I needed a monitor that had more screen space, so I started checking out the lower priced 1440p monitors (2560x1440). I didnt want 4K (consumer level is 3840x2160) as I would need a better graphics card to really run 4K well. So 2K or WQHD would do nicely. I also knew I wanted a larger size, so that the PPI would remain close to the same size as my then-current 24" 1080p. I didnt want all of my text to be drastically smaller, nor did I want to mess around with font scaling. So 32" was the perfect size to keep a nice 91ppi, which is the same as my 24" 1080p. This AOC is a good value! AOC has actually been around quite a while; I can remember buying a AOC CRT back in the day. I know they arent the top tier of mfgs, but as long as the monitor was good, Im okay with not going top brand. Happily, the monitor was good. The only design change I would do is change the cable connectors from horizontal into vertical-oriented connectors; that could ease some strain long-term on the connector. Here are a few tips about the monitor: 1) You really need DisplayPort or DVI cables to run full 1440p. Your VGA and older HDMI connectors wont do it. 2) If you use DVI, make sure you can support Dual-Link DVI-D (not DVI-I). You must have Dual-Link to get the full resolution; single-link will not work. 3) Its not a touch or a MVA screen (per Amazons description as of Sept 9, 2018); it is, however, a nice matte IPS screen. 4) It doesnt have built-in USB ports, Type-C or otherwise; nor does it have standard VESA mount points. 5) I didnt test for color-calibration myself, so YMMV. Final caveat - Ive had two of these monitors with a single dead pixel near the top left, around 3" inches in and 1.5" down. Weird coincidence - another one had no dead pixels at all. But at the $249 price I paid (Sept 9, 2018), it didnt bother me too much.

This is an excellent general-purpose PC monitor with an MVA panel with picture quality as good as the AOC 28" IPS panels it replaced. Pros: excellent picture quality wide viewing – good as my previous IPS panel uniform field colors from edge to edge 10 bit – no banding built-in power supply – no power brick no dead pixels/bright pixels no light bleed clean and uncluttered design aesthetic perfect resolution for 32" panel – invisible pixels, no "screening" (IMHO) comes with 60" DVI and DP cables (also includes an HDMI input) autosensing inputs inexpensive – it beat the competition by at least $100 and in some cases $200 for nearly identical specifications Cons: fairly wide bevels (no larger than the competition, but still, compare with HYC Computer Monitor 2K (2560x1440) 32-inch borderless HDMI/VGA/DVI IPS LED sold here on Amazon) includes a sticker on the lower bevel that is difficult to take off without leaving heavy glue residue includes 2 physical on/off switches – forget one and you think you have a DOA Go to the AOC website for exact dimensions and other specifications. Otherwise, ask me in the comments if you have any questions EDIT: still going strong as of September 2018. The only thing I would change is that off angle viewing is not as good as my previous IPS panel from the same manufacturer. As someone else here as noted, contrast is diminished off angle, but colors remain accurate. I would not accept this in an HDTV. For PC monitor where I mostly sit directly in front of it, no problem. I still havent removed that stupid sticker on the bottom bezel. :-)

Excellent monitor if you want 1440p on a reasonable budget at 32". It has a great contrast ratio. Pretty sure the numbers in the description might be meaningless, but from eyes on viewing it is quite excellent. Viewing angle is very good and while it does take a little contrast hit when you go off center 20 degrees it doesnt take on a cast or color shift....just loses some punch. Backlight uniformity is good. Originally, when sitting very close tot he screen, I thought there was some edge uniformity issue, but I think it was the slight red shift which was more noticeable at the edges of the screen pre-calibration. Post calibration, I no longer see any issues here. I bought this for a gaming PC, on which I will play mostly strategy and simulation games. Total War, Planet Coaster etc....so Im no in need of seriously fast response times nor do I care i there is a little motion blur. Having said that, I havent noticed an blur or ghosting yet, but havent had a chance to test it in all conditions to this point. I do feel confident that anyone looking for this size and resolution will not be disappointed with this monitor.

This monitor is SUCH a step up from my old 22" Asus, and my old Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 has no trouble at all pushing the maximum resolution (2560 x 1440), Hz (75) and color depth from my Ubuntu Linux desktop over DisplayPort (using a new Syncwire 6.5 DP 4K cable for about $11). I have my work laptop connected via HDMI at max resolution (1440p), as well (using a newer 6 Amazon Basics HDMI 4K cable for about $7) . For $250, I couldnt be more pleased. Delivery was fast with no damage, whatsoever. The color depth is truly amazing, as is the clarity, and I prefer the matte surface that this monitor has to the glossy, reflective surface that so many others are making. I think its important to note that the Amazon description says this is an MVA Panel, but its actually an IPS Panel, which is obvious from the sharpness, color depth and clarity from multiple angles and, of course, the detail description from AOC included above. Also, the pictures dont properly show the actual inputs/output on the back of the panel-- Looking at the back of my panel, only the power connection is to the left of the pedestal stand and all the other connectors are side-by-side on the right. The power connection, by the way, is a standard C13 3-prong connector like youve seen on any power supply or monitor (not shown in the pictures for the product at the time of my review). My only regret is that when I work from the office, I now have to look at what I KNOW are 3 inferior monitors. Perhaps I can find a way to get my employer to allow me to buy one of these for the office...

