Bought this monitor to build an office computer for my friend. Here are some things that stood out: PROS 1. Looks very crisp and is high definition. 2. No dead pixels on arrival, thats a plus! 3. Gloss frame looks professional with a low blue light on the bottom right thats the power button 4. Has speakers, but theyre not strong. I thought this was a plus because at least you hear a bit of sound if your audio isnt setup yet 5. Easy to setup mount; tilts about 20 degrees maximum 6. Non-reflective matte screen CONS 1. Not really "ultra" thin. Its thin, but not necessarily ULTRA. 2. No headphone jack; but you can use your computer rig for that, no big deal My job was complete and my friend was happy with the purchase. Definitely a win!

Good price for the size. Picture looks good. Its not the correct VESA mount size for my needs, so I need to get an adapter. Not a big deal. Just be aware that the VESA mount size is 100mm (4-inch). If you need another size, select a different monitor, or purchase an adapter at the same time. My only complaint is the speaker sound. I wasnt expecting anything fancy, but I was definitely expecting more than what there is. Its VERY quiet. Like whisper quiet. I have good hearing and can barely hear these speakers (which are on the back of the monitor, so that doesnt help). Im 2, maybe 3 feet from it at any given time, all settings in the monitor, windows sound control, and video player are maxed out. Ive tried different configurations in the settings/enhancements. Tried it through the HDMI connection and the others with the included 3.5mm cord. No change. Im not looking to blast music at a party in a huge room or anything. Id just like to be able to hear a video playing in front of me, in a tiny bedroom, at a reasonable volume.

Great monitor in terms of picture, although the built-in speakers are terrible and there is no headphone out. So theres no way to send the audio from the HDMI to any external speakers. Thats a problem for something like an xbox one and some newer set-top boxes that output sound mainly through the HDMI cable. But then again this is listed as a "monitor" not as a "tv." As long as whatever device you use with it has a separate option for Audio Out and you have some nice external speakers, youre good. Anyway, besides that, this product is a great value for its price and works wonderfully. The graphics and response time are good enough for me to do everything from gaming with an xbox to editing photos on my PC. I just wouldnt recommend this unit for people that arent tech savvy. The sound thing might frustrate them. And then theyll have to ask you for help

This thing just up and died on me the other day. I loved it before then but whats the point of having a nice monitor that drops dead for no reason? To their credit they give you a 3 year warranty so I am going to be able to send it to them and get it repaired but they are charging me for the cost of sending a big relatively heavy package to them. At the post office even light boxes are expensive to shop if they are long. Luckily I kept the original box (and this is why I tend to keep boxes) which will save some money but I don’t have time to deal with this right now and I dont know when I will have time to box it up and ship it out. I already spent some time on the phone with Acer and they were professional but it was ½ hour of my valuable time I would have used to earn money with. In the meantime I dont have a monitor. Then they will send it back to me with the broken component fixed but I worry that something else will break on it now because I think these are cheaply made and that’s just my theory for why this happened. I will never buy another Acer again even if they fix this. I recommend other buyers to avoid Acer like the plague and buy a better quality brand. Sony is too expensive but maybe something in the middle of the reliability spectrum like I don’t even know what I would get but not Acer.

I give two stars simply because this monitor is not dead. But, no matter how I set brightness and contrast, I have a washed out image.I use this monitor side-by-side with an earlier version of the same Acer monitor. The older monitor on the left is great, which is why I purchased another one (set to 69 brigthness, 59 contrast). Comparing with this monitor, on the right in the photo, you see the big difference (50 brightness, 50 contrast). Email support from Acer has not fixed the problem. This monitor gets so many good reviews that Im willing to believe mine is the rare exception. Pray your purchase is not another exception. And be persistent with Acer Support, because they dont seem motivated to resolve issues.

I bought two for a basic dual monitor setup at home and they work quite well. There are better resolution monitors out there but you will pay an arm and a leg for them and if you are not a gamer such as myself these are great at this price point. There are not as many adjustments to the picture that can be made on these in comparison to higher end models but that is expecter at this price. The blue light filter setting Will not allow you to set your screens bellow about 60% brightness which is my biggest complaint (I like to turn my monitors way down). They are very hard to beat at this price range and size.

Ive been using this monitor for 3 months and its already having problems. The color was great at first but a couple weeks ago I noticed the picture had kind of a green/yellow, almost orange tint. I thought it was the low-blue-light feature for nighttime use that I did NOT have active in the menu, but I couldnt get ride of it. Then recently the tint started to oscillate from normal to the other at random times, like just now, which is why Im writing this review. And now it has stopped. If this keeps happening, Im going to have to return it :(

Randomly enters Burn In mode and cycles through colors. There is a message that appears on the screen telling you to press "MENU and RIGHT to Burn In Off" but pressing (or pressing and holding) Menu and Right doesnt exit this mode. No documentation from Acer on how to deal with this, so you basically have to Google through docs for lots of other monitors and try their burn mode escape sequences until you finally get it to work again. This will be approximately 5 minutes before you throw the monitor out a second story window. Other than that the display is fine. Well, except for the fact that the speakers are so quiet as to be completely useless. UPDATE 11/1/2017: Every time I hook my laptop up, it takes 10 minutes of fiddling to get the display to work, and today it randomly lost all the color settings and looks all weird. In my home office, I sit beside a second story window -- every morning I want to throw this monitor out of it.

These are the best monitors (I use 2) I have ever had so far, and the price was simply crazy low. The colors are great and identical on both monitors. In my case, my gpu only had 1 DVI out but had multiple display output ports and 1 HDMI out. I thought the second monitor attached via an HDMI cable was at first showing muted colors, until I played with the driver UI. After getting frustrated having to reset the colors after every screen reset, I got the idea of using the included HDMI-to-DVI converter that came with the monitor. That worked like a charm. So I have the second monitor hooked up from the GPU using HDMI out then going through the HDMI-to-DVI converter and into the monitor. For whatever reason HDMI sucks. I dont use the built in speakers on the monitor so I dont miss it and now I dont have to worry about resetting colors.

UPDATE: After replacing my HDMI to mini-displayport cable, I stopped having the blinking issue. Im giving it 5 stars because I think for the price range its worth it. If you want to have a super high quality monitor, you really need to shell out way more than the $105 or so that I paid for this. The buttons for adjusting the display and volume are weird and touchy. You cant really see the buttons since theyre on the underside, and its hard to tell what youre pressing by feel alone since theyre pretty much flat. Youd think changing the volume would be simpler than this but Ill probably get used to it. Otherwise, it works, its just what I needed, and I havent run into any other problems. (ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW) Im going to have to get a second cable to test if my hdmi to mini displayport is to blame, but Ive had this set up for less than an hour and have seen the monitor display blink black several times now. Id read reviews of people experiencing this and I knew I wasnt getting a top dollar product - I dont have top dollar to spend - but I didnt think it would start RIGHT AWAY and it makes me really nervous about how long this thing will last me. It also didnt connect initially, and Ill have to be careful about turning the monitor on first and see if thats a repeat issue. Ill update this review as I see how this pans out.
