First off, the device does NOT connect through your Macs built in Bluetooth. You have to plug Logitechs receiver / extender[...] into one USB port. There is no Bluetooth setup through the System Preferences panel on your Mac. Its just plug and play. Secondly, forget about downloading the "Solar App" from Logitechs website. Its not there after OS5, but it is available in the App Store for free. Its a very nifty and useful utility. The few negative reviews on this product are mostly about short battery life. Im suspecting these users didnt keep their battery charged and didnt use the Solar App. According to Logitechs website the battery will last a full three months with no charging. I will update this review in a few months and let you know. Having said all that, after 48 hours I love this keyboard. The only thing I miss is the light in the Caps Lock key. Thats a small price too pay for the convenience and savings of not changing batteries on my Apple wireless AND the aftermarket numeric keyboard. Its full sized, but nice and slim with a solid feel. I am very happy with this purchase! UPDATE - After 6 month - I use this in a moderately lit room, 80 lux or 100 with the sun through a window. My battery is still showing 100% and everything is working well. After a year, its still performing flawlessly. I bought a Logitech mouse to replace the Apple Bluetooth magic mouse that kept losing the connection. They work fine together on the same dongle .... BUT The paint has work off three of the keys. "E", "O", and "H". See photograph. Hence the downgrade to 4 stars. Ipade 27th months and running. Everything still working flawlessly, the key npaint continues to wear off. E T I O H and N are gone completely, P J and M are fading fast.,

This Logitech solar keyboard for Mac is supposed to be shipped with both a unifying receiver and a wireless extender. I have attached a photo of these two parts as shown in the Logitech owners manual. My new keyboard did not include the wireless extender, so I called Amazon to request that this missing piece be shipped to me. While Amazon was unable to send just the missing wireless extender, they were willing to send a new keyboard. However, the replacement keyboard shipment was also missing the wireless extender. On a separate front, I contacted Logitech customer service directly and conveyed the difficulty I was experiencing in obtaining the wireless extender that is supposed to ship with this keyboard. I also asked them if there was any reason this piece was not currently being shipped with the keyboard. While they did not respond to this question, they did seem willing to provide the missing piece at no charge. However, today Logitech informed me they did not have available stock of the wireless extender and my inquiry would be closed and marked as solved if I did not take further action. While I did take further action and asked Logitech to investigate this problem to see why they are not including a part that is supposed to be included, I do want to alert others of what they are possibly getting themselves into when they buy this keyboard. By the way, the Logitech owners manual indicates the importance of using the wireless extender to avoid radio frequency (RF) interference on Apple models that include the iMac. Without it, I am indeed experiencing some interference issues on an iMac. Update 3-10-18: I continued to discuss the absence of the wireless extender with Logitech customer support. They finally offered to provide a usb extender (see picture) as a no-cost replacement for the wireless extender that was supposed to ship with this keyboard (but did not in two different keyboards received from Amazon). As shown in the image, this is a much more cumbersome arrangement because it involves a wire in what is supposed to be a wireless gizmo. Anyway, I have to say that working with Logitech customer support is a process that appears to be designed to encourage people to walk away without getting any help. Every time I replied (via email) to one of their responses, I essentially had to repeat everything again. It was like I was communicating with a non-human AI customer service non-person. While I did eventually get a gizmo that is supposed to provide the same shielding from RF interference, it is NOT what should have shipped with the keyboard AND I only got it after half a dozen repeat requests to their customer support. Most people will find this process unacceptable and stop at an earlier point. On another score, the keyboard is functioning as it is supposed to do. I am using it in a room with no natural sunlight and the solar charging is working with just artificial light. As noted in at least one other review, you will have to go to the Apple app store to get the free app for monitoring the status of the solar charge. In my case, the meter never goes above 50 on a scale from zero to 500. For anyone who wants to buy this keyboard, be prepared for plenty of issues like the ones I have noted. In my situation, I saw enough problematic reviews before I purchased to add the extra extended coverage for a nominal amount. I recommend that new purchasers do the same.

