I was in the process of building my small kids a PC for school. Being a kid, you obviously have smaller hands. Another aspect I didnt think about was that one of my kids is left-handed. Ive always had right-handed oriented mice and never gave it another thought. I went with a generic Chinese mouse from a company called VicTsing. To summarize that product, it was -5 stars. The USB transceiver dongle broke (cheaply made), the mouse didnt communicate with the transceiver despite having fresh batteries half the time, and their customer support is non-existant! I started shopping around for "small ambidextrous mice" and this Logitech came up. Ive owned many Logitech devices before (speakers, remotes, mice, keyboards) and have always been pleased with them. This is double the price but at least I know I have a quality product. No issues whatsoever so far!

I liked my old m315 better but when it finally died on me after several years faithful service, this was the mouse I came up with as best replacement for the price. Optical sensor isnt quite as versatile (inaccurate on bedsheets) and the "micro precise" scroll wheel basically means it barely clicks from one spot to the next, which is not very good for PC gaming playing anything that requires actual precise scrolling. Also not a fan of needing 2 batteries, old mouse took only one at a time, and i may have used 4 batteries total in its lifetime. Also, this web scrolling capability is pretty much useless, I almost never click "forward" and you can just hit backspace to go back a page. Hopefully that phases out by the next time I need to buy a mouse.

So, Ive used this for several months and right out the gate I messed up ordering this because it does NOT have a "go back" button on the side which is imperative to me because I do so much research and now I have to actually scroll to the top of a page and click on the back arrow. I know that sounds minimal effort but its a big deal when Im researching hundreds of pages a day. I just assumed that all the new Logitech mouse would have this as a standard feature. So, as soon as I can justify purchasing a new one I will make sure to look for the "Back" button on the side. Also, I find that I have to click almost always more than 1X for the mouse to acknowledge my click.

Most comfortable mouse in my hand: combination of weight and compact size is just right for office and travel, IMO. (I wear a mens size M in gloves; if your hand is larger the M525 probably will feel too small.) Easy to control, I have no issues with the scroll wheel. Reliable over the long term. Battery seems to last forever. Ive connected this mouse with a couple of Dells and Mac over the last 4-5 years. If youre a Mac user there is no reason to use a mouse without a "right click" feature. I use basic office productivity software, no video editing or art design, so I dont want a mouse cluttered with "features". I prefer a 3-button mouse for the simplicity. Back to buy another while I can, because Ive tried several other models but all the newer ones feel too light and insubstantial, and the full size models just feel bulky after using this for awhile. What could be improved? Logitech, if youre reading, can you please make a bluetooth version of the 525 that works without the receiver?

I really love this mouse...I bought one to use at home. I went to test it at work and it never came back home, I bought another one for home. So far, the battery life is excellent. The battery does indeed lasts quite a while. The one at work, Im still using the same batteries (regular Duracell) and its been over one year and it still going strong. I use it everyday (M-F) at work and I even leave it turned on overnight. Coworkers also tried to prank me by taking out one of the batteries...and I was still able to use it...whose laughing now lol. Theres only two small cons...small enough that it doesnt cost a star. It seems the distance of the mouse to the dongle isnt very far. Effective range is like 3 feet. Any further than that, the mouse pointer starts skipping. My fix is my monitor has a USB on it, so I just use that and it works perfectly. The other little thing is that within a year or so, I had to change out the feet already. The original ones were still kind of working, but it just began to scrape against my desktop. I was able to purchase new feet...and it works great. I love the size, because I use my fingers to move the mouse instead of my wrist...reduces carpel tunnel. It is smaller than your typical mice, but not tiny. The wheel was a surprise, because the clicks are very close to each other and very accurate. I could scroll slowly or zip through a long page without a lot of effort. Im so glad it has the side-to-side wheel buttons for forward and backwards, since I use that a lot too. The accuracy of the mouse pointer is quite high. Perfect for work...very decent for gaming. Its nothing like the settings as a Razor, but out of the box, this mouse is still good. Highly recommend...especially if you could get it at $17.99 or less? For this mouse, Any from $25 and below is worth the price.

