So I have had the Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard (the original when it first came out) for almost 6 years now! Bought it back in September 2011, when solar keyboard was quite the novelty (at least in my opinion). Love it and ready to buy another one (NOT as a replacement) for my new office. The original one is still going strong, allowing me to write this review. Now, as much as I love this keyboard, I did have to replace the rechargeable 3V Lithium button cell battery in 2016. The battery at that time cost $6, well worth it considering that it brought life back to my favorite keyboard. This means the original rechargeable button cell battery that came with the keyboard lasted more than 4 years! In summary: Pro: Durable, comfortable, sleek, elegant, and contemporary looking. Con: None *Even the price has come down, bought it for nearly $20 more 6 years ago! Maxell ML2032 Rechargable 3V coin cell lithium motherboard cmos battery

Logitech K750 Wireless Solar Keyboard Works well. The battery died after about 2.5 years of use. Although the manufacturer states that the battery is not replaceable, I pulled out the carrier and discovered that the battery was a rechargeable ML2032 lithium button cell. It had a label that warned you not to replace the battery. Well the keyboard is dead without a battery so I went ahead and put a fresh ML2032 in the carrier. The keyboard has worked just fine since replacing the battery (about 1.5 years ago). Today the Mac version of this keyboard died (battery lasted about 3.5 years on the Mac version). Same thing-replace the battery and the keyboard is working again. Photos attached from the replacement of the battery on the Mac version of the keyboard. Photos show the battery carrier partially pulled out from the keyboard, removed from the keyboard, battery removed from carrier-note battery type with label pulled back and Solar App report after battery replaced. Note that a 2032 battery has a nominal capacity of 0.21 WH and could generate some heat if shorted. If you replace with a ML2032 or LIR 2032 you should have no problems. A non-rechargeable CR2032 may be a different matter. Note that Amazon has these batteries for sale. Your local retailer is not likely to have them.

This is my second keyboard of this model, and for your straight forward business no hundreds of extra buttons keyboard / lights / knobs etc.. this is excellent. I first encountered one at work, and I liked it so much that when i switched jobs, I had to get another! The keys are the flat low profile type that you would normally find on a laptop, and they make the same quiet laptop key noise. Also being solar powered, this thing just works. looks wise i love the look, its sleek and very business like. The only downsides, at least if you view it as a downside, is that it doesnt have a lot of extra buttons that you can program, but for me that is perfect. It still does have some function keys for at the top for sound and the like, just perfect for me. If you like the laptop style keyboards and arnt looking for extra buttons to program, this is just the ticket.

I purchased a K800 keyboard for work and at home in 2008. I loved the keyboard, but it had one fatal fault in both places: battery life. The time between recharging wasnt bad the first year, but deteriorated over time and became a constant annoyance. Replacement with high-quality batteries of the same type never restored the original battery performance. After retiring from my career, I decided that the poor battery performance was intolerable for my home keyboard. Since Logitech had no model upgrade for the K800 that offered better time between charges, I opted for the K750, which promised NO charging. I have been very pleased with my choice, and saved some money to boot. After several months, I have not had to recharge the keyboard once. With the K800, I would have had to charge 3 or 4 times. As far as the keyboard itself is concerned, I can find no noticeable differences. Logitech has always had the best key design, which is why I have stuck with keyboards from them for 30 years. By the way, the Solar App that they provide as download and which is activated by a key on the keyboard works very well. My office is quite bright during the day, so the condition of the batteries is always at a high level. I can see staying with this keyboard for at least 10 years.

Have been using this keyboard for one year (using it type up this review), and it has performed flawlessly. It is left on most of the time; it does not receive direct sunlight, only the occasional light from my desk lam; yet I never had had any battery issues or has it lost charge. Never. To be sure, I have not used the keyboard extensively day in and day out ( no writing of ones lifes memoirs here), only typical daily use surfing, writing e-mails, working on spreadsheets, etc. Never an issue. Some people ding this keyboard for lacking LED lights for Caps Lock and Num Lock. While true, it is hardly an inconvenience. Indeed, if I do not know what the status of the Caps Lock is, i.e., enabled or not, all I need to do is tap on the key. A big box pops up on the screen telling you what the status is: Caps Lock On or Caps Lock Off. The same for the Num Lock key. That is to say that for me, not having these status lights on the keyboard is pretty much a so-what. I also have seen comments regarding loss of function or keystrokes not registering on your computer. While true functional problems may exist, the instances when situations like that have happened to me, although not with this keyboard, is because your USB Bluetooth receiver is probably plugged in right next to or in the vicinity of a device that causes interference at the Bluetooth frequency. Check around your PC to see what else is plugged in. This has happened with my wireless mouse. It is not the fault of the device; it is just a matter of eliminating the interference. This is the bottom line for any review: Would I but it again? Absolutely, without any hesitation. This is one great, amazing keyboard. Love the full layout as well.

This is the 4th one of these keyboards that I have ordered. I love them for work, and for gaming. The soft touch keys are super responsive. The batteries do seem to wear down if you dont have optimal lighting conditions, or if you forget to switch the keyboard off during latent or unused periods. You can order replacement rechargeable coin type batteries on different sites. There is a tendency for buttons to get caught and pop off, and then you need a professional tool to put them back on as they are secured like laptop keys. You need to be careful also when transporting for portable use that the legs under the keyboard do not get caught up as they will rip off, and then most of the time you can put them back on.

The single best keyboard I have ever owned. I have had this keyboard for several years now, and cant imagine using any others. It works flawlessly every time and receives plenty of charge, even in my low light bedroom. I have to keep a steady supply of AA and AAA rechargeable batteries on-hand for my other devices (remotes, mice, trackpads, etc.) But I never have to worry about such hassle with this keyboard. I wish everything could be this low maintenance! The key feel and layout are perfect for this touch typist, not too stiff, not too mushy, and a good throw. Being an old-school Windows user, a keyboard isnt complete without a separate numeric keypad and navigation sections, so that was a requirement for me. My only wish is that they offered a Bluetooth version since ultrabooks have a paucity of USB type A ports.

Absolutely the BEST keyboard Ive ever owned. As a programmer, I am quite picky about keyboards. Ive probably used dozens of different keyboards over 30 years, but the K750 is the most comfortable, productive, responsive and practical keyboard Ive ever used. I know keyboard preference varies greatly from user to user, but everyone Ive recommended this keyboard to loves it. Besides usability, not having to change the battery EVER is icing on the cake. It just feels right when you type on it from the key height to the tactile feedback to key spacing to the key layout. It fits nicely in a laptop bag and has an easily accessible on/off switch so you can clean it without random keystrokes being sent to your computer. Are there additional features I wish it had? Yes! I wish it was backlit. They would have to accommodate 6 star reviews. :) I wish it had dedicated multimedia buttons, but then the key layout may change. I wish it had a wrist wrest, but then it would be bigger.
