After not even 1 day of usage, the laptop crashed and did not reboot. So far I have spent: - 30 min with an Amazon cust rep who ended up recommending that I buy a new charger - 3 days wait to get the charger. Tried it. No power still. - 2h with another Amazon cust rep who ended up liaising with ASUS US and concluded that I needed to contact ASUS France on the phone number she provided me - 5 minutes today with an ASUS France customer rep, who were rather rude and unhelpful. I am now returning the merchandise to Amazon who are pushing back. What a nightmare. Ill update my rating if the situation ends up being sorted out.

I’ve been a big fan of ASUS and Dell products for years. For the pst two years I’ve been using Dell products, so when it came to upgrading I decided to opt for a 14” Zenbook. The build quality is good, not great though. Speakers sound good; not great though. Screen is matte, and it looks good for most things. A glossy touch screen can be annoying sometimes so I’m happy this wasn’t implemented. Keyboard keys feel a little cheap. For my purposes I needed a Linux OS on the machine. Before I installed Ubuntu, I needed to upgrade the BIOS on the machine as it was creating many problems. After this update, installation on Ubtuntu 18.04 was still buggy, but Ubuntu 19.04 seems to work perfectly. NVIDIA drivers on this OS are working just fine without much effort. Overall, I do like the laptop, but I would prefer better keys on the keyboard, as they feel a little cheap. And maybe a less annoying fn-key function.

This is a very nice zenbook. The sound is amazing on its speakers and can go quite loud. Nice design, great viewing area. Coming off a 15.6 yet this seems bigger view-wise. Stunning clarity. Downside: it gets way hotter than what they say. So they should not be bragging about it staying cool. I have to rest it on a book or something else to not feel the heat. Battery charges fast, iffy on how fast it discharges. Also, I cant shut off annoying Asus messages. Im sure Ill figure it out. Overall, a luxurious web surfing experience in a well designed, thin, light weight machine.
