I did plenty of research on the different high refresh rate monitors on the market and ended up buying the Acer XF250Q for several reasons. For one, its a 240Hz monitor. There probably wont be that noticeable of a difference between 144Hz and 240Hz but I went with the highest refresh rate anyway and boy does it look amazing. Coming from a 60Hz monitor, 240Hz is incredibly smoother and enhances visuals so much more. Another big consideration when making this purchase was the monitors price. I got this monitor for $230, which is lower than a lot of 144Hz monitors. I dont know how they are able to sell these at such a low price, because I do not see any shortcuts taken in the quality of the product or its packaging. Even the design is excellent: the bezels are quite small and the stand is both sturdy and very adjustable in all directions. It gets quite bright at 400nits and there are no defects/dead pixels/artifacts. A quick UFO refresh rate and frame skipping test confirms that its a perfectly working 240Hz monitor without any problems. Something to note is that its a Freesync monitor, so you should only use it with an AMD GPU. When using it with the same exact system but with an Nvidia GPU, there are frame stutters and skips in the UFO test. One of the most important quality control issues with monitors is backlight bleed. My monitor had a little bit of a lighter shade on the sides, but its not noticeable in regular use. Its only noticeable in the dark with a black colored screen. I can upload pictures if someone wants to see. Pros: - 240Hz - Bright at 400nits - Price (cheaper than many 144Hz monitors) - Well designed overall - Sturdy and adjustable stand Cons: - Only compatible with AMD GPU (monitor stuttered/skipped when tested with an Nvidia GPU).

This is a great monitor for the price, 144 hz and lovely picture I formerly had a ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms HDMI Gaming Monitor but this monitor is at least of equal quality for a good deal less cash. The only reason I give this monitor a 4/5 instead of 5/5 is that it came with minor damage, the top of the monitor bezel wasnt clipped completely closed with some pressure i clicked it closed but there is still a minor aesthetic bump there. This had to have happened at the factory or been an oversight b/c there was no visible damage to any of the packaging and the packing material was great. I highly recommend this monitor for anyone planning on Gaming or buying a gift for a friend who enjoys pc gaming.

I bought this monitor in February and by May it is already toast. Extremely disappointed. The picture is completely scrambled coming from the computer but the menus and all are fine.

Firstly this is a great budget monitor. I was going to get a 144hz monitor but saw this on sale for $230 and jumped on it. I previously played on 75hz, so I cant completely vouch for how much better 240-ish(more on that later) is, but I can say after locking it at 144hz and playing CSGO, then locking it at 240hz, I can tell a noticeable difference, particularly on the desktop. It is now also officially G Sync Compatible, although it worked fine before it was "official." The monitor stays stable and is very adjustable. Viewing angles are pretty good but I did have to tilt it downwards a bit to ensure the best image. It has practically no input lag especially if you put it on extreme overdrive mode in the settings. I have had this monitor for a few months now, so Im not just saying this out of initial high refresh rate hype, it made me play better. However, this monitor isnt all sunshine and roses... The picture quality out of the box is absolutely terrible, and text looks even worse. I was sooo disappointed after initially turning it on. However, I downloaded a color profile for it on Windows, looked up some color settings on the monitor itself (tweaked it a bit on my own too), and adjusted the Clear Type settings in Windows. It now looks much better. Arguably better than my old monitor. That isnt really saying a whole lot, but AFTER adjusting the colors and taking into account the nice adjustable stand, high refresh rate, and low price, I deem it most definitely worth it. Problems dont stop there though... I was noticing lines in the screen when launching full screen programs. The monitor would go black for a second and then grey lines (like a no signal from an old TV) would appear in a few places briefly, then it would disappear and everything would be fine. This still had me worried though, so I did some research. Read that people had issues with black screens and frame skipping on this model (and lots of 240hz monitors). So I went to blurbusters(.com) to check for frame skipping. I never noticed it in game, but it was apparent on the test. Being a perfectionist, I began down clocking it with the Nvidia Control Panel and at 228hz the frame skipping went away and so did the "no signal lines" when launching games. I have been playing like this since my 3rd day with the monitor and just recently switched it back to 240hz, still didnt notice frame skipping in game, but saw it on the tests and had the "lines". So to conclude, this monitor isnt capable of "actually" reaching 240hz and has pretty bad image quality. But you can fix the image quality, you dont notice the frame skipping, and the price is so low (@ $230) that I let it slide. 4/5 pretty much exclusively on price to performance. If the image quality was better and it truly hit 240hz then it would easily be 5 stars. If you are someone who likes higher framerates more than pretty visuals, doesnt want to spend a fortune, and doesnt mind tweaking with settings to make it look decent, Id recommend it. If not then look elsewhere.

