This keyboard is one of the best I have ever used. It is an ergonomic keyboard well designed. Typing is easy. Installation is very easy. Windows 10 recognized it immediately by model number. The mouse also works great, it works better for me than much more expensive ones I have bought before. The mouse has a lot or programmable features. The keyboard is not large. It fits perfect on my table and does not look bulky or take up too much space. The color and look is beautiful. There are plenty of programmable keys on the keyboard also. It has volume controls and pause and play buttons for music. Has a lot of pre programmed keys on the top rows. I even love the clacking of the keys. The keyboard is very durable and easy to clean. The only problem, if even I can consider it a problem, is that batteries on the mouse do drain pretty fast. I think this is a great value and an excellent keyboard. I love the look of it and the feel of the keys. The mouse, for me, fits my hand perfectly and is easy to use.

BUYER BEWARE. I bought this keyboard on recommendation from my computer guy. It was really nice ... while it lasted. A little more than a month into using it, the keys suddenly stopped working half the time. Id type, but only half the words would register. In looking for a solution online, I found all of the negative reviews here. Wish Id taken the time to read them before buying. Sad to waste so much money. The mouse is still hanging in there though, as if that makes a difference. ~Renae

I am only reviewing the keyboard, as I am not using the mouse even though it came with it. The battery life of the keyboard is pretty good; it has lasted me several months already. I like the wave aspect, the larger size of some of the keys, and how close the left ctrl key is for me to reach (I use this a lot for work). It has been very good to use for my small hands, and I do feel it helped me with some of the hand/wrist pains I was getting on my previous keyboard. This was one of the main reasons I wanted to make the switch to what I felt could be a little more ergonomic. However, I must say that the keyboard is dreadful when it does not work! The keys do not register every time, and I attribute this to it being wireless. There are laggy episodes that can last for several minutes that make it so I have to type very slowly, and I end up typing with one finger with small breaks in between presses just for it to register. This is unacceptable when your work involves typing quickly nonstop. I should not have to unplug the USB receiver throughout the day, which just temporarily fixes the issue. Also, I cannot play video games with it for very long, especially online multiplayer type games. It seems to respond even worse when playing games for some reason, and I end up having to switch to an old keyboard a lot. I personally would prefer to just be able to use 1 keyboard for all of my computer activities. I did mainly buy this for work, so I am not faulting them as much for this part of it, but its making me unhappy for work and leisure. One more thing, the key lettering started to wear off after a couple of months of use. It does not affect how the keyboard works, but I do not like how soon this occurred. Overall, I feel this would be a better keyboard if it were wired. And maybe use etched keys next time? I am now having to find a new keyboard that will be more reliable, and its unfortunate, as I do believe this could be a great keyboard.

I like how the keyboard feels from an ergonomic standpoint, however, after just 4 uses, neither the mouse or keyboard work anymore. USB device is no longer recognized by my PC. Update - Ive only had this product for 5 weeks. Amazon will not allow a return, and Amazon support directed me to contact Microsoft for assistance. After literally 2 hours on the phone with MS support, they offered a replacement, and I have to pay to ship the faulty unit in. The box is roughly 30x3x9, it would cost me a fortune to box and ship from home. Seriously disappointed.

Ive had several versions of Microsoft keyboards and mice. Ive been using this combo for a year. This pair is a step backwards in form/function from previous models of the "comfort curve" style. Overall, I would like to give this combo a worse rating (probably 2 star). But I wont because I LOVE the "comfort curve" style of Keyboard that Microsoft makes and I hope they continue making them (nobody else does). Everyone else makes either a Full Split keyboard or Straight keyboard. I love this style being in the middle. Keyboard: Its a nice small form factor, takes up less desk space than previous models. However, Linux users will hate this keyboard because of the ESC key - too small and it is set below the plane of all the other keys. That is a HUGE annoyance and I hope Microsoft fixes that in future versions. Mouse: I have nothing good to say about this mouse. First, the thumb button is set too far forward - I have to reach forward for it every time I want to hit the back button. Second, the wheel is extremely difficult to Click, without also rolling the wheel at the same time. This is very different performance from other MS mice I have used. It is horrible! Microsoft REALLY needs to fix this aspect of this mouse! And last but not least, the battery in this mouse doesnt seem to last as long as others I have had. I would recommend buying this set, just for the keyboard, but consider a different mouse. Note To Microsoft: Please continue making the comfort curve keyboards!

