The keyboard has a nice design and seems sturdy enough even though one of the keys popped off just taking it out of the box. The software is a bit confusing as I was having trouble learning how to customize it however that couldve been due to the fact that my first one was a dud. It lasted 4 or 5hrs and now repeatedly locks up and becomes unresponsive until I unplug and reconnect it. Then it lasts a few minutes until lockup again. Ive reordered another unit and will report back with results on that one but in the meantime Im quite disappointed with this purchase. Edit: Changed my review to 5 stars. So the first keyboard was a dud but the second one works great so far. Finally figured out how to customize it and played for hours with no problems. So far the keyboard is solid, has a nice design and I like the size of it. As long as it keeps on working Im 5 star happy with it.

This keyboard is perfect. Having owned it for nearly 2 years now, I feel I can provide an accurate review of its qualities. I am a doctoral student (thus a lot of writing) and also game in my free time. Pros: - Nice tactile feel to the keys that helps improve accuracy of typing. This is also nice for when you are gaming, as it improves the "feel" you have for your in-game character (I play a lot of 1st person RPGs, where this is important). - They provide a,w,e,r,a,s,d,f, keys that are gray. They have a different feel to help you know where you are on the keyboard for gaming needs. - Not too loud. - I LOVE the multimedia keys and volume knob. Very nifty if you listen to a lot of music. - Reliable. In nearly two years of owning this keyboard, I have had zero issues. - Although it is not RGB, you can "program" the keys to display a variety of patterns/pulses/etc. - Price. - Removable keys (helps if you have cats like me and get a lot of hair under the keys.) Cons: - The software used to "program" the lighting is a bit clunky and it isnt the easiest to switch between pre-saved settings without setting a custom hotkey.

The keyboard itself is nice, although it took three tries to get one intact. Amazon ships the keyboard alone, in its own box, with no outer protection. What you get is a keyboard kit and you have to spend some time putting all the keys back on, if the keyboard is not damaged, two of ones I received had other damage. More to the point is the Corsair software. The Corsair.Service.exe program will start at about 52 meg of ram and slowly keep eating until it reaches 550 to 600 meg. The iCUE.exe is not as much as a memory hog but it always sits around 17 to 25% cpu usage. For What? Keyboard LEDs. You can kill them but they always come back and if you uninstall it, the cant make changes to your keyboard. The Corsair forum has endless complaints from users but all Corsair does is ask for the users PC configuration, claims its a localized issue with that user and does nothing. And this is on all their products not just keyboards as Corsair.Services and iCUE supports all of them. Until they get this resolved, if ever, look elsewhere for a gaming keyboard.

Are you a gamer, whom loves to type, has school or is studying online, well then this is the keyboard for you. The noise level is tolerable its not as clicky as the Mx Cherry red which is good, so you wont annoy any girlfriends or boyfriends while you type or play. How ever there is still one big issue, you dont feel the click as much as a Mx Cherry red or blue, which is the part that disappoints me the most, I want to feel the clicks I just dont want to hear em, well I do want to hear the clicks, you would have to be a psychopath to not want to hear feed back as you type, its that when you love with some one or make phone calls and begin to type that can really through the flow of a conversation, it can also annoy people when the only sound is you clicking and clocking away as you type a report. Still I recommend this product is a nice sub for the Mx Cherry red, just dont expect too much of a feel, in terms of feeling the usual mechanical keyboard click, but there is something, and its not as noisy, so less angry girlfriends, basically this is a girlfriend approved keyboard.

This is an absolutely amazing keyboard. First, let me say that I am not a gamer, but rather a physician who types a lot. The RGB version is really overkill for me, but back-lighting was a must, so I went with it. After researching the various types of switches, I decided on the MX Browns. Typing on this is a pleasure, and a distinct and markedly improved experience from the standard "membrane" keyboards that I have always used. It isnt quite as "clicky" as the original IBM PC keyboards from the early 80s, but tactile & responsive. Probably the best endorsement of this keyboard came from my wife who, after using it for the first time (to print out an Amazon return label for a different product) stated she wished she had more typing to do because it was "awesome". In terms of form factor, the brushed aluminum is solid, and well constructed. Not heavy, but definitely more substantial than most. The USB corrections are braided, adding to the aesthetics. RGB lighting allows for customization at the "key" level. Really wonderful product. Definitely worth the price of admission.

The keyboard design and construction is excellent. It works well for all tasks (dependent on your switch type). The choice of keycap font is a bit odd; light comes primarily from the top, which is fine on the letter keys but leaves any secondary symbols, which are all located in the lower quadrant, barely or un-illuminated. A different choice for font/symbol placement would have worked better to take advantage of the currently Corsair-only advanced LED switches. Unfortunately changing your keys is a challenge. For unknown reasons, the keys on the bottom row (R1) are non-standard sizes, making changing out the keycaps hard. The 2 windows and the menu key are R1-1u, the ctrl keys are 1.5u, the alts are 1.25u, and the spacebar is 6.5u, which means the keys from most replacement sets cant be used as this does not match standard (1.25u*7 + 6.25u space) configuration used by most sets. Thus you can either not switch out the keycaps or you are forced to use blanks or leave the native keys to not match.

I will preface this review by saying that Ive owned this keyboard a grand total of 3 days. This keyboard is amazing. The tactile feel of the keys is exactly what I wanted. The RGB light effects are fantastic and relatively easy to control. I saw many reviews on the software required to manage the light effects but I didnt really experience any major issues. The software is not as intuitive as I would have liked but I was able to figure out how to create and export my custom light effects to the keyboard without referring to any youtube instructional videos. If I can do it, you can do it. The volume controls are excellent and the USB pass through is a must-have (I use it for my gaming mouse). Be aware that this keyboards cord is very thick and it required two USB plugs, at least one 3.0. One is for the keyboard, of course, and the other is the USB pass through. To summarize, this keyboard is fantastic. So far.

After completing my due diligence, I came to a conclusion that I wanted the tactile, quiet keyboard which meant the Cherry MX brown. When i received the keyboard, the typing was so loud that I initially thought I received the wrong one, perhaps a normal MX cherry. But nope, theres a sticker that clearly indicates cherry brown. Overall, a solid keyboard but I definitely wish it was quieter.

I really like this. Its what I expected. However it may not be what others expect. The key press is *very* light, Im not sure why it is described as having tactile feedback (theres no click on an MX Brown), and just the noise of the keys bottoming out would be way too loud for a shared or open office. As I am writing this my girlfriend says from two rooms away "How is the new keyboard treating you?" It sort of reminds me of vintage computers of my vintage. It does want two USB ports but has a pass through. In my case I connected my mouse there so its a break-even on ports. It does seem well made. The keys float above the back plate so it should be easy to clean with some spray air.

One of the things that made this model stand out is the Corsair fan community. I cannot easily find many profiles online that people share and I am very very very lazy. I care about aesthetics, I mean we all do because why the heck are you buying an LED keyboard otherwise. Razer for instance, does not have a very good platform for sharing this kind of things. I can easily find many people sharing profiles on Youtube for Corsair peripherals, however. I have been using it ever since it arrived and the quality is so good. I loveeeee the aluminum plate and the volume control. The media control and profile switch buttons are also handy. Overall I am super pleased with my purchase. P.S. My boyfriend has a Razer Black Widow Chroma and I love my Corsair wayyyyy more! Only con compared to the Razer is the plastic wrist rest pad, but you can prob get the K95 if you hate it that much.
