This is definitely a great monitor in most ways. The picture is amazing in every way, no complaints at all under any usage conditions (gaming, movies, general use, whatever). However, I do agree with a different review I read about the speakers being horrible. Honestly, they should have left the speakers out. Even at max volume (and I mean everything at max: the PC volume, the monitor, the media player software), these are barely audible. I have bought incredibly cheap $10 desktop stereo speakers from the store which sound better and are MUCH louder. A good-quality $20 pair of stereo speakers would easily be better than the speakers in this monitor. Other than the speakers, this monitor is wonderful. Edit 2018-1-22: Monitor still works great. About the speakers, I found the sound was only as horrible as I described when using the dedicated audio-in port for a 3.5mm plug. If you use audio over the HDMI connection (I was using DVI & the 3.5mm input prior), it is at least reasonably audible. It still isnt great quality so I still suggest a decent set of speakers (Logitech Z313) if you want anything more than to be able to hear sound from it. But you can at least hear sound at a reasonable volume, so you would be fine without external speakers if thats all or more than you want. However, I dont know any monitors with built-in speakers which will ever compare to external speakers, so you shouldnt be expecting that anyways.

I bought this monitor for two main reasons. First, I needed 100x100mm VESA holes with at least 1/4" of flat space around them to fit my Amazon Basics monitor arm (http://amzn.to/2ABi6Qz). Second, because I was needing to move my monitor closer, to be in reading-glasses range, I needed a slightly smaller monitor than my 27" Samsung. I found when I got reading-glasses close to that monitor, I had to swivel my head to take in the whole screen. Id rather move only my eyeballs. This one fit both requirements perfectly. It has a VGA input (which I needed) as well as HDMI and one more, and had a very easy-to-reach power switch below the left edge of the monitor, for easy on-off. It was a perfect fit with the monitor arm, and now I can move the monitor to wherever I need it, very easily. Recommended. The settings out-of-the-box were perfect, and I have no complaints at all.

After reading all the reviews I was super excited, then the monitor came in. The picture looked very.... tinted. I tried my best to get rid of it (messing with the settings and whatnot) but in the end I couldnt fix the problem. Pictures just looked okay. You get what you pay for I guess. I ended up returning the screen the next day. I didnt want to convince myself that I liked the monitor, I wanted something that I would like right out of the box. If youre on a budget, by all means its a good (like an okay kind of good. The Toyota Corolla of monitors if you will) but if you have some extra cash, I would definitely recommend passing up this monitor for something better. How often do you buy a new monitor honestly? I use my computer every day, and if it comes down to it, id be willing to spend an extra couple bucks to make my computer experience better.

I purchased this for a 40% discount, so I factored that into the rating. First, the package was properly sealed with no concerning damage to the box and delivered on-time (2-day Prime delivery). It was delivered in the product box, so I wouldn’t have felt comfortable leaving it outside for a long time. The good news is that this was made known at time of purchase. The monitor has a study base and has a sheen on the edges and on the base itself. This attracts a lot of dust and also shows scratches easily; I tried wiping off some fingerprints from setting it up with my sleeve and it left several scratches. No big deal, but that’s not really ideal either. The inputs in the back are well marked, but the HDMI input seemed a little tight. The power cord is also a little short (probably just 3 feet). The icons for adjustments are intuitive and it’s very easy to make adjustments, which made the setup very quick. When I first turned it on and hooked up to my PS4, I needed to set it to HDMI as it was on VGA by default. I bought this primarily because I have a Asus monitor and it performs very well. Also, built-in speakers were important so I could enjoy gaming w/o more wires from external speakers and so I didn’t have to wear a headset constantly. The sound quality is okay, but I had to really turn up the volume (65/100) to notice the sound. Overall, the monitor does its job and is definitely worth what I paid for it.