Ive had this keyboard and mouse (model 5000) for many years with my Windows 7 computer and it worked fine. Then I bought a Windows 10 computer and found the mouse does not work properly. The mouse pointer lags, jump, hangs, stutters, whatever you want to call it. This jumpiness varies and sometimes it works fine but then start acting up. I havent found any rhyme or reason to it. I thought it also might be interference and I did some testing along those lines without success, but that also wouldnt explain why other makes of mouse work fine. The key board works fine. So I thought maybe a newer copy might work better so I bought the keyboard and mouse again and had the same problem with the mouse pointer. I researched on the internet and found a lot of other people had the same problem. I found lots of on-line advice on how to fix the problem but none of the ideas worked. The computer came with a HP wireless mouse and it worked fine. So did a Leadsail wireless mouse I bought. So bottom line is that other mice work with this Windows 10 but not the Microsoft 5000 mouse. I like the feel of the Microsoft mouse and thats main reason I kept messing with it trying to make it work, but it refuses to work properly. I also dont want to take up another USB port with a separate wireless mouse receiver, but if thats what I have to do to get a mouse to work properly then thats what Ill do. So for Windows 10 I wouldnt recommend this mouse and keyboard purchase. Update 3/05/19. I finally settled on a logitech mouse M525. I like the feel and seems to work great. Previously I reported the keyboard works fine, but lately Ive been having some problems with it as well. Ive noticed that if the hard drive seems to be busy the keyboard skips or doesnt respond. When the hard drive is done or slows down its activity the keyboard starts working again properly. Now Im trying to select another keyboard.

Previous keyboard worked flawlessly...this one the right Shift key is sticking. Ive had it for two months now, but just installed and found the problem. I buy a lot from Amazon for my business. This unit was held in standby as I have 35 desktops at work and keep a spare keyboard/mouse ready for use. Unfortunately the system says my return window has closed, and I can find no other way to remedy. With the inability to return faulty equipment (unless return completed immediately) Ill cannot purchase standby equipment from Amazon. Ill be shopping locally for such things from now on. My feedback is Amazon specific. I think this keyboard/mouse deserves a 5 stars, even though this specific unit is faulty.

Somethings not right... LOVE the layout, LOVE the wrist angle, ABSOLUTELY LOVE the feel of the key press!!! In fact, I bought two - one for home and work. BUT, second day the ENTER key kept sticking even after cleaning and vacuuming it. I exchanged it for another of the same model. Then the second keyboard, started having a couple of keys stick. After cleaning and vacuuming it has been problem free. But for two keyboards to have the same problem, either there was a factory problem that wasnt addressed or there is a manufacturing design problem. (Really hope not!!) Also, the mouse that came in the 6000 series keyboard was a high quality mouse. The mouse with the 5050 I feel is a very cheap mouse.

Overall these are very nice keyboards and mice. These is the newer model keyboard that replaces the 5000 model in this set. The mouse is the same (5000). This is my third keyboard in 6 years though. The other two had the lettering worn off the most often used keys in 1-2 years of daily use. You will see that often commented on in reviews as well. I hope that MS has resolved that with the 5050 keyboard. There is NO other visible difference between the two models. It has the same extra function/programmable keys which are very useful to me and why I keep coming back to this same product even with the lettering problem. The key stroke on this one feels stiffer, but that may simply be the newness. At any rate, I am happy with this set, at least until the lettering wears off.

Keyboard gets five stars, and thats really the reason I bought the set. I wanted something ergonomic but not huge. The mouse is awful. The center wheel spins very freely, which is nice for scrolling, but because of this the center click (i.e. to launch a new tab in Chrome) is nearly nonfunctional. The mouse also loses connection frequently and stops responding for several seconds at a time. Though, the reason I gave up on it altogether is that the right click button squeaks each time its pressed. Its loud enough to be heard by the people who sit outside of my office. Admittedly a relatively small annoyance, but it becomes maddening over the course of the day. So now Im using the keyboard and an old wireless mouse I had laying around. Mildly frustrating because Im now using two of the three ports on my docking station for wireless dongles.
