I bought this item without looking at the review. At first this item was great, I loved and still do love the fact that its Bluetooth setup. Now I despise this time becuase my buttons began to fall off one by one. Opening and closing the iPad with the case on causes the buttons to fall off..

I usually do not write reviews for items I did not purchase on amazon however I got mine at another retailer before amazon got their stock in and noticed the several bad reviews bringing the overall star rating down and wanted to chime in. This is the BEST keyboard I have ever used for the iPad. The magnet holds it in place very well, the keys are spaced perfectly, and the key travel is excellent for a portable keyboard. To set it up all you have to do is pull the tab on the battery, place the iPad in the case, then go to your Bluetooth settings and select the Folio Keyboard. It will come on by itself every time you open the case and latch it in to place via the magnets. When you take it off the magnets the keyboard turns itself off to save batteries and ensure no accidental key presses if you have it folded back and not using the keyboard. It is also a very nice and sturdy case for the iPad. The material is textured which feels nice and gives it a grip to prevent it from slipping from your hand during transport. As far as the battery complaints, it uses 2 watch type batteries which can be replaced (not charged). The battery compartment is located on the edge of the keyboard closest to the iPad. However this shouldnt be an issue for most people as the batteries are designed for 4 years of usage. Even with extreme usage they should last for 2 years and would only cost.a few dollars to replace. I could never go back to another case or keyboard. Highly recommended!

Update: Dropping to 1 star; keys rubs against screen. * * * This case/keyboard is fairly decent for typists who uses it at a desk. Its also good for watching video/movies at a desk. Away from desk, though, its not terribly useful. Limited to a single angle, and folding the keyboard to the back makes it wiggly and uncomfortable. Definitely not suitable to vertical use. Terrible for use with stylus (Apple Pencil). Bulky and heavy, yet does not lock when closed--theres a chance when dropped, screen side can flip out to get hit. Much better than no case, of course, but for all that bulk and weight Logitech should have add in a lock/clasp. Pro: * Good for typing and video consumption at desk. * Auto wakes and sleep iPad when opening and closing. Con: * Heavy * No clasp; does not lock closed. * No way to hold Apple Pencil or other stylus. * Not versatile: * * Not useful on lap (adds weight and makes holding iPad harder), * * Does not supporter vertical use, * * Single angle in typing mode--only suitable for using on a table; no good for lap. * * Wrong angle for stylus use, at desk or otherwise. * * Folding keyboard to the back of iPad makes for a wiggly, annoying to hold configuration (need hinge and lock-in-place mechanism) Verdict: Its reasonable (if heavy and bulky) protection with a fairly usable keyboard, but its only suitable for use at a desk or table, and only in horizontal layout. This keyboard case will work well for someonw who uses iPad as a writing tool 95%+ of the time, without using a stylus--but why not just get a laptop with bigger and more comfortable keyboard if thats the primary use case? Those who plan to use iPad for media consumption, drawing, and light writing is likely better off getting a light weight cover/case and a separate Bluetooth keyboard.

Thought I loved this keyboard cause as I have owned other in the past from my previous iPads, but with the buttons popping off left and right and the battery not lasting as long as it should. Ive only this keyboard for a few months and when It connects to type it only works half of the time that its supposed to. I love the woven material for the case but why is it so slick?

The battery life for use with IPAD at school is 2 months when using IPAD 8 hours per day. LOGITECH states longer battery life with 2 hours use per day. Batteries are easy to purchase and replace. So far, our IPAD screen is cracked with use of the case and four keys have fallen off. Both the quality and the level of protectiveness are lower than my standards. We will be selecting a different case.

Overall, I gave this a 5 star rating although I do have one complaint. I have used the keyboard for about a month at this point and am extremely satisfied with the key action, quality of the build and the materials used. I really like the exterior covering especially. The case feels very solid and I think it will protect my iPad quite well. My one complaint is the viewing angle: There is only one angle available and it is not adjustable. The angle may be perfect for some folks but is just not quite right for me. (I am tall at 62", so will be less of an issue for folks shorter than me.) On the plus side, the magnets holding the iPad in place when open are extremely strong and it seems there is a very low chance of collapse. (Unlike my old Belkin case on a prior iPad which regularly collapsed when you placed too much pressure on the iPad screen while browsing.) I presume Logitech opted for a tradeoff by going with only one viewing angle, but one in which your iPad is very stable. Although I do not like the viewing angle it is not a dealbreaker for me. The case is quite good overall. I had another Logitech case for my iPad2 a few years back and this is quite an improvement.

After a backlit aluminum alloy keyboard, 2 folio keyboards, this logitech is the best keyboard by far. The previous folio has come really close but this logitech has brought it home. The bigger keys make my typing comfortable and accurate. 5 rows of keys mean you can forget about hitting the Fn key. My favorites are the big backspace and right shift key. These make the world of difference. Logitech knows what they are doing. This was 3 times more costly (no discount) than those of other keyboards, but Im very happy with it.

Absolutely love this case. Dont get the cheaper brands. If you can afford this, get it. I have the 2017 ipad and it fits perfectly. It also fits the 2018 iPad. I had Belkins version of this and loved it, but when I got this one, I loved it even more. The difference is Belkin (although reliable and awesome) is floppy due to the way it is constructed. Logitech is more rigid so you can pick it up without the screen flopping around. I love that I never, ever have to charge it. I cant provide insight into battery life as I have only had this for a few months. It says should last 4 years, but I use it a lot. Even it it lasted a year, I wouldnt care. Its great. Once it needs a new battery, it is inexpensive to replace. Once paired, it has worked fine automatically pairing with the iPad each time you open it. If you run into the unusual situation where it does not, it is very easy to pair again. In the Belkin, the colon/semicolon button was weirdly place, which they did to conserve space and keep keys a good size. The Logitech has this key exactly where it is supposed to be. I highly recommend this case/keyboard. Dont waste your time on the cheaper brands. If you can afford it, get this one. Youll save money in the long run. Adding, this is not for the iPad Professional.

This is by far the best iPad keyboard I’ve had. I tried 5 other (cheaper) keyboards before eventually getting this one as well for my 2017 (Gen 5) iPad 9.7”. All other keyboards had issues, either with weird layouts, bad BT sync (typing a word only to see that almost every character was hit twice) and others. This convinced me to try that keyboard despite the higher price. After using it for a couple of days, I can surely say that it’s well worth every cent! Awesome keyboard, closest thing there is to the Apple Smart Keyboard which is unfortunately not compatible with my device.

Keys started coming off after 7 weeks - 1 week past the return date. A waste of my money and time
