Dells customer service is really awful. I mean, so bad that I strongly encourage you to buy your computer equipment from a different manufacturer. I have been trying to purchase a Dell XPS 15 9570 directly from Dell for the past three days, but they apparently do not want my money. I placed an order, including a $25 fee for "expedited shipping," which means that I would receive the laptop in one week instead of in three weeks with "standard shipping." (This is shipping to the continental US where we do have UPS & Fedex, not to outer Mongolia by camel caravan.) My credit card company placed a hold until I contacted them a little while later and verified that it was in fact me who was making the order, after which I notified Dell that they should continue to process the order. The Dell representative with whom I spoke said that everything appeared to be in order and I should expect the laptop next week. A few hours later, I received a email saying that there was a problem with the order and I needed to call Dell right away or the order would be canceled. I called Dell, and after being transferred to the "verification" unit, I was left on hold for 40 minutes. (I tried to use the automated receive-a-call-back system, but it was not working, so I was left on hold.) After 40 minutes, thinking there must be some kind of glitch in their calls routing system, I hung up and called back. I was left on hold another 20 or 30 minutes. Finally someone from the verification unit answered. When I explained why I was calling, he said that I just needed to reply to the email with a message saying that I had indeed authorized the purchase, so I did that. That sounded pretty sketchy and not sure why I was made to wait on hold so long just to be told that. The evening of the following day (that is, last night), I received another email, this time saying that the order had been canceled, which I verified by checking the order status online. When I called today to find out what was going on and to try to reinstate the order, the first representative I spoke with said that he could see that (1) the order had initially been placed on hold, (2) the hold had been manually lifted, (3) the order had then been canceled because the credit card had been declined. He could not tell from the notes in their system whether the credit card had been declined by my credit card company or by Dell. He offered to place a new order (which would be available with "express" shipping 10 days from now) or to transfer me to someone who might be able to see why the previous order had been canceled and to try to reinstate that order. I requested the latter. The representative I was transferred to told me that the system showed that there was NO problem with the order. I said that that did not make sense because I had received an email saying it had been canceled, the online status update had shown me that it had been canceled, and the previous representative to whom I had just spoken had also said it had been canceled. After some more checking, this new representative said that she could see that it had been canceled but did not know why. She offered to transfer me to sales to have a new order placed. I told her that it would make no sense to place a new order until I resolved why the previous order had been canceled, since a new order could very well be canceled, too, just wasting my time. I then decided to check with my credit card company again, just to be sure that there was no problem on their end before attempting to place another order. The credit card company confirmed that they had not declined the purchase request and that the cost was well within the available line of credit. Apart from all of that confusion with the Dell service representatives, I also had a hard time understanding most of them, both from the low audio volume of their phones/devices and from their accents. (I dont necessarily object to companies using overseas call-centers, but I do object if their doing so makes it difficult for customers to understand what the customer service representatives are saying.) I am a past Dell customer. My first desktop was a Dell, and one of my first laptops. In terms of laptops, I have also owned a Thinkpad and a budget Acer. For the past 10 years my main laptop has been a MacBook Pro, which I have liked so much that I bought another one for my parents. I didnt have so much trouble with Dell in the past, and I havent had any significant problems with the MacBooks. (In fact, the one time I needed to speak with Apple, it was a quick and easy conversation.) How does Dell stay in the business of selling laptops to the public if their customer service has become this bad? Despite the difficulty I have been having with customer service, I was going to give it one more shot with Dell, but after reading all of the complaints in discussion forums about the problems other customers have had with the XPS 15 9570 and 9560 (dead pixels, display backlight bleeding, coil whine, poor quality control on the fittings, not going to sleep properly and overheating in backpacks), I am worried what the experience might be like if I actually manage to get one of their laptops and need support with a technical problem. I am going to cut my losses and buy from a different manufacturer. I recommend you do the same. Good luck.

As many have described, this machine has a flaw and will likely fail. Mine got some flickering screen issue thats not solved without any update in driver or firmware. The problem persists even outside the OS. Before buying please note that and also search on youtube for this issue. As this machine includes only Mail in Warranty you will need to send it back for repair and wait for a week to get it back. The only solution to this would be to upgrade the warranty for an on site visit but Dell also makes that difficult and does not provide an online option for doing so. Hands down after being a Apple customer for more than 25 years, its worth their premium. Ive had a wonderful mac book pro for 5 years and no issues ( just needed a much faster one ) just needed a faster one. DONT BUY THIS

There are many great things about a laptop like this, but a thin and light always comes with its down sides. The 1080p matte screen does wonders for photo editing especially with the 100% sRGB. Ive seen the 4k one in person and it is very glossy, really just comes down to personal preference, but this one probably has a somewhat longer battery life. I also find a 4k screen on a 15inch screen some what pointless, because you have to scale it up with windows anyway just to see things. Another upside is the battery life, I can go days without charging this laptop even with doing some light work with photoshop and lightroom and also just browsing the web. Other things that are more intensive you may have to charge everyday. However, I assure you this battery will last you at least your entire work day before you have to charge it. Now, there are two downsides I found to this laptop which are the thermal throttling issues which you can just google a video to figure out how to undervolt the cpu (Ive never had a thermal problem since, after under volting my cpu) and the keyboard. The keyboard really annoys me, I cant wrap myself around the fact why dell didnt make a full size 10 key keyboard. There definitely is space on the sides the keyboard and they didnt put speakers where the keyboard could be so there is just blank space. I can live with that, but sometimes without a number pad it is slightly annoying and an inconvenience. What actually aggravates me is I cant tell if it is me or the keyboard, but this keyboard straight up just misses key stroke inputs. I type over 100 wpm and never had this problem on any other keyboard, but I do think it may either be a malfunction or the fact that these keys have a deeper actuation than most laptops. Nonetheless all these problems are manageable and overall a great laptop.

