Bought this laptop after doing many hours of research.... So far I love it! Pros: Super fast boot time. Very little bloatware. Upgradeable Ram. Additional hard drive slot (I got the 250gb ssd version and will probably add a 1tb hdd) While running multiple Google Chrome tabs, watching a video on YouTube, and running a full anti-virus scan the laptop was still silent (fans werent even noticeable). Laptop stays cool on your lap. Keyboard is quiet. Laptop is super thin and light weight which makes if very portable. Cons: Display isnt that great (this is something I didnt really care about). For $620 you probably wont be able to find any laptop with these specs and a great display. Theres always going to be a tradeoff. I chose to downgrade on the display and processor (i got the 8th gen i5 version which is more than enough power for me). Webcam kind of sucks - This is something I really dont care about since Ill probably never use it. Keyboard flex - Almost all ASUS laptops have a little keyboard flex and it was the main thing that scared me about buying this laptop. After using the laptop for a few days, I can officially say that Im not even bothered by it. Its very comfortable to type with! No numeric keypad - Again something I didnt really care about. Not sure about battery life yet but Im thinking you can get 6-8 hours out of this thing if you fool around with some settings. This wasnt a big deal to me since Im always a few feet away from an outlet if I need a charge. Overall, Im really happy with this purchase! Theres so many laptops out there and almost all of them have mixed reviews (which makes it incredibly difficult to pick one). Ill give a 1 month, 6 month, and 1 year update (if I can remember to do so)

This laptop is incredible! I originally thought that since the video card isnt that great (The can you run it website told me I wouldnt be able to run most games even on the minimum settings) that Id have issues with gaming. But so far Ive been able to play everything Ive tried. Even Final Fantasy 14, and I generally keep unity up at all times and even then no lag. Its crazy fast. Will definitely be sticking with Asus.

Solid design, super-thin and light. Keyboard feels good. Like the fingerprint login security. Also great connectivity especially for the size. A couple things--1) Win10 comes installed on the 1Tb drive (at least mine did). Had to quickly dupe to SSD and reformat HDD for data only. After doing so, performance skyrocketed, 2) need to load the ATK driver from ASUS to get backlit keyboard to work. Both of the above I consider minor and would pick this platform over the last two (Dell & HP) laptops I have used in my business.

So far its great. With light use, I can make it through a whole day without bringing my charger. Pros: For its price, it performs really well. I can get well over 5-6 hours of use out of it if Im not doing anything too demanding. If Im doing heavy gaming, itll still last about an hour on battery. Nice and lightweight. It also looks quite pretty. Keyboard and trackpad feel great. It doesnt hurt my fingers by overusing the trackpad, and the keyboard is nice to type on. Lid lifts mostly with 1 finger. Cons: Poor thermal performance. Under any significant CPU load, it shoots up to the high 70s or higher. It thermal throttles if you use high CPU and GPU at the same time. It gets reeeeally hot. Its hard to get into. There are screws under the rubber feet, so you have to take them out to get under the lid. The adhesive will come off if you take the feet out too many times. Its a tad bendy. Not too flimsy, but its not the sturdiest laptop in the world.

I was looking for an upgrade from my old 2012 Asus Laptop (which just finally crapped out on me) and this one quickly became a top contender after hours of research. Ive got a few pros and cons below. PROS: - The 802.11ac wireless connection really makes a difference. Internet is unbelievably speedy, which makes a huge difference for me since I use lots of heavy web applications for my work. - Applications running on the computer are even faster. Even Premiere Pro runs smoother and easier than it does on my desktop. Keep in mind, my desktop has 12 GBs of RAM, but its still running on an i5 processor. With an i7 8th generation processor, this laptop is outstripping everything and can run multiple intensive operations at a time. I often run into problems on my work computer (a Dell) with my web applications crashing when I run too many at a time. Not a problem on this guy. - Battery Life. Battery Life is incredible. Best Ive ever seen on any machine. I gave it a full charge at roughly 1PM Sunday, used it for 2 to 3 hours (setting it up, downloading applications, logging into my email), used it on Monday for 5 to 6 hours (doing heavy work), and now Ive used it today, Tuesday for over 2 hours, and it just got down to 25% battery capacity. My older laptop wouldve needed a charge after the first two hours on Sunday. Theres a slider in Windows that lets you toggle Battery Saver VS Performance, and thats super handy when on-the-go. - Keyboard. I do lots of typing, and the keyboard feels nice and spaced out. My older Asus laptop had a "crunched keys" feeling to it, but this feels really comfortable. Im not really a keyboard scientist or anything, but I experienced no problems typing on this guy. - Size. The 15.6 screen is really nice, and it gives the entire laptop a bigger, better size than most Asus laptops. My old one was much smaller, and I often paid the price. This one is bigger, lighter, and thinner. Imagine that. - Setup. There was almost no bloatware on this guy other than some of the Asus stuff. Its really refreshing. CONS - Nothing, really. Ill update this review if anything comes up. Not a huge fan of Windows or Cortana, but what are ya gonna do. - I heard the internal fan pick up when using Premiere Pro, but its pretty quiet and didnt bother me at all. Normally its nearly silent. - When running for 4-5 hours, it can get a little warm on the bottom. Normally its perfectly cool. SUMMARY For the price, easily the best laptop Ive ever experienced. This is a MacBook Pro hiding underneath an Asus label and an $800 pricetag.