i love this monitor and way better than my older monitor i used. This is almost a perfect display for me. the size is great, custom-ability in the settings is fantastic. the only issue i have is the picture quality, it is a bit washed out for my liking. i did go in the setting and fix it and make it better but it never got to perfect levels. setting that i changed: Picture brightness: 50 Contrast: 50 Black level: 3-5 (what i found to be the sweet spots) Blue light: off Super Sharpness: off (looks worse when on tbh) Color Gama: 2.2 Golour Temp: Normal 6-axis hue: everything 50 6-axis saturate: everything around 75-80 after i set the changes to that, the color was a lot better and was more enjoyable. dont plug this in and expect it to be ready to go cause you do have to mess around with it a bit. i noticed some people liked the 6-axis saturate where everything around 55 except yellow, that is at 59. i think this monitor is worth it. edit: i have been using this monitor for about 3 months now(not exact cause they just made it gsync compatible while i bought it when it was freesync compatible). The only issue i have came across is with the power port. if i try to move the monitor the cord will become loose. all you have to do is push move the power cord around and/or push it back it. it really isnt an issue since it doesnt do it when its just sitting there and not being touched. if it wasnt for that it would really be a perfect monitor. but to me it really isnt a big deal since it only happens when im cleaning my desk, plugging in a new cable, or just repositioning the monitor but i rarely do any of those things anyway so it really isnt a big deal. This monitor has been really good and all the issues besides that is just been windows 10 or user error. the one weird thing that i found is that when you power off the monitor it completely shuts down unlike every monitor i had. my PC thinks its not there and will move everything to my second monitor and i actually like that feature. it saves power when you arent using it and isnt constantly having power brought to the monitor when its off. i just wished i waited a few months to get it when it got gsync so i can use those features. I have a 1070ti and i cant use freesync but the monitor works perfectly fine still. besides that everything is great. still butter smooth, sharp image but you have to tune it up since it comes pretty bland and dull out of the box but i think that is so we can customize it how we want and show us how really good this monitor can be. i would definitely buy this monitor again even with that weird power issue. 10/10, best monitor i have owned

First off, I really love the 144hz. Its kinda hard to describe how much different a screen is when running at 144hz. Everything is much more "real" looking. When you drag a window its like dragging a sheet of paper. I also like the adjustability of these screens. They have up, down and forward and back tilt. Where things are not so good is if youre reading text on the screen. Its pretty fuzzy which I suppose is to be expected on a 1080p screen but its not just fuzzy blacks are kinda washed out against white screens. You can try to adjust this but if you fix the black on white problem that creates a problem with darker videos. In essence theyre cheap 144hz screens and it shows for detail work. However, having said that, games look glorious (assuming you can live with 1080p) so if thats your primary use these will rock out for you.

Pros: - 144hz - affordable price - adjustable stand, very convenient - Great for gaming. I pair it with my GTX1070 low-mid setting for AAA games - getting 150+ fps, game runs so smooth on this monitor. Cons: - picture quality isnt the best, its so bright. White is wash out - doesnt remember the setting (after I switch to gaming mode and switch back to normal mode, all my settings are gone) - not great for reading (texts on screen are meh) Overall for gaming I highly recommend, however if you want to use it for work, i.e., coding. Look elsewhere.

Install Flash Player Coming from a previous 60Hz TN this monitor is, as expected, such an improvement. Running it on an RTX-2060, and getting great frame rates that actually translate to good variable refresh rates thanks to G-SYNC compatibility. One thing I have noticed is that despite the G-SYNC certification it still shows significant "ghosting" and "trailing". Fast horizontal movement will create an odd effect that translates to trace lines to the left and right of each object. I cannot find a configuration that minimizes this. Is this just something you have to get used to? Update: I wanted to come back and comment on something that Ive come across. It seems that Freesync/G-Sync Compatibility and any inherent Motion Blur Reduction used by this monitor are mutually exclusive. So, when you have Freesync or G-Sync Compatibility enabled, it will not be doing any form of Motion Blur Reduction. Ive been testing games without G-Sync Compatibility enabled (@240Hz) and I dont really notice much tearing, but the quality of the image when quickly moving improves dramatically. So much so that for games like Apex (as in my screenshots) I keep G-Sync compatibility turned off. (Ill try and add new images for comparison)

Solid monitor for gaming...plays top tier titles without screen tearing using Freesync and an R9 390. No noticeable color issues...out of the box its very bright and high contrast so adjustment is necessary. Display port connection is as easy as connecting a monitor can get...and YES the Display port cable is in the box with the monitor. Would give 5 stars but the somewhat awkward controls made setup adjustments harder than necessary and theres no guide included...essentially you have to fiddle with the controls until you figure out every button. I would recommend.

I have had this monitor for a month and barely even a week. Now when powered on, plugged into the PC or not, it displays only a white screen. Up until it broke it was a monitor I even recommended to some people, now Im seeing that they dont last. Edit: mailed to acer tech repair in Texas and have to wait a week without a monitor. Glad it’s getting fixed for free but it’s a great inconvienience to go a week without a monitor and the fact that it hasn’t even been two months and I’m seeing similar reviews. Edit2: after waiting 8 days from shipping it out I am now in a fight with fedex as they said they delivered it to me and it’s nowhere to be found. I wouldn’t have to go through all of these issues if acer just made monitors that worked. Both acer monitors I have didn’t make it to a year. I have a Sony monitor that’s pushing 4 years old and it’s as good as the day I got it, used.