Ive been in the lookout for this keyboard for a long time. I loved the idea of it being solar powered and that I had to do nothing for it to be charged. The first keyboard I received didnt work and I was really mad. I decided to chill and talk to Amazon Support and they sent a new one the same day free of charge and it worked great! After a few weeks I received an email saying that if I didnt returned the other keyboard (the one that doesnt work) I was going to get charged another $49.99. I got in contact with Amazon Support and they told me I was going to stop getting these emails. Amazon Support is great. But that would be another story... Coming back to the keyboard itself, Im completely in love with it. It works for both Mac and PC (Windows) and what I love the most about the keyboard are of course the solar panels and its dedicated button to know if the keyboard is charging or not. I also like a ton that it has numbers on top and on the right side of the keyboard. About the look, the looks of this keyboard is great... Clean and minimalistic is one of the top reasons I wanted to get it. The keys feel great and smooth too and it has flip out feet at the bottom of the keyboard if you would like to use it at an angle. Pros: - Clean and minimalistic look - Thin & light (not heavy) - Solar panels to charge the keyboard - Wireless - It has a dedicated charging button that lets you know if its charging or not. - No delay when typing Cons: - Had an issue with the first keyboard not charging but the second one I got works great (Personal experience) I decided to get this keyboard mainly because of the solar panel charging. I hate depending on wall power to get things started when I can have it for free from the sun. Another reason is that I had a $6 keyboard and I knew I had to replace it for a better one. I liked the clean and minimalistic look that it has so everything about it caught my attention. I would definitely recommend getting this and if you ever have any trouble with your product, contact Amazon Support and Im sure theyll find a way to help you out. All opinions on this review about the product are based solely on my own experience with it. If you have any more questions about this product, please dont hesitate on asking me and Ill get back to you as soon as possible. I hope you enjoy your purchase!

Im downgrading this from 4 stars to one. I purchased it Dec 2, 2016. today is February 25, 2017. Ive had it for less than 3 months. In the beginning it charged super fast and never drained. It was amazing. However, in the past few weeks it drains in less than a day and no longer charges unless I pop it in the window. And then only charges nicely if the sun is shining. there is no way to know when the caps lock is on or off and this is pretty critical element. My guess is that its not an oversight but a battery saving design element. after all a light on would drain the solar battery faster. the board is super thin but doesnt feel cheap. actually feels nicer than my official thin mac keyboard which I hate because it has no numeric keypad. yes, I know you can order one. but what person in their right mind wants two pieces to a keyboard sitting on their lap board? Because Ive used a logitech mouse for many, many, years (instead of that lame small mac mouse) I already trusted this brand. They keyboard started up right out of the box after peeling off the right plastic bits. That parts super intuitive for getting started. The product box was also intuitive and easy to pull out the keyboard and its USB stick. TIP: if you can find the solar app it will help you keep track of the battery usage. Unfortunately the link on the site does not take you to the solar app. I found it on the apple website. This little app is works with the puzzling icons. You press a button and if the app is installed on your computer it will tell you how much battery life is left. really did love the app. wish Id known about it out of the box instead of stumbling across it when I was looking for reasons why the keyboard is no longer charging like it used to. Apparently it takes TWO days to fully charge IF you do not use it for two days and put it in a sunny window. But I never had that problem in the beginning. And now of course...its simply drains faster than it can charge. It used to be so good it charged by lamplight! The so called "manual" that comes with the keyboard is a tiny bit of paper with microscopic text that you can not read without a magnifying glass. All in all I was happy with the purchase. But now that it cant keep a charge its pretty much a waste of money. Ive ordered a new NON-solar keyboard.

This keyboard worked great for the first 11 months. Then it began losing keystrokes and becoming unresponsive for long periods. Since its got a three-year warranty, I registered myself and the keyboard with Logitech, and attempted to submit a warranty claim. Five times, plus two additional failures. It was and is a nightmare. The first four, Id get all the data entered and all the text, then hit continue or send email, depending on the whim of the page. Id be taken back to the support page and have to start over. The fifth time I got a page that actually accepted my report when I clicked send email. I then attempted to use their contact us page to let them know about the web page problems. Hitting the phone number button gave page not found. Filled out the form to send them email, submitted it - and was sent back to the general support page. Gave up on letting them know about the problem. And after six failures out of seven attempts to communicate with them, Im not encouraged about the rest of the warranty process. Update 1: 12 days after filing the trouble report with Logitech, they sent me an automated email saying their customer service was overloaded. It asked me to provide them a bunch of data which Id already supplied to them in the original report, and sent me links to their troubleshooting steps which Id already tried. Ive replied, well see. In the meantime, this review has been marked down to a single star. Update 2: Logitech didnt respond to my reply, then sent a note saying theyd close my report as solved satisfactorily if I didnt respond. Again. I responded: the keyboard is now in our electronics recycling pile. A few days after that, they sent me a customer satisfaction survey. My response was zeros across the board, with a comment that summarizes this review. End of story.

