I got this monitor to replace an old TV screen I got from a family member to replace a Viewsonic monitor that had one of its capacitors blow out in the middle of a game. Right off the bat, it had everything I was LOOKING for, But not everything I would have wanted. My old TV had some color issues that would mess with the picture. Some days the screen would be slightly amber, other days the screen would be a couple pixels off and there would be a black bar that squishes the screen. But there would always be this same issue. All of the colors were brighter. And white would bleed onto other colors, try looking at a white grid with black lines when the white bleeds over the back and stops you from seeing the grid. Im a graphic designer, so this will not do! Right out of the box, some assembly required, not that its very much assembly, just snap the stand together and stick the computer on the stand. When I plugged this bad boy in, I noticed something that the instructions had glossed over, not even an audio out port. This caught me off guard when the instructions showed that there was an audio out port on the back of the monitor. Okay, as long as I get the picture, I can plug my consoles into the TV and put it somewhere else. Turning this monitor on, I noticed that the screen was really bright. So I did my best to correct the coloring. Its still a little bright but the colors shown are the colors shown. I can see whats supposed to be on the screen and I dont have the same issue. Im even playing Monster Hunter World on this screen and its doing well.

My older Acer monitor died suddenly, so I ordered this as a replacement, having been happy with the brand for years. What a mistake. It arrived a day late and in a much-too-large box with absolutely no padding. But those were the least of the problems. I hooked it up via an HDMI cable and the color was terribly washed out. It physically hurt to look at the screen for very long. Now, I know this happens with some monitors via HDMI connections. So I spent hours tweaking things to improve it -- the monitors settings, Intel settings, Nvidia settings after forcing it to use that card, and switching to full RGB (because systems can mistake it for a TV and use limited RGB). It got better. But it was still a very far cry from my laptops display, worse than my old Acer by a longshot, and you would never see actual black on the screen. There was a perpetual haze, no matter how the brightness, contrast, and gamma were set. I dont expect anything close to perfection for the price, but something this bad shouldnt have even made it to public release. If you only work in word processing and spreadsheets and email, you might be OK with that. But I write and do web development, so I need something that doesnt blind me and that can display colors properly. This just didnt cut it. If youre thinking it was solely because of the HDMI hookup, turns out that wasnt it either. A) I was able to hook up another monitor (Viewsonic) via HDMI to the same laptop and got a perfect picture. B) I hooked this monitor up to a separate desktop computer via VGA connector, and it saw barely any improvement. It was still quite washed out, and couldnt display anything resembling actual black. Ill be returning this one and a family members already processing the order for a replacement from a different manufacturer. Its disappointing that the quality was so lacking when Ive been a loyal Acer user for years. But I guess that happens sometimes. I hope this is something they fixed in other models, but Im beyond my patience to test more from them after this experience when this was something I need here and working well before now, and now I have to play the waiting game all over again and cross my fingers the next one can get the job done.

I have purchased cheap monitors before and I dont expect a super quality picture but this is just bad. I have to tried adjusting the settings multiple times and you cant get rid of the brightness in the background and it ruins the picture. Thankfully I only use it for work to read email and stuff, otherwise I would have dumped it. Dont recommend.

This is a great monitor with an apparent weakness in its electronics. It worked for us for a few days and then the HDMI port died. We sent it in for warranty service and, to Acers credit, they repaired it (replaced the main circuit board), tested it, and shipped it back to us fairly quickly. It lasted another couple of weeks before it stopped working again with the same problem right after our power flickered. Ah ha! You say. Power issues. Okay, but why were all the dozens of pieces of equipment in the same room on the same power all unaffected? There is a weakness or sensitivity in the Acer monitor that other equipment does not have. Acer needs to beef up their electronics. Im moving on to another brand.

I am honestly very underwhelmed with this monitor. Even for the price I expected a better viewing angle but if you arent looking straight at the monitor, you start to see picture issues. I bought 2 of these and I am going to junk them out as soon as I order a better monitor. If you are looking for a super basic cheap monitor this will work, but if you want actual decent picture quality, look somewhere else.

I bought two of these to go in my home office. Overall theyre great monitors for the price, but I was a little underwhelmed by the picture quality. If your looking for some solid utility monitors, and not too concerned with the image itself, these monitors are perfect little work horses.

This monitor had problems from the start. We had to buy a special adapter plug to make it work for my hp laptop and then once we got to work, it would stop working periodically until it finally stopped working altogether. Unfortunately, I waited too long to return it, and the window closed for returns. Bad investment.

If you dont have high expectations for your screen, this one is ok. But if you expect to use it for design, or as a screen to watch movies, forget it. The brightness is hard to manage and varies in different parts of the screen, so colors are not consistent. As soon as you get a bit farther from the screen that youd be working on it (like, to watch a movie), this is even more noticeable and if the screen is not in the exact angle, forget about understanding what happens in the movie if the scene is a bit dark.

I bought this to replace one of my old monitors that died, but in my haste ordered the wrong size. A quick refund and purchases of the larger version (thanks Amazon) and I can say the picture quality is great. Sitting next to the still working old monitor shows me how bad the color is on that one, so now I need to get another so they are both as good.
