Although this cover will protect yo ur keyboard it will also prevent your MacBook Pro from properly cooling as much heat is dissipated through the keyboard. You will find the fan running much more. This may cause eventual failure of components. This is like putting a blanket over your laptop.

*********With the protective unit on it left indents on the screen that permanently is fixed to my screen now so DO NOT buy!!!!! Not sure if this is only with the new updated 2018 Mac versions. Plus it doesnt work with new 2018 computer versions. They add these strange stickers to put on the keyboard to make it so it doesnt slip. It doesnt work and it slides and moves around. Not sure if this is why it left imprints on my screen that wont come up. Kind of messed up!!!!! Now I am trying to have apple warranty replace the screen and they think I stepped on my computer... So not really happy with this company as it might have ruined my brand new computer!

Ive always been one of those people whove relied on my devices to protect themselves, as rough as I am on them....after 1 17" 2010 MacBook Pro, an inherited 2011 15" MacBook Pro, and multiple bluetooth keyboards, all dirty beyond belief, that philosophy wasnt really working for me and I wanted to do better by my brand new baby the 13" touchbar MBP. Never had a keyboard protector but this one seems to be doing the job so far...without washing, out of the box, it fits perfectly on the butterfly keyboard, comes off easily if I try but otherwise hasnt slipped, and makes the keys a bit more grippy and a lot more quiet. For this reformed device abuser, this is a very small investment to protect my new baby from my clumsy hyper mobile hands and everything they can spill...no idea if itll go the distance but Im very happy so far!

I just wasnt able to comfortably type with this protector on it. After applying it flat on the MacBook Pro keyboard, I discovered how loose it was on the edges as well as the middle keys, so I used the small adhesive strips included with the protector. They worked to the extent that typing on a key didnt cause the protector to lift up. However, it didnt resolve the fact that this keyboard cover is just slightly loose. I do recognize that other reviewers have noted that it perfectly fit theirs, but I guess for my MacBook Pro 15-inch with Touch Bar, typing with this protector never felt right. This is important to me as a programmer, where the typing experience makes all the difference. To be fair, this isnt entirely the companys fault. Apple is also to blame for designing such a flat keyboard in these models. Likewise, I dont plan on returning this keyboard protector, and will save it for situations where I might feel its needed. There is, obviously, some utility to having a keyboard cover, especially for those who are obsessive about keeping your MacBook clean. That was one of the main reasons why I decided to make the purchase. But because that protection came at the expense of a comfortable typing experience, this isnt a product Ill be keeping on my MacBook Pro keyboard 24/7.

Ive been using this cover for several months on my 2017 TB MacBook Pro. The cover stays put without using the adhesive strips. The cover is extremely thin so it wont interfere with your typing. I bought this because I read in a popular forum that the cover will slightly reduce the keyboard clackety-clack noise (it doesnt). The cover does keep out dust, crumbs (if you eat over your keyboard) and small amounts of liquid (like a few drops of coffee or soda but dont expect protection from spills). But as the cover ages, the cover turns ugly white (like waxpaper) but when the keyboard is illuminated I can still see the keys perfectly. Im personally not bothered by the ugliness but I mention it because some people care very greatly about the appearance of their equipment. Assuming that the plastic doesnt crack over time, Id buy it again. Ugly and all. If I can find a cover for my 2013 MB Pro, Ill buy it.

I havent been writing many reviews lately but I had to make an exception in this case. A little background: Im a huge believer in keyboard protectors and used one (made by Moshi), from Day 1 of ownership, with my 2009 MacBook Pro. When I finally upgraded to my 2016 Pro, I was distressed that no protector was available. Im a cat owner--need I elaborate? As fate would have it, it needed service and due to this models extremely integrated design (not to mention that the keyboard never worked right), the entire logic board--which includes the keyboard--had to be replaced. Fortunately, before sending it to Apple for servicing, I learned about UPPERCASEs GhostCover, ordered it, and slapped it on my serviced Pro before even turning on the machine. I couldnt be more pleased. As much as I liked my Moshi cover, I like this one even more. Its thinner but doesnt feel cheap. Its thickness better complements the pressure of my typing than the Moshi, plus it feels better to me than this Pros keys (a very longtime Apple/Mac owner, this Pro line, quite frankly, feels a bit cheesy to me). Conformation with the keyboard is perfect. Ive had no need to use the included sticky strip--so far, the cover stays put and doesnt leave a ghost image on the screen. Most importantly, I feel my Pros innards are protected. No need to worry that fur, dust, or the occasional crumb or drop of liquid will befoul my very expensive laptop. I advise all 2016/2017 MacBook Pro owners to make this very modest investment and would like to thank UPPERCASE for making this available. I feel a lot more comfortable using my Pro now--Im almost glad it had a problem because it allowed me to start fresh with a protected keyboard.