Do you remember how the old school writers would romanticize their particular typewriter make and model? This is my version of that. Solar powered, with sufficient rechargeable battery to run 20 hours a day, for months, in darkness as you let your darkness out.. banging away at the keys with your angst and anxiety, spewing forth your inequities and insecurities, all on a single sunny days energy. Perfect button size, spacing and bounce... My last one was murdered by one of my sons a month ago with a glass of soda that wasnt even his. Hell never have to wonder why he isnt going to college or in the will. He knows what he did. A month without a k750, is like a month without a correctly spelled word in any rant. A month of wearing out the right mouse button in anger and frustration that google doesnt just "know" what you meant when you clumsily typed mhfgiicfdi... It was magnificent, Google.. Magnificent. Just like the Logitech k750. Just magnificent.

Ive ordered TWO different keyboards for my desktop mac and both have been defective...my luck! I have the Logitech k750 for my windows computer at work (black), and thought that the mac version would be just as good for my mac computer at home but that has not been the case. The first one i purchased wouldnt charge, it got to the point where i would leave it on my window before heading off to work a 13 hour shift and when id return itd show that it was in the green on the battery indicator, but the very next day itd be in the red showing a low battery!! I also found the typing to be very delayed but that couldve been a result of the low battery 85% of the time. I really like this keyboard so i went ahead and ordered another one, and im having the same problem...so im going to return it again. im very disappointed because this keyboard has an amazing feel, a full numeric pad, and its solar powered, but i unfortunately i need something thatll work..this is not it.

This review is more about Logitechs software than the hardware. I have been using this keyboard with a couple Macs (iMac and my Powerbook Pro (2014). The keyboard itself is wonderful and responsive. Used in an extremely dimly lit room and the battery always had a charge. However, when I upgraded to Mac OS Sierra, things were OK for a while then the Keyboard would not connect. Updating the drivers also had no effect. The unifying software would see it paired but not connected. Thinking that because the unit was over a year old, I bought a new one which worked for a few days then back to disappearing. Chat with Tech Support ultimately revealed that "all new versions of OS X tend to break Logitechs software and they will be looking into it." I said the support person that Sierra was beta back in June so they had months to work on this. Frustrating. Logitech software has always been a "bag of hurt" to begin with (mice and scrolling speeds), but this problem has forced me to purchase a regular corded keyboard. Ironically the Performance MX mouse that is also Unifying is still working properly.

This is probably the best keyboard I have ever owned- and Ive owned at least 20 different ones. Let me run down the list of what makes this keyboard so remarkable. 1. Apple-like attention to detail. From the packaging itself, which is efficient, minimal, printed on plain recycled cardboard, and easy to open. It is easy to open and a delight. 2. This keyboard is beautiful- much better than the very nice keyboards that come with the desktop Macs. 3. The keys are the perfect size: bigger than the thin Apple Chiclet keys which Ive never gotten used to as a fast touch typist (80+ wpm) and smaller than full-travel bulky cheap keyboards that come with generic desktops. 4. The keyboard itself is thin, light and beautiful. It is thinner than other wireless keyboards because it has no AAA or AA batteries inside. 5. The solar cells work great, save the environment, and allow for the elegant design. 6. The keyboard does require a USB port for the little wireless thing. One drawback is you "lose" the two USB ports on the Apple wired keyboard. 7. The easy to download App is amazing- it auto installs easily and gives you a visual on your computer screen to show how your batteries are and how many lumens your keyboard is getting. 8. The actual keyboard is EXACTLY laid out like the Mac keyboard- all the function keys work perfectly as designed. 9. Online support is fantastic- simple, clear, and answers all questions. 10. There is a dedicated solar button on the keyboard which you can press to see if you have a decent charge, and if you are getting enough sun. 11. There is absolutely no delay in typing. 12. While Apple gives you a choice: either a wireless keyboard that is truncated and missing the number pad, or a wired full keyboard, this great keyboard offers both at the same time: a full keyboard AND wireless! This is just a wonderful, high quality product. Dont think of it as a standard Logitech product- this one is one of the best devices Ive seen them produce.

Disappointing. The one star is only because it looks and feels great. Had it six months, and the battery life went steadily down to 15% and then 10%, no matter how much sunlight or artificial light I provided. After reading Logitech forums about the same problem, I ordered a Maxell ML2032 rechargeable battery from Amazon, and when inserted it wouldnt even register on the battery life app at all, and would not take a charge. Returned it to Amazon, put the old one back in and have a limited-life battery again. Maxell website states this battery is not for sale except to manufacturers, and it is not available in retail outlets. So, do I buy another $60 solar keyboard and hope I get a good battery this time? Or consider that it sounded too good to be true, and, indeed, it was. I went to Logitechs website, and the link to customer service just freezes. I imagine they have a lot of these complaints. I would warn buyers to avoid this product unless they own stock in Maxell and can get all the batteries they want. Too bad, it could have been a great product.
