Ive been using this particular model of Logitech mouse (M310) for a long time. The last Logitech mouse I had, which was also an M310, lasted for 7 years. I prefer the size of this particular model because it fits my hand perfectly. For reference, my hand is about 6 1/2" long from the bottom of the palm to the tip of the index finger with the palm being 4" long and my index finger being 2 5/8" long. I always buy my mice according to the ease of use of it with my particular hand. I am right-handed so I cant speak to whether this mouse works as well for left-handed folks. My mouse is 36" away from the USB receiver in my CPU and it works like a charm. There are no hang-ups, freezing or delays. I dont turn the mouse off at the end of the day and the single AA battery lasts for quite a while - I would say 5-6 months at least. There is no external software to install. You just insert the USB receiver in an available USB port on your computer and turn the mouse on (switch on the bottom). I have a Windows 7 operating system and the mouse installed its own drivers in about a minute. There is no need to reboot the computer; the mouse works right out of the gate.

Really disappointed in this mouse. I bought this mouse on June 10th looking to replace another Logitech mouse that I had. At the time of this review, its July 29th, and Im having the same problems that I had with my old mouse. I use this mouse as an office mouse, probably around 6-8 hours a day, and the mouse is broken already. Whenever I try to click on something, it occasionally will just not click, which doesnt sound as annoying as it is until youre actually trying to open up a tab and youre wondering if your computer is just slow or if the tab isnt opening because it never actually registered the click. It also makes dragging and dropping things a pain because it tends to let things go in the middle of the drag and then I have to start from the beginning; same thing with highlighting. I like the fact that its cordless. I have a laptop with the USB slots all on the left side of my computer, so a corded mouse would be really inconvenient for me, as it would have to stretch all the way around the back of my laptop. I like the way this mouse fits in my hand and I like the little scroll wheel, thats never given me problems, but Im really disappointed that this mouse didnt even last two months and I have to look into getting another one. Every six months, maybe, but at this point I think Im going to have to look into another brand. Sorry, Logitech.

I purchase IT items for a small company. Over the last few years I have bought 11 of these mice for our CAD users. Our CAD users want a full size mouse and this fits the bill. They work well. However, one thing I have to warn you about. If you are a heavy user of the middle mouse button (not the wheel but actually pressing the button), the switch on the middle mouse button has a tendency to fail so pressing it will no longer do anything. 7 of the 11 failed in this way, usually between 6 - 24 months of use. Our CAD users press the middle mouse button hundreds of times a day so if you dont expect to be doing that you should be fine.

Beware buyer, if you buy this item and need to return, Amazon will tell you that you can NOT return it! Nowhere on the description of this item does it say this! It doesnt matter if it is defective, they will not take it back. BUY AT OWN RISK!

I have been using a Logitech wireless mouse for years. One day when I went to use the computer, the mouse was gone. The cat had made it disappear into that other dimension where cat toys go. Of course, I got a new Logitech wireless mouse. This one has a smaller USB plug. It is small enough that it can be stored inside the mouse next to the battery. It feels lighter than my old mouse. It preforms well. The price is good. I will have to keep this one away from the feline.

I have yet to actually use one of these, so I cannot yet comment on functionality or reliability. Thus, I am choosing a "neutral" three-star rating for the time being. However, I wanted to share a photo showing that the M185 mouse is NOT what I would call a "full size" mouse. Rather, it is slightly smaller. Heres a photo comparing it to a Logitech M310, a basic wireless mouse that I do consider to be a full size mouse, and also a Logitech M325, a "mini" laptop mouse. As you can see, the M185 is the same approximate width and height as the full-size M310, but is about 3/4 of an inch or so shorter. Its still larger than the M325 mini laptop mouse, but anyone who orders the M185 expecting a truly full-size mouse...like I was...may be a little disappointed.

I used this mouse for about 7-8 years (fairly intense daily use) before finally needing a replacement. Every few years, the left mouse clicker will lose recoil, so that when you single click it starts to read it as a double click. There is a relatively simple fix for this easily searchable on the internet. You have to take it apart, but thats doable if you are even moderately handy. I performed it once a few years ago and it worked like a charm. Then recently I tried to perform it again, and accidentally broke the little metal piece. So I bought a new one and am happy again. Hoping for another 7-8 years. I may order a backup at some point in case this model ever goes out of production.

I have two of these I use for gaming. I tried fancier, more expensive ones with gaming buttons and special ergonomic design, but they caused fatigue and flared up my tendonitis. This simple, cheap one, surprisingly is easy on the hand. I play a mmorpg for hours daily, 12+ hrs at a time on the weekends, and this does not aggravate my tendonitis at all. Also, it is very responsive. I was concerned that the cordless feature would result in response lag, but I have not had any issues with that at all. It is just like a corded mouse (I still win all my guilds battle bids every week, even with hot competition :D). I have another cordless mouse with a similar style from a different company and I dont use it because it has response lag. I never have an issue with the Logitech ones. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because this particular one that I got from Amazon has a battery seating issue. The battery does not stay in place well, so in the middle of a battle, my battery will shift and my mouse loses power D: I have the same model in red that I bought elsewhere, and it does not have this problem. It may just be a defect of the one I have. Simple solution - tape the battery in place xD. Another reason I give it 4 instead of 5 is that it does not have auto-off like another cordless model that I have. That is a very nice feature that would make this model pretty much perfect.

Does not work at all and they won’t take it back or refund my money!!!!!! We buy a heck of a lot of stuff from Amazon. What a crap way to treat customers.

This particular Logitech wireless mouse works great. It is lightweight, has rubbery grips on each side, slides nicely, and is the correct size. The scroll wheel works smoothly as well. It has a nice little storage slot for the USB receiver. So, if you are going to use this for a laptop or tablet, the mouse becomes very portable; harder to lose the USB receiver. I have three of these, two for PCs (work and home office) and one for my laptop. Its nice to have the same mouse for all devices. I would recommend for anyone in search of a wireless mouse. My mom has the smaller version of this mouse, and she likes it as well. The smaller version seems to be ideal for those with smaller hands.
