First off, I really like the way this keyboard feels, and when it works, its awesome. Unlike others, I have had no issues with battery life; its at 98% right now after using it all day today. However, I currently have a K750 which is a replacement for a previous K750 I had, which also eventually had the problem that caused me to replace it with this current one. The problem is that sometimes, the keyboard will just... stop sending keystrokes to the computer. Or itll delay sending them for a second or two or five. Or itll double-up on a single keypress. Or triple-up. Or itll duplicate a series of keystrokes. -- begin demmonstrationin of the problem -- If yoou type a lot, having to constantly go back and edit things youu typed correctly but that the kkeyboard sent iincorrectly to the computer is aggravating beyond all rrecokoning. This lasstt section heere was typed without ccorrecting the wooords after the fact - Ive just left the text as the keyboard sent it too the computer (after typing everything carefull y and correctly, though quickly). If your keyboard did thhiss to you, would you give? (that should read give it more than one star, but the keyboard didnt transmit the part after give to the computer so I had to retype it here so youd understand what I was trying to say and that Im not a complete lunatic) (good times)

If I had written this review two years ago this would have been 5 stars. Great feel, very similar to my Microsoft equivalent and to top it off solar powered. Thats where I was wrong! As many others are slowly discovering this is a disposable keyboard, that is to say after 2-3 years its very likely your battery which holds the solar charge dies. That battery is not user replicable so you are left with a useless lump of shiny plastic destined for landfill! This isn’t even touching on the environmental ethics of making such a product which would otherwise last many many years, disposable. Makes good business sense from Logiech’s point of view, but not so much from mine as a consumer. After many weeks of arguing with Logitech and them refusing to replace it or repair it, I tried to change the battery myself. Even if you can find the correct type of battery, the keyboard wont then bind with the computer after replacement. So, in the bin it goes!!! With Logitechs stance on the battery issue, I can in no way recommend this product and I will (partly out of spite, and partly due to poor product design and customer service) not be buying another Logitech keyboard. A keyboard at this price is not a product that should need to be replaced every 2-3 years!!

So I have had the Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard (the original when it first came out) for almost 6 years now! Bought it back in September 2011, when solar keyboard was quite the novelty (at least in my opinion). Love it and ready to buy another one (NOT as a replacement) for my new office. The original one is still going strong, allowing me to write this review. Now, as much as I love this keyboard, I did have to replace the rechargeable 3V Lithium button cell battery in 2016. The battery at that time cost $6, well worth it considering that it brought life back to my favorite keyboard. This means the original rechargeable button cell battery that came with the keyboard lasted more than 4 years! In summary: Pro: Durable, comfortable, sleek, elegant, and contemporary looking. You know. A friend of mine has this keyboard! It was WONDERFUL! I loved the heft, the design, its being solar. Its been a month and eleven days. The battery per manufacturer boasting is supposed to last three months in utter darkness. It does not. Its had to be charged twice since I bought it. It stops working when the battery is at 30%. Even with the maximum amount of light it can accept to charge, it takes it THREE. DAYS. to charge back up, WITHOUT BEING USED. Mine wont even charge back up to full! It stops charging at 92% and wont consider going up past that, even when left alone to charge for an additional day solid. I understand it turning off at 30% because if a battery gets lower than that, its bad for it, but it is still INFURIATING to have bought a keyboard explicitly for long battery life and being a bit greener, and done everything you can short of deciding to sit under an INDUSTRIAL GARDEN GROW LAMP ALL DAY and the product doesnt deliver as it says its supposed to. Update 6/11/2018 - I contacted Logitech for a replacement, and they sent one gladly. It seemed to work great for a while, but after two months it too seems to have broken. The second one is now not charging correctly.

This has to be one of the worst ideas ever. While there are people trying to save the planet by going green, Logitech decides to bet the life of this keyboard on the battery inside. once the battery goes bad -which in some cases that happens as soon as a couple of months, you have to throw it out. Ive gone through 3 of these in the last couple of years, although two were replaced by either Amazon or Logitech. The last one just died and apparently its out of warranty so it cannot be replaced. I placed an order for a couple of rechargeable batteries from Amazon, it seemed like the battery started to charge on both cases, then the power reserve started to drop before it reached 100% even with more than enough light (yes, there was a happy face on the software) Anyway, as I said before, in the last couple of years I ended up throwing away 3 of these plus five batteries. Not great for the planet is it? This would be a great keyboard if you could replace the batteries on it and still have it work.

Logitech K750 Wireless Solar Keyboard Works well. The battery died after about 2.5 years of use. Although the manufacturer states that the battery is not replaceable, I pulled out the carrier and discovered that the battery was a rechargeable ML2032 lithium button cell. It had a label that warned you not to replace the battery. Well the keyboard is dead without a battery so I went ahead and put a fresh ML2032 in the carrier. The keyboard has worked just fine since replacing the battery (about 1.5 years ago). Today the Mac version of this keyboard died (battery lasted about 3.5 years on the Mac version). Same thing-replace the battery and the keyboard is working again. Photos attached from the replacement of the battery on the Mac version of the keyboard. Photos show the battery carrier partially pulled out from the keyboard, removed from the keyboard, battery removed from carrier-note battery type with label pulled back and Solar App report after battery replaced. Note that a 2032 battery has a nominal capacity of 0.21 WH and could generate some heat if shorted. If you replace with a ML2032 or LIR 2032 you should have no problems. A non-rechargeable CR2032 may be a different matter. Note that Amazon has these batteries for sale. Your local retailer is not likely to have them.