I ended up returning this unit twice. Pros (when it worked): Fast boot and start up. Sleek design made me enjoy sitting on the laptop. Cons: 1st laptop - Constant crash issues. Had Dell perform a remote takeover of the computer and update the BIOS and change the settings and it still kept crashing. The crashes would happen randomly when either using word, or surfing the internet using chrome, or using python. I did try to use one program at a time but it would still crash. 2nd Laptop - When it arrived the LCD didnt work, which I found to be a common issue with the XPS. Seems like its a loose connector and you have to open your laptop and plug it back in. Dell sent a technician to fix it, it started working and after a week the cable came loose again. The keys are not responsive unless you really slam them down. When you try and type quickly some of the letters wouldnt get pressed and Id have to go back and put them in. Final straw was the computer crashed.

Color me impressed. The Dell XPS 15 9570 is a fantastic notebook! I’m coming from a higher-end MacBook Pro, but felt it was time to upgrade and wanted to go the Windows route this time. I do software development so I wanted an i7, 16GB and minimum 512GB SSD. I opted for the non-touch, HD display because of better battery life versus more pixels (also I can’t stand fingerprints on my screen). Pros: 1. Very fast and responsive (6-cores) 2. Great display 3. Great battery life (10+ hours with how I use it) 4. Compact form factor for 15” 5. High quality construction, similar to MacBook Pro 6. Much less expensive for similarly configured MacBook Pro Cons: 1. Palm rests seem to collect fingerprints more easily than some notebooks (minor nit-pick) If I had to do it over again I would buy this same exact model

Got this laptop as an anniversary present for my parents (1080p screen, 512 GB SSD, 16 GB RAM, 45 watt 8650H CPY, 1050ti GPU). Was a decision between buying the Huawei Matebook Pro X, but the bigger screen, better battery, better CPU, better GPU, better PORTS selection (needed HDMI and USB-A capabilities), and MUCH EASIER upgradeability (just popping opening the back panel gives u instant access to the SD card, wifi card, and RAM slots) justified going for this over the 200 dollar cheaper Huwaei. Have to say that this notebook is a BEAUTY to behold, with its near bezel-less 15.6" screen thats super bright, mind you. The CPU, RAM, GPU and SSD just about guarantee 7-8 years of useable life for the laptop (which is a HUGE plus for my parents as they REALLY DONT like buying new tech every 4 years). Undervolted the CPU by -0.11v to ensure ZERO overheating (as I know that CAN be an issue, since its a VERY thin and light laptop for the power its packing). As of now, theyve (my parents) experienced zero heating issues. Package came within 4 days of purchasing, which was earlier than expected (I live in Bahrain, so international shipping usually takes 3 - 7 days)

Amazing laptop. Had a bit of a bumpy start but things smoothed out. Cant quite give 5 stars because of the issues out of the box. First boot had bios erros and failed to start. Once I got it to boot it wouldnt find the internal battery. That seemed to fix its self after a few reboots and pulling the power with the laptop on and killing it. The final problem was windows would not activate and kept complaining that it was not genuine. Eventually I got it to verify and its been smooth sailing since. So glad I bought this laptop. Just dont give up too quick if its a bit rough to get started in the beginning

Sometimes after boot up wifi does not work - wifi device is not found. Graphic cards freezes on high load. Fan is quite noisy and randomly kicks in even when the device is completely idle. On the bright side: display is really good and overall performance is good.

I recently got this for music production. I was mainly looking for something with enough RAM. I do not necessarily understand why the others are giving this laptop a bad wrap. I have been uploading and downloading songs simultaneously while working in Corel Paintshop and Reason 10. I have not had any issues. I noticed someone reviewed about the WiFi turning off. If you didnt know you can just google "my WiFi turned off after restart/update" and there are forums that tell you how to fix it (You have to turn something off, i do not recall the exact thing, but its simple). The battery life on this thing is tremendous, I do not use it as a work laptop but i spend anywhere from 1-6 hours on it per day and a single charge can last me ~5 days. I also really like the fingerprint scanner, way easier than typing a password every time. I also noticed the graphics are really nice for videos and such. Very sleek design and highly compact, good job Dell! All in all I love this product so far.

Unless youve been living under a rock, you know that Windows laptops have gotten on par with Apples MacBooks which were pretty much the reigning kings of outstanding build quality and performance on the go, and the Dell XPS 15 is without a doubt the closest youll get to beating the MacBook Pro 15. Cons, the laptop does run a little warm under heavy or constant use but its nothing out of the ordinary for laptops of this calibre (running a Core i7 and a decent GPU compared to say a Core m3). Not to say its unmanageable but I think Dell couldve done a better job with thermals. I do have one major gripe, and thats the webcam, its a nose cam so youre left with a weird angle when video chatting and it doesnt help that the image quality itself is very poor. Overall, Dell knocked it out of the park with this. With great speedy performance, a gorgeous 4K screen, super quick fingerprint reader for Windows Hello, an outstanding keyboard and touchpad, all the ports you require including a full sized SD card slot and Thunderbolt 3, all in a package that lasts you about a good day of work on a single charge, there arent many other laptops that do it like this. The XPS 15 is not without its shortcomings, but it is a great product for anyone looking for performance in a very attractive shell on the go. *On a side note, Amazon Services was the reseller I picked and my package arrived on time and in great condition. No issues there whatsoever.