I have been a fan of M510 for years. So this M525 had some BIG shoes to fill. First ~ Logitech unifies the connection per device or set. When I purchased the last 3 - M510s they were in a set with the K350 keyboard. Dont throw the wireless USB connector away. The M525 is an addition. So you will need 2 ports. Back to the M525. I fell in love with it in mere seconds. It is FAST ! the wheel is superb. The "click" sound is minimal. The right/left control on the wheel will take getting use to. No de-dents on the wheel, smooth. This is a smaller class mouse, not the older size class. Ita even a bit smaller than the M310 on my second computer. Comfortable ~ YES. Forgiving without a mouse pad ~ yes. On sale for under $20 ~ a must have. PLUS you get Logitech superiority ! Logitech should bundle the M525 & K350 board. That would be an awesome set.

Ive had more then a few V450 and M505 type mice on my home and work computers. My current M505 started acting up after a long service life so I picked up a blue M525 as a replacement. I do like the M525 scroll wheel better than the M505. The rest of it is pretty much the same function as the M505. I can tell Logitech cheaped out on the on/off switch. I use that switch often to save battery life when not in use or during transport. I feel like Im going to break this flimsy switch, its noticeably harder to grip with a finger, and it is pretty vague if I actually moved it or not. The M505 on/off switch was perfect. The M525 on/off switch is a cheap cop out which I hope does not speak for the rest of this product. Time will tell.

Just arrived today so dont know about battery or durability but this seems like a great, well made mouse. I like the simple, easy and functional design. Right/left clicks, scrolling wheel that is the smoothest I have EVER used and so nice to be able to page left/right just by tilting the scroll wheel rather than trying to depress a side button. Highly recommend this mouse

I purchased (2) Logitech Wireless Mouse on same day (this one - M525 & Logitech M185). This Purchase provided (4) Logitech Wireless Mouse for our personal use & different (Name Brands) for our different Laptops. I am female I have set All of 4 “Logitech Mouses”. They are easy to use & install & or to set up for Computer use! Logitech has always been Brand I trust! I received them & opened box- but Not the original packaging & left the Amazon Box. I became ill & it took 6 wks to get better. So I opened Mouse M525 & Logitech Mouse M185. Logitech M525 was quite a bit heavier (than Logitech M185). It was solid & would be great for a Desk Top however I needed them for my laptops at home & if we traveled. I thought I would give it a try anyway. It Never worked! No matter what I tried, it didn’t work. Too late to send it back. The reason I gave it a low score was because it was still in original packaging & never opened until my health turned around. I guess if you (or even myself) buy one to CHECK IT OUT IMMEDIATELY! So if you need to send it back - you can! Logitech Mouses has been great at work, home & over years of use! (I went for my Computer Science Degree In 1986- when all you saw was a blinking cursor on a green screen- so I have used & installed many “Logitech Mouses” a long time).

UPDATE: Difficulty was erratic cursor disappearing, freezing and jumping -- was found to be because I plugged the receiver into a back USB port that was between two other connectors and perhaps shielded from the location 4 ft away from the mouse. I called Amazon tech assistance and they politely offered a refund if I returned the item, but I wanted to troubleshoot further and it paid off. I had loved this mouse in the beginning and really wanted to fix the issue. I am pleased with the outcome. Original Review: Started out saying this might be the best mouse in years, but shortly after getting it, it began "going to sleep" and you cant get it to wake up without pulling the batteries. It might be something to do with having 3 desktops in this office, but they were here when this mouse was new. Very frustrating... it can be working fine, then you type a few minutes and the mouse has frozen in place, cant wake it up by clicking any button or even banging it lightly. Then a few minutes later its working again. Tried new batteries 3 times, but the only way I can reliably wake it up is to remove and replace the batteries (two). Sometimes the cursor disappears, sometimes it just lies still and laughs at me.
