I purchased this laptop less than a year ago, and when I got it the first impressions were great. It looks amazing, and the RGB is very good, especially on the ROG logo on the back. The laptop is built like a tank, with no flex in the screen and keyboard. I wouldnt be surprised if this thing could survive a couple of drops (although I wouldnt recommend it, as with any laptop). The speakers are great. They are plenty loud, have incredible bass and highs and even put my friends Macbooks speakers to shame. The screen is very good, with bright colors, slim bezels, and deep blacks. The glare reduction makes me comfortable playing anywhere, even with a window at my back. The keyboard and trackpad are both more than good enough for everyday use, and hooking up a mouse along with a few other USB devices is easy because of its 3 USB ports and one USB C port. Now, about 10 months later, I have seen a few problems. Firstly, a few months after purchase, the left speaker of the laptop completely died, but the right one still works flawlessly. Even with one speaker, however, the audio is still loud and clear. Also, the battery life is just awful. I struggle to get more than an hour and 15 minutes off of a full charge, as if the processor and GPU are constantly at 100% power. Looking at other reviews, I didnt see a huge issue with the battery, so Im not sure if it is just my unit. Im currently working to get a replacement due to the speaker, and will update if I ever do. Overall, this is a very good machine, and I would highly recommend it, but be cautious about issues popping up later on.

One would assume that if your gonna buy a pretty expensive computer then it better work. So for the past two years, I had this computer which has been a roller coaster. Sometimes the touchpad works sometimes it doesnt. It has a personality of its own. Once the wifi component of my computer screwed up and had to wipe my computer a dozen times before being able to get my wifi back.....it took like 6 hours into the very early mornings before that even happened plus lost the asus command center in the process hmmmm..... Another problem was the sound system. If you like use headphones or earphones all the time, no problem. If you wanted to blast the music then nah. I know that im not that literate with computers and I also understand that some issues are software related but if im investing top dolla for a computer than it better work as good as its price tag says it does. So if you were thinking about buying this computer be forewarned. Dont say i didnt warn you sooner.

After reading reviews from notebookcheck and other youtube reviews I decided on this machine. It had the specs that would lead anyone to think you get some high fps in gaming and also it should be responsive in general usage. i was wrong, first of all the fan throttles up and never goes back down even after hours of non use. I fired up steam and tried up GTA 5/Kingdom Come: Deliverance/Nioh and could barely get about 30fps even with the settings on the lowest. The temps went up to 137F and even after changing drivers, updating the bios there was no change. The ASUS software is terrible and any changes made it the gaming center have no effect. It is a crazy fingerprint magnet and only after 3 days of usage you can see how it looks. I did like the speakers as they sound great and it never felt hot to the touch regardless how hot it really was. I am going to return this because nothing I do will solve these issues.

I had this laptop for less than 3 days and returned it. It was advertised as coming with Windows 10 Professional but it came pre-installed with Windows 10 Home instead. According to ASUS I wouldve voided the warranty had I reinstalled the OS myself and replaced Windows 10 Home with Pro. The laptop temps were pretty good during gaming using a Kootek laptop cooler and also a Coolermaster Notepal U3. The screen is great but the WiFi was mediocre. Perhaps Rangeboost is just a gimmick? It kept dropping connection on a 5ghz band and causing latency in Overwatch. I normally get 20-30ms and it was bouncing back and forth to 90ms and higher with a few drops in between. ROG Game Center is not an effective dashboard. I couldnt resize the window or relocate it to the primary laptop screen when connected to an ASUS PG258q via a mini displayport. Overall Id say its a decent laptop.

Been using this laptop for about 2 weeks then finally decided to plug via monitor with HDMI, it would not display, i tried the drivers and it would look like it doing something but nope nothing happen. Ive tested my cables since i have a ROG Desktop and cables worked fine. I have no dislike about this laptop. Its portable and i dont expect it to be super beast like my ROG Desktop. I would have kept it, if rog support would be willing to send a tech to replace the HDMI port but didnt so i had to return. The bright side is i rebought it and hopefully i wont have to send it back. Will create an unboxing with testing everything before waiting a few weeks. I didnt feel like i needed to as ROG has not disappointed me yet. I wish the Hero II came with RTX 2080Ti though

product is great, powerful and beautiful , it deserves 5 star but the one I got has some issues on mic and speaker, there is no sound from headphones and microphones randomly , but it should not be an common issue, whatever it’s still a beast!

Only complaint is HDD. A 5400 Rpm type in such a good machine? I think ASUS ccould havedone better and at least given us a 7200 Rpm or even a Firecuda. Everything else is pure and expected ASUS quality!

Entered BIOS loop less than 24 hours after opening, has to be sent in for repair. Crazy disappointing.

We did a lot of research before buying and this is the gold standard in this price range. The battery life, perhaps understandably is really short given how much this game is pulsing through the processor.
