This keyboard shouldnt be sold. I dont know how Dell has managed to keep posting this on Amazon. I purchased this here on Amazon on April 1 and by May 20 it was done. Return window closed there is nothing I can do now. The keyboard disconnects, spam, keys, lags input or simply doesnt write. I work in the IT field so its not I havent tried. This keyboard design is simply defective. Just so you have an idea the following are the reviews from other people on DELLs website. Stops working after a month or two I bought SEVERAL of these keyboards for my entire office, and the majority of my coworkers have returned them to me after only a month or two complaining that it either freezes (wont type for several seconds, then types half of what you typed) or the keys "stick" (not physically stick, but type the same letter "ffffffffffffffffffffffff" a bunch after hitting the button just once). Weve tried replacing the batteries, thinking that might be the problem, but that doesnt help anything. Ive been sticking them in the corner and ordering other models/brands to replace them. Been considering returning them all to Dell and asking for our money back! Duration of product use Over 6 months How do you use your product? Everyday computing ✘ No, I do not recommend this product. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Design Fault We have purchased multiple KM636 combos for our staff and they have all been returned to our dept. with the same complaint. e key not working with a delayed lag. Duration of product use: Less than a month What is your level of experience? Good -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Very bad combo Mouse is ok, but the keyboard is awful. Very weak material and it stops working soon. The range is horrible and it will most likely only give you a headache. Dell has way better wireless keyboards to offer. Id stay away from this one. Everyday computing -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Simply dont buy it... There is no excuse for this kind of failure by a major manufacturer...

Ive owned a KM636 v1 for about 1.5 years. Its been working pretty well, some occasional brief lag (1-2 seconds) after inactivity, but nothing significant. I needed a keyboard for another computer, and I figured the v2 would be as good or better. Big mistake. After one day of use, I want to smash it to pieces. Frequent repeated key strokes (hit the key cleanly once, get the letter 8 times), frequent significant lag (several seconds) while actively typing. Unusable. Sounds like an issue with the wireless signal, but the receiver is plugged into my monitor, clear line of sight to the keyboard, 6 inches away. So Id put my money on the wireless protocol itself being garbage -- v1 uses a Logitech unifying receiver, v2 uses Dells proprietary universal receiver.

Garbage. I have just lost all what I paid for this keyboard and mouse. Keeps disconnecting. Completely unreliable and uncomfortable experience. I hated Dell because of their poor quality computers. Peripherals were the only products of dell I could get my hands on. Now, even those are black-listed. The mouse has only a good look. Else it is crap. It has a weird drift when used, and sensor is the top front of the mouse, so when you need to make fine motion with the mouse, it is quite difficult to control its motion on screen, as te rear of the mouse would drift while the sensor placed in the front will not move because of the weird shape and unbalance it has. To make it worse, it has noticeable latency. Something youd never consider for gaming or image processing. You better pay the premium and get your self stuff from Logitech. Absolute fail from Dell. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 29th Sept 2018 Update: I have searched only for a solution, and found something ineteresting. Someone suggested uninstalling all the USB drivers on the machine, which I did, and used a PS/2 keyboard to control my device (not an ideal case for a product supposed to be plug-&-play). However, things became a little bit more under control when using the dongle. . However, the catch came to the surface when I have tried to use this combo between my Desktop and laptop. It the connection fails when switching between the bluetooth connectivity and the dongle, which is another failure added to the list. I thought it is a bluetooth issue with one of my machines, when I switched the dongle between them back and forth, when no fruitful results. The problem is still there. I tried a couple of laptops + my desktop. This indicates that it is a problem with the keyboard & mouse combo itself. . You might get a better performance from a cheaper wireless combo, which leaves the elegance and good looks of this combo as the only superior point.

This is a great wireless combo for normal everyday use. My new Dell came with a wired keyboard and mouse so I wanted to upgrade to a wireless. The keyboard and mouse look indenitcal To the ones that came with my PC. Great value. Would recommend. Update 2/2. Well it seems like I’m now having the issues that a lot of people are having. The keyboard cut out a LOT. Also the mouse occasionally cuts out but comes back to life quickly. The mouse issue would be ok but the keyboard is unusable. I had to try typing in an 8 digit password 5 times because it kept missing my keystrokes. Going back to Amazon. Hopefully I can find a more reliable wireless keyboard that won’t cost a ton of money.
