While this monitor does deliver vibrant colors for a budget price, there are some serious defects. It has lousy blacks, especially from an angle. If youre not directly in front of the monitor looking slightly down at it, youll be very disappointed if you have a dark or black-based screen saver. The blues are a little hot but can be corrected with color and gamma balance, but it takes a slow and steady hand, even youre used to working with Acers clunky interface. Ive used several other Acer monitors over the years and I will use them again, but not this model. Its the worst LED monitor Ive ever purchased. I would recommend that you stay clear of this monitor and continue shopping.

MODELS VARY - ** THIS REVIEW ** is of the bottom of the line 19.5" 1600 X 900 dpi G206HQL. I bought the bottom of this series on a whim as a backup monitor. One should always have a backup monitor eh? It was only $79.99. I had one of my security monitors die today, I finally unboxed the ACER G206HQL THE GOOD: It comes with both VGA and DVI-D cables (aside from power supply and stand). It will tilt forward or backwards about (Im guessing) 15 - 20 degrees. THE BAD: Its a cheap, lackluster display output. MAYBE it would look better of my video card on that system had DVI output. I find going from VGA to DVI gains about 10% of "snap" or better picture quality. This will be "something" for now, but even for my security camera output which is 3Megapixel, this is not true HD. Moral: You get what you pay for. There is no way this would work as a main , production monitor for business use (text legibility). Even casual surfing would be a bit tedious on this. Only buy this if you really dont care or are on a budget. Who knows maybe the ones up the ladder in this model series are a bit better? I cant speak to that.

I was using a 20" iMac for a very long time. When it died, I couldnt afford a new one, so I transferred my operations to a 13" MacBook, and obviously missed all that screen area, and decided to shop for a new monitor. I found this one here on Amazon at an excellent price, and also got the VGA adapter for my MacBook (Mini DVI to VGA). Connection was no problem at all; Mini DVI to VGA adapter to the MacBook, VGA cable (included with the monitor) from the adapter to the VGA port on the monitor. Plugged the monitor into AC power, turned it on. No picture immediately, unplugged the adapter from the MacBook and plugged it back in; there we go, picture. I found a couple of tutorials on using an external monitor with the MacBook, learned the various options, ran the System Preferences for "Display", set it the way I wanted it, and Im up and running. Picture on the monitor looks just great with the settings right out of the box, no reason to change anything. Its been only 2 days, but so far, Im very happy with this monitor; its exactly what I was looking for. Easy setup, great picture quality, excellent price; who could ask for more...

I ordered this monitor expecting to be able to VESA mount it like every monitor and screen thats been made in the last 10 years, but no! If you DO want to VESA mount it, youll need a third party add-on for $15-30 because they dont sell those on Amazon. Price wise, you may as well get a 24 inch monitor from almost any other manufacturer because it will be the same cost overall, and have built in VESA mounting available. When you do find a third party VESA mount, youll find the power socket and DVI port on the back of the monitor are incredibly inconvenient and placed so that it is almost impossible to install cabling without extreme measures. Severely disappointing. I will NEVER buy another.

These monitors are pretty low quality (washed out blacks and blown out whites), so theres really no way to recover the color saturation quality due to how cheapy they are. Tasks this monitor is good for: Browsing the web Tasks this monitor is not good for: Watching movies Graphic design Web development Anything that requires color accuracy I looked for help online that would tell me how to correct the color, but I couldnt find anything. If youre just wanting a monitor for the sake of having a monitor, this definitely works. However, if you do any sort of design, development, graphic design or any other task that needs color quality, I wouldnt recommend this monitor. I gave it 2 stars, because I dont think this monitor is meant to be great, but its definitely priced out of its category. Id recommend a $99.00 price tag for a monitor like this.

Was not really noticeable at first, but I saw what looked to be a buffer corruption running down the right hand side of the screen of my task bar, next to my icons. Spent the night swapping out cables and computers to find it was the DMI port on the monitor causing the issue. Got the RMA, will be getting a different brand when the refund comes in. With this monitor, and an Acer laptop I had that the mother board gave out right after the warranty was up, Im done with this company ...

Very happy with this purchase. My cat knocked over my old Dell 24" LCD monitor and the warranty expired two months before, I did not wanna pay for another low quality monitor. I work from home most weekends so this was an emergency. Since I had some money left on my Amazon Gift Card, I used that to buy this monitor. I used this monitor at my former job except I think it had to be a 19", it also had an HDMI port. This one does not, but because it comes with the VGA cord and the largest white cord, I easily plugged it into my docking station and after fiddling with the screen resolution it works perfectly. I am okay with the fact that it does not tilt. I have no complaints about the resolution. A lot of reviews seem to be nitpicking about the tilt and resolution but instead of being cheap... Just search for a monitor that tilts and has good resolution. Reading is fundamental. Update. It tilts slightly up and down. Regardless, still a great monitor

My wife recently got a job working from home as a call center customer service representative for a Fortune 100 companies and one of the requirements was having dual monitors so that she could have multiple applications opened to comfortably service their customers. My wife was using her laptop and a monitor to meet the dual monitor requirements, which was ok, so I got her a second monitor. I mounted the monitors on a Vivo Dual Monitor Desktop stand, which works perfectly. The picture quality on the the monitors are awesome and it performed as advertised, I just wished it had a HDMI port or two to connect our Apple TV.

I bought this to replace an aging LCD monitor. Man, is this new monitor bright! Out of the box, the brightness is set to 100%; I turned it down to 30%. The colors are vibrant and crisp, and the contrast is very nice. I play a lot of PC games, and games look absolutely gorgeous. The backlighting of the monitor is a nice, even tone across the face of it. The menu controls are a little tough to figure out. It took me five minutes of playing with them to get it (I never read the manual). That shouldnt be too much of a problem, as youll probably set it once or twice, and never touch it again. The power button is a round protruding piece of clear plastic hanging off the bottom right of the frame, and it glows blue when on. Very easy to find in the dark, whether the monitor is on or off. The inputs are VGA and DVI-D (no HDMI). No speakers, either, which is great; monitor speakers are usually a wasted expense IMO. Standalone speakers are a much better value. The power cord has an external brick. That probably keeps the design of the monitor thin and light, and helps it stay cooler. My last monitor had the AC adapter internal, so it was able to use industry standard power cables (the type your PC probably has). This monitor has a specialty cable for power. In fact, there are four cables in the box; everything you need to connect it to the video output of your PC. The four cables are the power cord, the AC adapter, the DVI cable, and the VGA cable. Some manufacturers skimp by not giving you the cable you need to connect to your PC, so its very nice that those cables are included in the box. My biggest complaint with the monitor is that the stand only lifts the screen 2.5" off of your desk. I will need to buy a monitor stand for it (or improvise something, more likely). The monitor does have the four standard screw holes on the back for mounting on an arm or on the wall. As of this writing, Ive only had it for a day, but its a very impressive monitor so far.
