The Great As expected of a gaming laptop this game can run any recent AAA game with little to no issue. Packing a full GTX 1070 this machine is perfect for on the go gaming and is my LAN machine as well as my work machine. The screen is beautiful with its matte finish and G-SYNC has prevented screen tearing completely(not that screen tearing should be normal regardless if you have a decent PC). As far as doing web development this PC is a dream. Whether I am just coding a site layout or compiling a bunch of code this laptop does not even stress at all. It eats whatever I throw at it with out even breaking a sweat.(If laptops could sweat). The cooling system is awesome and the LEDs can be turned off if you want to not be too showy in public, but lets be honest. Would you rather see a ROG Logo or a fruit? The build quality is superb as Asus is known for. The plate that the body lifts off of when open may feel a bit flimsy, but the keyboard and body are solid! The keyboard is responsive and feels great. Not as great as a mechanical keyboard, but enjoyable to use. The software that controls the RGB of they keyboard is also great. If you are a tinkerer you will find the BIOS super easy to use as well. The Okay The cooling system does the job, but can get a little loud under full load, but if you are like me and wear a pair of headphones you will not hear them at all. They keyboard backlighting is a little dimmer than say a Corsair K Series keyboard, but I do not mind it. The lights are perfectly comfortable instead of being in your face. The Bad There really isnt anything bad about this laptop other than maybe the lack of an ethernet port and Asus not including one like they did with this models predecessor the original Zephyrus. But if you are in a place with a decent wifi connection worry not. The battery also doesnt last super long off of charge but honestly you shouldnt be expecting super long battery life if youre trying to game at 144hz on ultra. I am receiving points in the ROG Elite Rewards loyalty program for my review

Ive purchased the computer 6 weeks ago, and I have had it for less than a 4... Id just like to start by saying, I understand that computers are are mass made, and that sometimes defects can happen. My issue here is how ASUS handled this and why I will never buy from them again. Initially, the laptop came with technical issues that meant it needed to be factory reset within an hour of opening its box. Asus technical support assured me that this was normal, and sometimes happens. A reset will fix these issues and I will be back to enjoying the laptop (even though I have yet to actually use it). 1 week later, I was playing a game and managed to burn my finger... How do you ask did you manage to do that? My laptop somehow reached 97c while playing a game... After testing the thermals a few more times, I realized something was really wrong with my machine, and I contact technical support again. They said they need to check it in the lab and it could take as much as 14 business days to do so. Without much of an option, I send them the laptop and count the hours until I can have it back. 1 weeks since the day I sent them the laptop, I get a confirmation that the repair is complete and that it should be headed my way shortly. I call to check how things are coming along, and they tell me that the repair is complete and they are waiting on the delivery service to come get the computer. I call a few hours later, and get the same answer, so I ask for the the number of said company so I can tell them to get the laptop. I called the company, and they tell me that someone tried reaching out to me, and that I didnt answer 30min ago... ASUS gave them the wrong number. After all of that and driving an hour round trip to meet the delivery guy to get my laptop, I look at the paper from the lab regarding the repair... They didnt fix it... "We reseeded the RAM, checked USB HDMI port and that the laptop started normally. Cleaned the laptop from dust as well" To all not technical people there, thats like checking your washing machine when you are having issues with your kitchen sink... They arent event remotely related... They tried to say that the dust might have been the cause, but a 3 week old computer doesnt collect enough dust to reach those temps... not even close! So of course, I now still have a defective computer, and they want to take it again for up to 14 business days and leave me without a computer I paid for. Please dont buy ASUS! They dont take responsibility for their computers and dont care if you paid for a full price computer cause they will take it over and over again for repairs. Only fools actually use their computers it seems...

This is a power-house! It tackles anything I throw at it, happily gaming at high resolution, running VMs, and converting/encoding videos. This is a sweet sweet setup! I love it. My ONLY complaint -- is that I cant purchase a nice drop-in docking station for it (no docking port). This is a common feature on business machines, which makes sense - but it would have made this laptop that much better. I run my own business, in the office during the day and it would make it a lot easier; instead of plugging in the power supply, the HDMI, the USB dongle, etc... I use a KVM switch which it works just fine with, but still a bit annoying. When this machines running hot - its loud, and quite hot on the top.... but its never shut down, crashed or complained!

