I lowered my rating from 5 starts to 1 star. The monitor is good. Moving from 60Hz to 144Hz is actually an amazing experience. However, this monitor appears to have a known defect. In the middle of the screen there are times when a random vertical tear will appear. The tear is approximately 6 pixels wide. To accurately describe it, it seems as if someone removed a vertical strip 6 pixels wide from the middle of the screen and relocated it to the far right. It is extremely noticeable, and the only way for me to fix it is to repeatedly power off and power back on the monitor. Many others have reported the issue, and so far the only permanent solution I read was to return the monitor to Acer for them to patch it. Hopefully they sort out this issue in future revisions... but all for now, I wouldnt recommend it.

This is an amazing monitor and while I have only had it a short time I absolutely love the price and quality of the monitor. It is a bit thicker than most monitors but it is a TN display. The difference between 60 and 144 is so noticable and feels great. Gaming is also fantastic. Smooth gameplay. Unless I have an issue in the future this rating stays at 5 stars! Also the monitor has built in FPS so you can check fps with xbox. This monitor has a BUZZZZ. It comes from the power button on the monitor, when the monitor gets turned off the buzzing stops. I got a replacement monitor through amazon (Amazing customer service) and the buzzing is just a part of the monitor I guess. Not sure if I will keep it.

At first I was sceptical about getting this because it was a TN and not an IPS panel. However, after getting it and having it now for a week. I can honestly say that Im happy I took the chance. G-SYNC is worth every penny, any shooter game is like night vs day. Really makes all shooters feel completely different, and makes you better as a player. Ive always had a 60hz monitor, some even 4k. I can really see what people mean when they say that 2k gaming at 144hz is the (sweet spot) and I will never go back to 60hz again. If you are like me, and are concerned that the TN panel will disappoint you. Take it from me, I spent an entire week debating and watching videos. Im very happy that I took the chance, if you have any doubts then take my word and go for it. This is the very first time I have spent this much on a monitor, and I definitely do not regret it.

This is truly the best gaming monitor you can buy hands down. 27 in 2560 x 1440 G-Sync, 1ms response time at 144-165Hz by using the display port. This is the TN technology panel and not the IPS. The IPS can be seen better at side angles but has a response time of 4ms and this is only 1ms. No issues with seeing everything. Spot on. I dont use the built-in monitor speakers since I have Bose speakers or my Sennheiser GAME ONE gaming headset for gaming. The quality of this monitor is superb and truly the top of the line for gaming. Solid sturdy stand the goes up, down, tilts and you can also spin your monitor vertically too (make sure you have a long enough monitor cable to do that)..Its very well package for shipping too. You also get a 3 ft. Display cable, 3 ft. HDMI cable and a 3 ft. USB 3 cable and a special Predator support number if you need it. It also comes with two USB 3 ports on the left side of the panel. Nice. Make sure to read the directions in how to setup things correctly. There are lots of tutorials online on how to setup and turn on G-Sync through Nvidia Control Panel. Make sure to use the Display cable to get the 144+Hz speed etc. This monitor is truly 10 times better than my previous well known and respected name brand monitor which was also a 27 in 1920 x 1080 with a 5ms response time at 60 Hz. I never thought that this monitor would make such a huge difference in regarding to the speed, detail visually and no tearing or ghosting while gaming. Everything is so smooth with G-Sync technology at 144Hz. It made all of my games look even better like never before. Just amazing and so superior than my other monitor in all aspects period. Im still shock in how much of a difference this monitor truly makes. I never thought it would have such a huge impact on me but it has with a big smile. Ive read some reviews that didnt favor this monitor or they had some issues. Im not sure if they were talking about this exact monitor XB271HU Abmiprz. I was a little concerned but, someone I know truly recommended this monitor and told me not to make a mistake and to purchase this monitor if I was using an Invidia graphics card to game or even to do heavy videos etc. I was also looking at other brands but, Im so happy that I took my friends advice. I can tell you that this Acer Predator is it. Yes, I would purchase another one again without any hesitation at all. If you looking for the best gaming monitor, the Acer 27in Predator MODEL: XB271HU Abmiprz is the one to order. Its worth every penny and you wont even have any buyer’s remorse or be disappointed.

This monitor was a good deal and for the first 6 months it worked flawlessly, then it would not turn off after it was just turned on, so I unplugged it to turn off then it would not turn back on no matter what I did. So lucky me I purchased the "Square Trade" insurance, you would think that I got lucky, it was only $5 or so. I then filed a claim on the Square Trade website and was truthful when submitting it, then at the end after submitting the claim, the claim was then closed stating I needed to get with the manufacture because it was under a year. So much for great service. To make a long story short, Acer wanted me to pay to send it in for repair, at my cost, and was not satisfied that I had the original box to ship it in, they said that was not good enough, it had to be wrapped in at least 5" of bubble wrap. So if the original box was good enough to ship it to me when purchased why is it not good enough to send to them? Square Trade stated they would pay for the shipping to Acer but I needed to get an estimate, really! In conclusion, I would not buy this monitor or any high dollar electronics from Amazon and get the insurance. If it was purchased at Best Buy or Walmart I would have been home in a hour or so with a new monitor and never went thru this process. It is not worth all the time I spent on hold and chats (4 Hours) and still have to go get estimate, then chat again, then ship. It is just NOT worth it!