I do not review products online. If you dont like the "grease" that appears on your Mac keyboard after you use it... too bad. There isnt a good way around it. This is possibly the worst product you can buy for a beautiful, $2000+ computer. After two days of use, permanent abrasions appeared on my computer screen. Im no expert, but I 100% think it is because the Mac cannot close properly when this product is on the keyboard. Apple makes their products the way they do for a reason. Instead of the computer closing and hitting the edges of the computer, you can feel the screen hit the keyboard cover instead. My theory is that small particles that can easily fall onto the cover get stuck when typing/using the computer and then are pressed into the screen until they do permanent damage. This companys products should be taken off Amazon, and Amazon should be ashamed to carry this brand. The average review is misleading. Read before you buy.

I personally need a perfect fit for a keyboard cover for it to be worth it so I took a chance with these and so far Im very happy with the purchase. Its thinner than any other keyboard cover Ive seen and the typing actually feels even better with this than it does on the actual keyboard (I actually like the keyboard feel and wanted a cover that wont take away from it- but this even enhanced it). There is no print on the cover itself which is great because the backlit feature works flawlessly through these. The edges align perfectly as well so you cant really notice the edges of the cover- excellent! Another concern of mine is with lifting- I cant stand it when covers get worn out and start lifting around certain keys, mainly on the space key- but there is absolutely no lifting on these. It even comes with transparent adhesive in its own separate packaging in case you do get lifting or movement based on your typing style and want to "tape" the cover down on certain keys to prevent movement. Finally, and arguably the most important for me, there were no streaks left on my MacBook screen after closing the lid with this cover on it. Ive had this experience in the past and its quite tedious having to wipe the screen every few days or so. You also want your Retina display to be as crystal clear as possible, which these ensure. And to top it off, this keyboard cover is washable too. Perfect for when dust/dirt accumulates over time and usage. If youre in the market for a keyboard cover for your MacBook Pro w Touch Bar, this is exactly what youre looking for.

Absolutely thin and nearly fell into place when installing. So far, dont even need to use any of the sticker accessories to keep it in place, its staying put on its own! The material does help reduce the click of the keyboard significantly. I was incredibly surprised by how loud the new mac keyboard was, and almost embarrassed when I took the mac into a lecture one evening to take notes. The cover helps reduce the click SIGNIFICANTLY. However, the new mac keyboards are not forgiving with tactility, and the thin cover will impact the feeling of typing, as well. A trade-off, but this is more to do with Apple than the design of this cover. The unit was well packaged with a hard plastic backplate to maintain the shape of the keyboard cover film and included removable adhesive stickers that you could cut to size and apply around the keys. I will say, they did a premium job of packaging this and even included a small card explaining why the touch panel is not covered - which completely makes sense (would interfere with function, touch panel would blur and it is already scratch resistant.) They also include a coupon for $10 off their form-fitting leather case, which again, is overpriced ($39.99 for 15" model) - there are some fantastic form-fitting cases for half that (like TomToc, which includes a closed cover) and Soyan which also has a flap cover and just over $10. Minus one star for price - I paid $12.95 as of this review, and its not worth it. I would have liked to explore other options but was desperate to get a cover before the next lecture to help with sound.

Recently purchased a new 2017 MacBook Pro and like the one owned previous, I opted for a keyboard cover, well with the new design of MacBook Pro, for me this new cover was disappointing, reason being there is so little key tactile response with the new keyboard design from Apple that when I used this cover. It was like typing on a bare desk. No tactile response whatsoever, I took it off and found what little tactile response there was available, even then the learning or adaption curve is going to be a chore for me coming from a late 2012 MacBook Pro retina model. Requested Amazon allow me a return/refund and got it. I take great care of my laptops anyway but wanted the additional protection but alas its like typing on a bare wooden desktop.