In terms of specifications, the Asus Zhephyrus M is a no compromise gaming laptop and I love many of the features. Unfortunately, the unit I received had a hardware issue right out of the box where the screen constantly flickered with horizontal bands. Updating Windows and the Nvidia drivers did not resolve the issue, nor did several chat sessions with Asus technical support. A quick google search confirmed that this was not an isolated issue. By the way, Asus tech support said they would only support the drivers available on their web site for this machine. Their driver is more than a year out of date and nine months older than the driver the laptop was shipped with. I want to love Asus products, but fortunately Amazon is great about returns.

Okay, so I have purchased this laptop on the Black Friday. I had it for a couple of days, and I have noticed very weird things with it; Pros: - Decent performance as any other laptop. - Keyboard is comfortable for long typing sessions. Cons: - It radiates. This is EXTREMELY noticeable and things start to hurt, especially if you put it on your legs, your legs will start an itchy feeling of radiating heat that is supposedly supposed to go through the sides, but surprise surprise, it goes down with radiation. If you are one of those people that have to lie down on your back, you will find yourself in a position to where the laptop radiates your belly and it becomes REALLY uncomfortable. This is the only laptop that has the issue. - Cooling. Really Bad. When I use this laptop, like playing a game such as Overwatch, the CPU goes to 99 C and crashes. The cooling system doesnt even run at its capacity. However, if you dont play anything and let your laptop sit there for like 10 minutes, it will randomly start introducing fan speeds of 100% and be like oh hey i need this 100% rpm fan, but to cool down a 60 C and not 90 C. - *NEW* Seemingly after 5 months of use, the laptop started grinding the chassis and making noise. My older laptop is still noise free and never had to change anything since 2015, yet this one breaks apart in 5 months. Is the laptop designed to break? or? All in all.. Not recommended, just because of the cooling system this laptop has. I would return if I still had not passed over return date.

So Ive used the laptop for about a week now playing GTA V, Destiny 2, BO4 and left 4 dead 2. The laptop does get warm and temps do get high(85-90c). From what i have read this is normal for this gaming laptop. i installed throttlestop and changed some stuff and temps hang around 75c now. Overall this is a powerful laptop and great for everyday stuff and can handle most games. This is the 1070 model. The only downfall i have is the keyboard came "smashed" the right side of the keyboard keys are flat and have very little travel..**UPDATE** messed around with keys and they are fixed.**update+** so ive had this laptop for awhile now and the temps are still the same. went into the settings and changed things and throttle stop and undervolted it. temps around 70C still

I use this laptop when traveling for general work and gaming. Will play the latest games, at ultra settings with decent frame rates. The screen is nice, the keyboard has a nice feel for typing and the touchpad isnt bad either. Being nice a slim makes this easy to transport although the power brick is fairly large due to the laptop having a full block GTX 1070 on board along with the hex core i7. This also impacts battery life... so far I have only managed just over 3hrs for general use and just over an hour for gaming. However, this is good enough for me as Im only ever away from on an outlet for a couple of hours at most normally.

I pre purchased my Zephyrus M last year in April of 2018. I didn’t receive the laptop until June. This thing has been nothing but trouble. I have already sent it for service once due to throttling. I was using my laptop yesterday while traveling for work. Worked great for the first few hours while doing some things for work. Loaded a game and all was well for the first minute. At that point the unit lost all power. I unplugged the unit waited for a few minutes and plugged it back in to the outlet. No response when attempting to power on the unit. After about 30 seconds I heard a pop and sizzle noise. At this point a small flame shot out the aft left fan exhaust. I immediately unplugged the unit. The flame stopped and smoke poured out the vent. I am now once again sending this unit to ASUS. Do not buy this item! I have never had so many issues with a laptop. This is far too much to spend to have it almost catch on fire.

First and foremost, I like Asus. They’ve provided all my gaming laptops over the years. They will likely keep being my sole provider of laptops for years to come. However, the Zephyrus M has been nothing but problems for me. Just opening and closing the case is too much for key parts of the frame. I have a hinge casing which came back from an RMA broken, the bottom of the casing is cracked from opening and closing the laptop. This is the least mobile notebook I’ve ever seen. Before I had an RMA done, the machine lost both the storage drive and the GPU from overheating. I’d honestly like to just replace this laptop at this point, it’s been nothing but disappointing on everything but playing games.
