I have big hands so I wanted a big mouse to attach to my new HDMI KVM and this unit looked like it would be ideal. Size ise it is great and it has the legendary Logitech contoured fit that I love. The mouse performs well and it does what it says, however I almost returned it as the instructions are pretty vague to say the least and whilst packing it up to return it I accidentally found the issue. When they talk about super fast scrolling what they mean is that the button on the back of the mouse behind the scroll wheel toggles the friction click on the scroll wheel on or off. when it is on, the scroll acts just like a normal scroll, however when turned off the wheel is a heavy cast item and you can spin it and the flywheel effect will get you from line 1 to line 6,000 on an Excel spreadsheet in under 30s. Now I know how it works I appreciate the feature, but trying to use it to do AutoCAD with the scroll wheel in freewheel is like trying to catch a real mouse in your house! Overall I am pleased and would recommend this product to others just note how it works!

Have used Logitech mice and keyboards for years, and have always had no issues. Think this is likely more of a problem with their SetPoint software than the actual hardware. Seemed to work OK when I first hooked it up. But then I got a case of stupid a couple of days later and downloaded/installed the Logitech software and its been a disaster ever since. I work in AutoCAD a lot, and the scroll button in the middle now seems to be possessed, and in CAD it will zoom in, out and all over the screen without the mouse even being touched. Has really killed productivity. Does similar stuff when using the wheel to scroll through pages in a document file, on web sites. Uninstalled SetPoint, and while somewhat better has not totally corrected the problem. i poked around on Logitech forums and this appears to be a big issue with the software package. Logitech should have pulled it down or corrected it in my opinion, because frankly it sucks. I found some pointers on the Logitech forums on multiple manual steps that can be taken to remove all remnants of the software (because apparently uninstalling does NOT totally remove it), but that seems to be a PIA on me to fix THEIR dysfunctional software. Dinging them 2-3 stars because of that, for wasting my time.

I am a software developer and thus behind a computer nearly 40 hours a week. I bought this mouse because I didnt like the standard issue mouse that came with my work computer. It has worked very well for the past 5 years. Recently I started noticing issues with the left mouse button. I switched to another mouse to make sure it was the mouse and not the software or operating system. Sure enough, it was the mouse. I think it just finally wore out after all this time. I like the design of this mouse. It fits comfortably in my hand. I really like how quiet the buttons are on this. I didnt realize how quiet it was until I switched to another mouse. No complaints other than that it gave out on me but I guess thats to be expected.

This is a great mouse for money! It has forward and back thumb buttons, and left right tilt scrolling wheel, which is great if you work in Photoshop or another application in which you may need these controls. I was hoping for something a little wider, or higher because my pinky knuckle tends to cramp on smaller mice. This mouse is bigger as in extended in the palm area, which is okay, as it does make the mouse more comfortable to hold.

Im pretty picky when it comes to computer accessories nowadays. I play games, so I want a wired one, and I want only two extra buttons. One for voice chat in Discord/Ventrilo/TS, and one for in-game voice chat. I dont want it to have a gaming appeal either. No crazy colored lights, cool logos, or fancy-edged designs. This mouse does the job well. The only con I can think of is that you can feel the mouse wheels weight shift back and forth if you shake it rapidly on your desk. Also, I dont see much use for the wheel-lock button.. but whatever. Other than that it works great and doesnt look ridiculous like most gaming gear. It pairs well with my Logitech keyboard too. I am a Logitech fan, but it was like the mouse had a timer in it. On one day short of a month after purchase it died for no reason. And I mean died! I tried it with an HP, an Apple, and a Dell. No use. I think it is telling that the price of the item had fallen by nearly four dollars since I purchased it. I also checked the questions section and found that such sudden death of this device is not unusual. I am a fan of corded devices over bluetooth since they are usually more reliable. This is a sad exception to both corded reliability and Logitech reliability.

Ive been using this mouse for 3 years now and it stills works great. I love the shape, it really works well for right-handed people. As for the left-handed folk out there I am not sure how well it will work, as the curves on the left and right side of the mouse are asymmetrical. The laser allows the mouse to move the pointer in a silky smooth fashion, and the buttons emit a nice soft clicky noise. I do not use the forward and back buttons, although on occasion I will accidently click on them causing my browser to go to a previous page. This is annoying, and the only way to disable the buttons is to install Logitechs SetPoint software. Unfortunately, the SetPoint software does more harm than good. I am on Windows 10, and when installed the SetPoint software causes a bad delay when using the scroll wheel. That is, the window that I am trying to scroll does not scroll until 1 or 2 seconds after Ive scrolled the wheel. It is very annoying and I ended up uninstalling SetPoint.