I love and loathe this product, all at the same time. This is a long one, but hopefully the points make sense. LOVE: 1. The speed at which I can type on it. 2. How responsive the keys are. 3. How flat the keys are and the overall size of the keyboard. 4. The fact that it is wireless and "solar." 5. How light but well-built the keyboard feels. 6. The very minimal design as I dont need an extra dozen or so "gamer" or programmable keys. 7. The Solar App is clean, informative, and necessary to understand if youre maximizing the recharge capability of your keyboard. LOATHE: 1. The battery usually lasts 2-ish years, then the keyboard becomes a doorstop as you cannot replace the battery. 2. "Solar" in function only. It requires a fairly strong light source to compensate for consistent use. 3. The "stays charged for 3 months in total darkness" is great and all as a marketing tactic, but who leaves their keyboard untouched for months on end? This leads you to believe the keyboard will retain a charge while being used and it really doesnt. If youre a gamer or use the keyboard for a heavy word processing type of job, you need to have a strong light source on the keyboard or it will be depleted within 36 hours. That said, the Solar App specifically states that with a 100% charge, "Your current reserve lets you use your keyboard in total darkness for three months-so you can type all you want." Thats a rather bold lie unless you use the keyboard only a few minutes a day over that three month period. 4. I literally use the LED flashlight on the back of an old cell phone and prop it up a few inches above the keyboard in order to provide enough light to keep a solid charge through heavy use. I dont see how ambient light from outdoors (or especially off even a very large monitor) could possibly recharge the keyboard, unless its sitting right next to a window. 5. There is no indicator that you have Caps Lock enabled. I often find myself typing in a "bad password" and its because Caps Lock is on and I didnt realize it. Given there is an app that shows you the charge, there should be an overlay function or light on the keyboard to notify you. 6. Very often, the charge % is wrong. Just now, it says my keyboard is at 82%. However, if I repeatedly tap on the light button that calls up the Solar App, it will very gradually (over 20 or so taps) raise the charge 1% at a time until it finally stops increasing. OTHER CONSIDERATIONS 1. If you prefer a keyboard that has a wrist rest, this isnt for you. 2. If you prefer a keyboard that has a solid angle to it, this probably isnt for you. While there are two "feet" that can pop up the keyboard, theyre very slender and dont offer a ton of stability, especially if you have a firm keystroke. TLDR: Bottom line -- the minimal keyboard does a fantastic job at being a keyboard, but the solar recharge will require a stronger light source than expected. Also, while a corded keyboard may last longer, I really havent found anything that can compare with how this solar keyboard feels when in use.

Let me start by saying that I really liked this keyboard for a year+. Very nice tactile key feel, responsive and very little problem with lag or connectivity. If i ever had a problem with connectivity a Windows restart would almost certainly fix it. The problem is that it is a VERY nice keyboard with a VERY VERY VERY SHORT LIFE SPAN. This lasted me a little over a year and then as others have noted the battery would not hold a charge any longer so i started looking for a solution. I purchased a rechargeable battery from batteries plus thinking that that would solve my issue. The battery door on the keyboard is not made to be opened for easy replacement but I didnt destroy the keyboard or ding it up too badly to get the compartment open and the replacement battery with matching numbers slipped right in and appeared to charge. I thought that would be all that would be needed but the new replacement battery would not take a charge and was not consistent with the charging any longer. So a little after a year I had to throw out a mechanically working very nice keyboard. Disappointed in Logitech for creating this "solar" keyboard that will last 1/10 of what my wired keyboard at home has lasted.

My first K750 lasted several years before it was dropped to the floor and shattered all over the place. My bad. I purchased a replacement 18 months ago and the battery is dying even as I try to type this. The battery is replaceable, but it is a PITA to get it out of the keyboard and then there is this little sticker that warns "do not replace the battery". So we are supposed to send a $50 keyboard to the landfill instead of replacing a $5 battery. The product description, however, says the battery life is "infinite". No. Poor design, poor QC. So I bought replacement batteries. Not CR2032s like what you can find in a corner store, those will not work. Needs to be ML2032 or LiR2032 rechargeable types and after reading about the ML2032s, I went and bought the LiR2032s. I like the layout and feel of the keyboard itself, but really have to question whether Logitech is still the industry leader that they once were. UPDATE 3/23 The LiR2032 is the correct battery to use. You only get a couple of chances to get one installed before the battery clip breaks apart, though, so be sure to get it right the first time. Changing out the battery did in fact return the keyboard to functioning again.

This is my second keyboard of this model, and for your straight forward business no hundreds of extra buttons keyboard / lights / knobs etc.. this is excellent. I first encountered one at work, and I liked it so much that when i switched jobs, I had to get another! The keys are the flat low profile type that you would normally find on a laptop, and they make the same quiet laptop key noise. Also being solar powered, this thing just works. looks wise i love the look, its sleek and very business like. The only downsides, at least if you view it as a downside, is that it doesnt have a lot of extra buttons that you can program, but for me that is perfect. It still does have some function keys for at the top for sound and the like, just perfect for me. If you like the laptop style keyboards and arnt looking for extra buttons to program, this is just the ticket.