I spent weeks searching across all laptop manufacturers/models trying to find the biggest yet lightest/quickest laptop with an abundance of storage. If thats the criteria you are looking for as well, look no further. For the price you pay, there is simply no other laptop that even comes close to getting what you pay for. It really is amazing that a lightweight 15" laptop with the two most important aspects of a laptop (256SSD and i7 processor) exists for this price. The design is very sleek and at first I was hesitant towards the color shown online but ended up loving it as soon as it arrived. As stated in other reviews, the fan does kick on when CPU usage becomes high but not necessarily to the point where it becomes annoying. The mouse track could also be improved, but I use a wireless mouse so it doesnt really affect me either. The only real complaint I have is the volume level of the speakers is sub par - but, luckily, headphones do exist and mitigate this problem leaving absolutely nothing to complain about! If youre looking for the best laptop out there but yet dont want to break the bank, this baby is the one!

I have been searching for two weeks for a laptop that main purpose to do presentation stuff, watching film and surfing on internet and it is perfect for students who dont want to play games on laptop. And on my opinion there is nothing like this laptop that has a good price/performance ratio. I bought the i5 8250 with 256 ssd version for my sister. It came in box that has lots of "free" space and they even didnt put a "airbag" to absorb impact but it came in good condition. Here are the pros and cons that i have been seen: Pros + Its realy fast because of the ssd + so quite when you are using it for little things like surfing. If you are using it for something bigger than the fan is making little sound but when it cooled to some level it stops immediately. Of course lack of hard drive is bigger portion of this quietness. + its great screen i love it. Especially the thin bezels make the screen look much bigger. It is doing that while let you believe it is smaller than a 156 laptop from looking outside. Asus used some magic here. + writing with keyboard feels good if you dont push too much. (Its bending inward) Cons -Why someone put on/off button near the delete button? I had to disable the shut down from button -WINDOWS 10 TAKES ABOUT 49GB SPACE. WHEN I OPENED FIRST TIME IT HAD 207GB FREE SPACE IN THE SSD -The keyboard back light could be more properly adjusted. You can see the backlight led between keys. -WHEN IT CAME IT HAS LITTLE BEVEL ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE KEYBOARD IT DIDNT DISTURB MY SISTER BUT IT DID ME. THATS WHY I CUT ONE STAR. -KEYBOARD BEND INSIDE WHEN YOU PUSHED LITTLE BIT. As I saw every new model Asus laptops have same problem. -The touchpad doesnt feel good. # ill edit if i found something good or bad.

Very good student/work laptop that features full 15.6 inch screen yet light. Powerful enough for mid-tier hefty productivity such as video editing and heavy compiling, and light gaming, but not for heavy gaming at all. I bought this laptop for work and it does everything I need well without any problems. You are also able to put in 8 more gb of RAM if you would like since theres a slot for it. Pros: - Very thin laptop that is easy to carry - Very good performance to price ratio - High quality build quality and material - Sleek design for professional looks - Silver-gold color that does not attract too much attention - Good screen and brightness - Good heat management Cons: - Does not come with any complimentary case - No Windows Hello capability - I use a wireless usb mouse, but the touchpad can be a little bit twitchy at times - Screen reflection indoors - No CAPSLOCK indication - Relatively short charging cords - Mediocre battery, but I do have a dedicated graphics card and 2 storage units.

This system is amazing, the speed is unmatched in both the processer capabilities and the download speed. The Nano edge display is the best quality laptop screen Ive experienced so far. Really an outstanding computer. The only reason it is not a five star is the Battery and charging system. Unlike my other laptops I cannot take the battery out myself, and the cable for charging is not a usb interchangeable one. the wall plugin is big, gets very hot when its both charging the battery and in use at the same time, and as well the battery use alone will not even last six hours of normal use much less 8 as stated, and I have no apps at all on this system and even deleted the ones that came with it so I have no excess internal use. In anycase I am happy with the purchase and will even look to buy another if possible

I bought this laptop to use for editing video, performing normal office tasks (email and writing code) and video encoding (handbrake) - it does the latter fairly well but the former not so much. I cant knock a star off for that because the lower power i7 doesnt seem to be the right CPU to use for video editing, my expectations were just too high. What I am taking a star off for is really two things: poor quality and volume of the audio system and the lackluster battery life. Ive used the laptop for a couple hours this morning, mostly watching YT videos, and its down to 44%, which is a far cry from the supposed "Full workday freedom" that is claimed right here on a sticker on the laptop. If you read the reviews though, youll see this is a common thread and a noted weakness of the model, so it was fighting an uphill battle from the start. The speakers are pretty terrible, both in terms of volume and quality - and Im not expecting MacBook Pro type of sound either. But even with the machine volume at 100% AND YT volume at 100% I could not hear the laptop above my kids playing quietly with their toys. I know that sounds unrealistic but its quite true. If youre going to hook these up to some external speakers then its a non-issue. Ill be returning mine, but if your needs are lighter than mine then youll be fine. We use Dell machines with the same internals at work all day long and they are great for working spreadsheets, writing code and heavy office usage. Just keep it to those things and youll be happy. As long as you use external speakers, or headphones and keep this plugged in or use it sparingly with the battery youll probably be fine.