Pros: This mouse fits my right hand quite comfortably. The price is pretty decent for a mouse. I like the simple and clean aesthetics. The mouse wheel in hypermode spins very freely. It has just enough buttons for most peoples needs. Software from logitech lets you remap them to w/e you want. But it is NOT worth it as the software makes the pointer acceleration very awkward. Using the default windows settings works best for me. The textured coating on the mouse feels good. Cons: The left and right buttons are very loud. It sounds like I am stapling paper when I click on things. If my baby is near by and sleeping hed wake up. At least twice as loud as the blue cherry MX switches on mechanical keyboards for sure. The DPI is too low for gaming but also maybe too low for business use. It is hard to be precise with this mouse. The mouse wheel can be locked so it doesnt spin freely but it is still very very loose and feels awful in locked mode. The mouse wheel lets you side scroll by tilting it from side to side, but it feels so loose that when you try to middle click on something it often tilts the wheel. If you middle click a lot look elsewhere otherwise youll go mad. The mouse is very light and feels somewhat cheap because of it.

This was extremely disappointing to see how much lower the build quality on Logitech mice has gotten over the last few years. I bought this to replace a previous m500 that finally gave up the ghost after many years of good service but have resorted to using a spare m310 since the buttons on this are too twitchy to use. buttons click when you breathe on them so no amount of software tuning can eliminate that but even with tuning scroll and overall pointer accuracy are considerably less precise than my original. Tried replacing but no improvement.

UPDATE FEBRUARY 2015: This is the 3rd mouse Ive had with the same problem. The cable or cord keeps shorting out after several months. There is no replacement cable or replacement cord for this mouse. I bought the one one ebay for the G500, but it does not fit. Plus the scroll wheel does keep shifting around. When it works, it works great, but these two problems really can make you tear your hair out sometimes. UPDATE OCTOBER 2014: Got an exchange through Amazon. No hassle. Kudos to Amazon. However, the replacement mouse has the same problem with the scroll wheel, which likes to roll on its own back to its preferred location. Seems like one point of the wheel is heavier than the rest and prefers to be down. Either that or the axle is bent. Either way, same defect in both mice. The web has a lot of people complain about this problem, not just on this mouse but other mice with the free scroll function. It is a design defect that Logitech will not acknowledge nor fix. As an example, Google search "M705 scrolling problem" or "G700S scrolling problem" at the Logitech forums website. You may need to go to cache because some of these threads have apparently been deleted. The Logitech support specialist on these threads just dismiss the problem. A shame. UPDATE 7/2015 After using this mouse for a while I found that if you open up the mouse and stick a tiny bit of lint or tissue next to the scroll wheel, you will have much less of a "drifting" problem of the wheel rotating on its own. That problem is fixed for me. It tracks really well. However, the cable started shorting out right near where the cable enters the mouse. To fix this I used a razor blade to carefully strip the rubber off the cable, found the site of shorting, and twisted the copper wire back together. Put some electric tape around the cable, and voila. Its working like new. Wish the cable werent so much in the way sometimes, but read that the wireless versions may not track as well as wired. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The free scroll function theoretically is attractive, but while on this function on this particular mouse, if you take your finger off the scroll wheel, the page will still scroll up or down several lines or sometimes up to 2/3 of the page by itself, which is really irritating. If you are on free scroll and want to stop at a certain point on the page and not have the page drift up and down, you have to put your finger on the wheel again to stop it, but of course now you are at a point on the page you didnt intend to be at, and if you take your finger off the wheel, there goes the page drifting again, so you end up wasting a lot of time adjusting your cursor location, without success unless you switch back to the click scroll mode. I find that if I switch back to the click mode once I get to the vicinity on the page I want, then I have more control over where my cursor stays at. However, the click mode scrolling on this mouse is too slow and stodgy for my routine needs. In my opinion, this is pretty shoddy functionality for free-scroll. Free-scroll shouldnt work like that. It should scroll until your finger stops the scroll wheel, and then stay at that point on the page and not drift up and down. It seems like the wheel tends to scroll on its own until a specific side of it is facing up, as if its weight is not balanced so that one side of it is heavier and likes to be down or as if the fulcrum is not centered. That is a design flaw and this should go back to the drawing board. I bought two of these mice. For the first one, the drifting problem was mild, somewhat hindering but tolerable. For this second one that I just purchased, the drifting problem is pretty bad. Maybe I got a lemon this time, or has this become just the "standard" for these mice? I certainly hope not the latter, because you would think that a company like Logitech would have higher standards than that. There are ways to open up a regular mouse, undo a cog, and make your own free-scrolling mouse with or without this drifting problem for much cheaper than 25 bucks. Can someone in the know tell me whether it would be worthwhile for me to try to exchange this mouse for another one, or do they all work like this these days?