When someone mentioned their iphone has better speakers, they literally werent kidding. When you read how bad the speakers are, you have to understand no one is exaggerating. I only bought this monitor to use for my PS4 slim in my office, since the PS4 slim does not have an optical out, I figured to get a monitor with built in speakers. It definitely is one of the worst speaker you will experience in your. Not a big deal since I frequently move my system to the living room on my big screen. So it wasnt a deal breaker for me. But lets talk about the good stuff. I like how you can connect DVI and HDMI and select between the two with a press of a button. Ok, thats the only really good thing about this monitor. On a side note, its kind of a bummer that the monitor doesnt save the settings between inputs. Lets say you want game mode for HDMI, well, you have to manually choose game mode every single time. So yeah that sucks. You get what you pay for, you have to come to terms with that. Color reproduction is sort of annoying on this monitor and it is on the cheap side, obviously, having a hard time trying to calibrate the colors to match my more expensive monitor. To be fair, this is my first LED computer monitor- it seems way too bright even when I drop down the brightness to 25/100. Anyway, as stated, for the price it is a decent monitor. For anyone wanting to do artwork or graphic design, what are you doing looking at this monitor, Im sorry baby, youll need to shell out more dough for that. Anyone who just wants to surf the web or play on their HDMI console (but not using built in audio), this ones for you.

This monitor was simple to attach a VESA mount to (not included) to add to my multi-screen setup. Hookup was a cinch, as it typically is with a computer monitor, and the connection options were a plus. I just wanted the cheapest 24" 1080p monitor with VESA mount I could get, as Im just streaming investment newscasts to it and not games or shows. I dont think it would be very good at gaming though, as it is built to the lowest viable capability, and the picture is neither smooth nor high-contrast. The most obvious shortcoming to me is that the picture is much smaller than the screen, leaving a big, glowing, gray area around the picture. The viewable area is 22.25 inches, and the distance from the corner of the image to the corner of the frame is about 2 inches. I probably wouldnt be as bothered if my other screens - though very outdated and lacking modern features - werent of good quality. If youre really strapped for cash, or the application doesnt require much more than seeing your desktop (like a server terminal), then this monitor will work, but it would probably be a better idea to get a used monitor of higher quality if youre going to play games or watch shows on it.

Not sure why some have quality control issues I guess its like that with most monitors but this is my second Asus monitor in 8 years ( my last one lasted that long with heavy use ) still works but needs warmed up for picture to become stable. Anyway, getting one with no dead pixels zero defects isnt easy. Ive tried all other brands that cost even more and they had dead pixels. I HATE dead pixels even just one. I refuse to accept a monitor that has any. Received this monitor, ZERO dead pixels, ZERO flaws anywhere function wise or external wise. Its also very light weight. Stand is super super easy to install with a quick release screw. I use the VESA mount so I have full adjustment on my desk. Picture is also very crisp n clear. Colors are dead on perfect with no adjustment. It will come too bright. Thats the only thing I had to turn WAY down. Brightness and contrast has to be adjusted but thats super easy. Thats it, great monitor!

Out of the box I liked this monitor a lot. Color was very good. Three weeks later, it stopped working. Since I had a new Dell computer, I spent 2 hours with Dell Support, before they asked me to try another monitor. Discovered the problem was a defective monitor. I boxed it up and returned it to Amazon. They acknowledged the return right away and gave me full credit. I liked it so much I am tempted to order another,

If you are like me, you need a good monitor (a bigger monitor) to be able to read the letters (as these smaller laptops) are more designed for someone with perfect 20/20 vision. Anyhow, when my last monitor broke, I needed an immediate solutions, so I went to my local WalMart and purchased a 24" Vizio (it was a TV - I did not realize there would be a difference). I hooked it up and immediately found out there was. The videos looked amazing on it, but because I use my computer for work, I needed to be able to read the letters. All of the letters were blurry and hard to read. So I went online, watch some videos and found out there are many differences in "monitors" and "TVs" mainly about picture quality. So I found this one. I just got it, and it looks amazing. Everything is so crisp and clear. Only downside, is the speakers. They function, but even at the highest volume they are not very loud. But that is okay by me, I needed a monitor, I have my own external speakers.

I am unlucky buying a monitor. After returning the BENQ I decided on this ASUS monitor. Just to find out the speakers do not work. The onboard Menu for screen adjustments do not work. So I dont know if the screen is on the correct setting. Ive hooked up both DVI and HDMI cable but when I switch toDVI you need to adjust the screen but cannot cause you cannot access the Menu. Ive been on the phone with tech support but of no help. Ive been to ASUS website to may be download an update but there is none. It appeared to me this Model is not supported on Windows 10. Now I see why this was a big discount on this model. Theyre trying to get rid of older model. The monitor is working though. I could have return this monitor within 30 days but decided to keep it sans the speakers and adjustment features not working. I wont buy this again nor would I buy ASUS product again. This monitor is a replacement to Dell Ultrasharp that I had a long time and just reached its life cycle.