After 3 months its already producing stuck pixels. Fantastic colors and looks amazing, but because there is not "more than 4 dead pixels" in the middle of my display they refused to take it for repair. Its a friggin red pixel! So much for customer support, they barely even spoke English. Not satisfied at all. Update 7/16/18: So, after not having a monitor for an entire month (after sending my monitor back for repairs for the problems listed above), I finally got the monitor back. Outside packaging looked fine, and everything should have worked as intended. NOPE! The panel was dropped before shipping and they sent me my monitor back in even worse condition. After a long talk with Acer customer support, they told me that their American offices would contact me. Luckily, they did. I would raise the rating, however there has been such a massive disconnect between me and Acer that I have no idea what is going on, and not to mention it didnt seem like they were doing anything until I contacted them to figure out what was even happening! Its almost been 2 months! Would I recommend this product? When it works, it works, and gets the job done splendidly. However trying to put up with customer support (or lack thereof) and all of the hassle that Ive gone through, I dont think Ill ever go Acer again.

This Monitor worked ok for about a few weeks then I got one dead pixel ok its just one pixel. One dead pixel became a whole strip in the bottom not to mention the worst back light bleed for a TN panel I have ever had. After that the display port stopped responding. I did an RMA with ACER and going on over 2 weeks now they are still "repairing" the monitor and dont have the parts for it. Contacting Acer support is also very frustrating. I get auto responses from them saying sorry its taking this long but we dont have the part and dont know when it will be in. So after paying well over what the current price was for this monitor and then spending another $60 to ship it to them. I am still waiting on my monitor to be returned to me. ACER IF YOU ARE READING THIS. If you dont have the part then they should just offer me an upgrade hell i would even pay the difference just to have a functioning monitor. Save your self the headache and stay away from this brand.

After reading through the reviews here and doing a lot of research, I decided I was willing to take a chance on this monitor. I was willing to risk getting one that had issues like some of the other reviews mentioned. However, what I didnt expect was the bait and switch from Amazon themselves. I purchased this monitor new. "Sold and Shipped by Amazon," so I knew it wasnt coming from a third party. When it arrived, the branded Acer tape was already cut with generic tape over top of it. When I opened the box, the styrofoam was broken. When I pulled the parts out, the stand was dirty and smudged. The cables were smashed together in a random space in the sytrofoam. The manual wasnt even in the box. I wasnt very confident that the monitor was any good by this point. After putting it all together anyway, I found that this monitor did in fact have a problem that caused the entire right half of the screen to be covered in red lines, even without any display cable plugged in. Playing with the settings did nothing to help. So I returned the monitor, since it was defective. But the real surprise here for me was that Amazon is apparently accepting used/returned monitors and reselling them as "new" even though they KNOW that the units are defective. Whatever you do, do not buy this monitor from Amazon. Besides the issue that I returned it for, the monitor was great and definitely worth buying. If you want to risk getting a defective unit, at least do it through someone else who wont try to bait and switch you, like Amazon does.

I needed a monitor with a faster refresh rate for casual gaming... mostly FPS. I had spoiled myself on a 27" that only had a 60 Hz refresh rate, so when this 27" model with 144 Hz popped up on sale, I grabbed it. So far, I love it... especially for the price. I was disappointed with the depth of color when I first hooked it up... the whole display looked a bit hazy on Windows 10 compared to my old Samsung display. However, I looked in the Advanced Display Settings in Windows and found that it was running at 60 Hz by default. I bumped it up to 144 Hz and that somehow made the colors much deeper and true-looking. Color depth is now similar to my Samsung display, except now with a much higher refresh rate. If you are disappointed with a haziness in your new display, check to see what refresh rate it is running at. I tried some gaming and am very pleased so far. I cant use the Freesync feature since I have an NVidia GPU and I didnt want to pay for G-sync. However, I enabled V-sync on the games I played and experienced absolutely no screen-tearing and great response, with no noticeable hit to FPS. And 144 Hz is a definite improvement over 60 Hz. One other thing to note: there is virtually no physical bezel on the top and sides of the monitor. However, there are apparently no actual pixels for about a quarter inch from the edge of the display on the top and sides, which gives it a sort of "soft" bezel. Not a big deal for me, as I just wanted a 27" monitor with a faster refresh rate than I had, but be aware that when you hook it up, the display doesnt really reach the virtually nonexistent bezel. The bezel that is there is like a brushed/matte looking material, as is the screen itself, so there is no noticeable reflection from any surface of the monitor... which is another plus. Overall, I am very pleased with this monitor, especially considering the price I paid for it.

I received a monitor that still has the issue with the screen splitting down the middle. I was hoping I would be all set, it was stamped as being manufactured in February 2018 and assumed they would hav fixed this issue by now as it has been prevalent since 2016. Shame on Acer for this, picture quality was great when the screen wasnt malfunctioning too. I was not willing to take chances and have it replaced. Amazon was awesome as always about me returning the item. I decided on a different monitor, and am much happier.
