again and pressed hard, and it worked that time. Over the next week, it became clearer that the HDMI port on the back of the new monitor was very touchy -- like it had a short or was ill-seated.

The best part about this monitor is the price. This was my first monitor purchase. I am trying to create a desktop set up for my 13" macbook air. Pros: -Price -Size - it is relatively thin and light -once calibrated the screen can look nice and viewing angles are great -So far I have no compatibility issues using this with a mac running 10.10.1 Cons -out of the box the calibration was terrible and all the presets were also terrible - and I am not a photographer or graphics artist etc. I know very little about proper colors but I could just tell things were off. -the base is basically unusable without some kind of workaround If you plan on doing any serious typing at your desk while using this monitor and your desk isnt made out of a solid block of wood you will have an intolerable amount of wobbling. I didnt think it could be that bad with so many 5 star reviews. IT IS THAT BAD. Luckily there are a few options to rectify this. You can buy a good vesa mount monitor stand to replace the stock stand. But this will increase the total cost and then you might have been better off buying a pricier monitor. OR you can find something to stabilize the ends of the monitor. I am using stacks of books on either side of the monitor to stabilize it. Working pretty well so far although I probably wont be able to easily access the controls or the on/off button using this method.