Pros - -Reasonable price for the size and resolution -Crisp at 4k, quite good at 1440p -Comes with a cable for each type of hookup (HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, etc.) -Generous height and pivot adjustments -Solid base, takes more than a stray breeze to move the monitor -Matte screen helps minimize reflection & glare from other light sources -Good screen quality with vibrant colors and dark blacks -Power indicator is easy to see but not overly bright Cons - -A little cumbersome to affix the base to the monitor (weight/size) -Colors arent the most accurate when compared to higher end models -A bit of a light halo around the borders at times Overall - Extremely pleased with the purchase, given the price and the relatively low number of products available at this size/resolution. Went from a 32" 1080p TV to this for my computer, and I forgot how much I missed the faster resolution changes / alt-tabbing from fullscreen. Id advise anyone looking for a professional graphics editing monitor to try this one out in person, ensure it meets your needs, but for gaming and regular consumer video viewing Id say its quite good and worth strong consideration.

Hooked this display up to a MacBook Air (2013) using a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable ($7.99 ICZI Amazon). The display came on correctly while the computer was still booting. Had nothing to set or change except I did turn down the brightness. Super nice. I did use the Wall mount which was quite easy to do. Remove the 4 screws and pull the base arm out. The same 4 screws will work for the VISA mounting. I switched over and booted in Windows 10 and of course had to fiddle with the display settings for a bit but thats Windows. Works at full resolution 2560 X 1440. text is nice and crisp. Well worth the price. I have found nothing that I dislike. Update: Tried the monitor with a thunderbolt/display port to HDMI adapter. Works properly but I think the best way is to buy the $&.99 Cable.

Ive had this monitor for just over a month. Its exactly what I needed to add some more screen real estate to my 27" iMac. Im glad I decided on making my 2nd monitor the same size and resolution as the iMac and using this monitor in particular. There are two quirks with it that I dont think are necessarily the monitor itself (well, maybe one). After an extended period of time where I dont use the monitor, or if its just been in sleep mode a long time, Ill have two issues. The first is the color pallet for the monitor ends up going back to the default. This is really an OS thing, but over time the color profile for the monitor has become to get duplicated. This is very infrequent compared to the next issue. The second issue is that when I wake the computer the AOC monitor doesnt always "wake up" either. It looks like its trying to as Ill see it turn on with a "No Signal" message, then turn off. This is what happens more often than not. And this issue seems to happen no matter how long the monitor was sleeping. Occasionally it wakes up as it should, but thats more like a 2 in 10 chance. Its a simple fix to turn it off and turn it back on, but it is annoying. Whether these are the monitor itself, or the iMac, I dont know. Ive never had a multiple monitor system. And I dont think Ive really ever sat in front of one for that matter. As far as the look of it, its nice. There seems to be a bit more contrast than the iMac. This is after calibrating it with the OS X calibrator and making a few monitor settings adjustments. I almost prefer it over the iMacs native display. Im still giving it 5 stars for being a 2560 x 1440 27" monitor that makes my workflow much smoother. The price is right and Im happy with it. After calibrating it, the colors are a close enough match for what I need. If you need an exact match, then youll probably need to spend more money. Im also happy with it not having speakers. I already have that with the iMac and also some external speakers, so they arent necessary. If you need the speakers, then youll need to get a different monitor or invest in some speakers.

Good: Good monitor with excellent viewing angles. I wanted the matte display because the glossy display was hard on my eyes. The resolution is also great for the size. At 32" my old LG 1080p monitor did not give enough desktop space so the 2560x1440 display is great. Colors are accurate but not breathtaking and dont pop like that would on a glossy display and thats ok if you know what you are getting it for. Bad: The black sticker that is attached to the bottom of the monitor is the most difficult sticker I have ever removed in my life. I dont need a huge black sticker to tell me what resolution my monitor is and what ports it has. I knew that information when I bought it, and it it clearly labeled on the box. It took Goo Gone, a razor blade, a towel, and 15 minutes of scrubbing to get the sticker residue off! I believe the adhesive used on that sticker must have been manufactured by Superman.

I was curious about this monitor, and needed wanted to try something large and 4K. The reviews were good and the specs were good. So, even though Im a professional photographer, I bought one. I was happy with most of the monitors features. The appearance, the stand, the connectivity... all good. The only problem, unfortunately, was that the colors were weird and unnatural... everything seemed a little metallic. More importantly, the colors and tones shift significantly when viewed even a little off-angle, and when youre sitting in front of the thing at a desk, the monitor is so large that even when youre looking at it head-on, the edges of the monitor are at a significant angle. The result is that if you look at a pure grey screen from 2-3 feet away, theres a strong vignette effect. I wish that I had taken photos to do a proper review, but instead I just packed it up and sent it back, and ordered a BenQ monitor, which Im very happy with.

Pros: Really nice colors and resolution is very nice. The base is solid metal and very sturdy. This is really a lot of screen area. The 2560 X 1440 resolution works really nice for the MMOs I play. And make my browser much easier to read as well. Words are clear and crisp. For this money this is a really good buy without having to spend alot of money. Oh and I am using the Freesync on the monitor with my Nvidia GTX 1070. Yes you can do that with the newest Nvidia drivers 417.71 and you have to use a Display Port cable. Then the option to setup Gsync appear in the Nvidia control panel. And it works on this one. Cons: Only had one con. I had a hard time getting this monitor to work with the display cable at first. I ended up hooking up a HDMI cable to get it working. Then I removed the HDMI cable and put the Display Port cable back on and everything was fine from that point on.
