Size is right, lays nice and flat, texture is perfect but OMG the smell! I bought 3 of them and these things smell like concentrated ashtray or burning factory or maybe smouldering tire dump. Contaminates any tote bag we put them in. Makes any office smell like a smoker works there. If you are a chain smoker you wont notice a thing, this mouse pad will work great for you. If not, dont use them yourself, give them as gifts to your enemies. We have them outside on the porch with dryer sheets between them hoping this stench gasses off pretty quickly or they are going in the bin on the next trash day.

Ive been re-ordering this same item over the years as Ive worn out old ones. However, the ones I received this time seem different than previous ones. Reviewing my purchase history, I have purchased these 7 times previously, and this time ordered a batch of 3 (total of 10 purchased). Using my caliper, my old ones measure ~4.95mm in depth. These new ones are measuring ~4.67mm in depth, e.g. 0.28mm thinner. Doesnt seem like much, but I noticed it immediately, which is why I got out my calipers to verify. Just doesnt feel as meaty and sturdy. I want a nice, quality mousepad -- not a flimsy one. I really dont care if its $1 or $10. I just want a nice one. Another thing I noticed immediately -- these smell AWFUL. I dont recall my old ones being this noxious, even when they were brand new. Im going to toss them in the dishwasher to see if that helps. Another reviewer mentioned that leaving them outside a few days didnt help, so Ill skip right past that strategy. (Thanks for that intel, fellow reviewer.)

Its a black mouse pad. $3. What could possibly be controversial about such a basic and inexpensive product? OK, so, thinking that, I didnt bother to read the reviews. In the famous words of Julia Roberts ("Pretty Woman") -- "BIG MISTAKE. HUGE!" I took it to my office and opened the bag sitting at my desk. The smell was so bad I almost gagged. I sprayed it with room spray that has Febreze in it which was so futile it was almost funny. I put it back in the bag, taped it, put it in another bag and the smell lingered in my office for the rest of the day. I took it home, rested it between the screen and window and let it sit there. After a day it was a little better but not much. THEN I read the reviews. OK, so Ill try washing it with dish soap a couple of times before chucking it but this has taken WAY too much time and WAY too much effort for a damn mousepad. Lesson learned: ALWAYS READ THE REVIEWS! If Id seen the reviews before I ordered this stinky thing I would have saved myself a lot of trouble. Oh, yeah, and $3. UPDATE: A day later Ive washed this wretched thing in lemon dish soap, soaked it in baking soda (which gets rid of bad smells in microfiber and most anything else) and washed it in lemon dish soap a second time and propped it to dry in my dishwasher. Now my dishwasher smells, my hands smell and this gross thing is in the trash where it should have gone the day I received it. If it cost more that $3 Id return it but Ive wasted way too much time already. FINAL RECOMMENDATION: DO NOT BUY!

I only paid two bucks and it was an "add on" item, so I almost feel bad complaining, but this photo is what it looks like after only two weeks of use. The fabric is peeling away from the rubber. Ill probably only get a couple more weeks use out of it before it needs to be thrown away. Guess Ill just go back to what I was doing before and just use the back of my paper notepad.

Hope my review & feedback of this product along with the pictures I will post will help a few fellow Amazon shoppers: QUALITY? 8/10 ~ When you first open up the package it strongly smells like plastic. But after a few days it goes away. The quality is nice. It does the job. Its not too rough or annoying and my computer mouse moves around with no problem on it. Though it gets dirty a little too fast because the material used to make this sort of absorbs dirt and dust and since the color is black its really noticeable. Its still super worth it considering how cheap it is though. SIZE? 10/10 ~ Big enough. I do video editing and I also do computer gaming. When you game you need to move the mouse all over the place but thanks to the decent size of this thing I never had problems. PRICE? 10/10 ~ The price is honestly a joke. Its so cheap not event he dollar store would be able to beat it. And it comes with free shipping as an option? No way? Id buy this thing 10 times over and still be happy with it. Other online or local stores sell these things for like $15 - $20! Check out the pictures I will also include: feel free to ask me any questions / let me know if my review was helpful to you

Ok, this just smells beyond awful. I removed it from the packaging yesterday and it literally smells like the dirt floor of a barn that has been infused with animal feces. Im actually worried my coworkers will think the odor is emanating from my feet or god forbid my mouth. If it were not so cheap I would absolutely request a refund. I imagine the odor will dissipate at some point, as is generally the case with various other chemically treated garbage Ive been lured into purchasing at super low prices from Amazon. I am considering washing it in the office sink and hanging it to dry. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea...exactly what I want to do with my time. Thanks!

Just like the dog on our hard-laminate floor, the mouse skitters across the surface, making lots of noise, and not being at all sedate. OK, an explanation: This mouse pad has a hard surface rather than the typical fabric upper surface. As you move the mouse across the surface, the mouse feet make noise - not much, but in my very quiet environment, it is noticeable, and is almost as irritating as chalk on a chalkboard. (But who, that uses computers, even remembers chalkboards?) Also, apparently because the surface is slightly reflective, the mouse cursor accelerates across the screen rather more quickly than I would expect. That is easily solved by turning down the mouse sensitivity in the Windows settings. I quit using it, and purchased a pad with a fabric upper surface. Im sure I will need to replace the fabric-surface pad more often that the hard-surface pad, but I will live with that.

Very lightweight but otherwise not bad for a $2 mouse pad. Except that this came packaged in the worst way possible, using the type youd pack a book in. If it were the only item it would be fine. But there were two other odd sized items, and this was doubled over among them. So theres now a permanent crease in it, even when forced flat you can feel it through the mouse. One of those things thats not really worth dealing with. My primary aggravation comes in realizing theres someone that takes such little care with their job.

Writing 1 star not because it doesnt work- but because it reaks and the current ratings are deceitful. I purchased this mouse in a hurry- it was well rated (4/5 stars) and had thousands of purchases. I wish I would have stopped for ONE MINUTE to read reviews... the new smell is HORRIBLE. Gives me a headache. It still reaks, but then again, Ive only had it for a day. Im gonna have to try washing it and see if that helps. I hope more people giving a one star can help bring it does to 3 stars or something where buyers can tell something might be off...

Have no complaints about this mouse pad. First of all, it is very inexpensive. Secondly, I prefer mouse pads that are a bit on the hefty side. Most mouse pads tend to slip on my desk, but weightier ones stand their ground better. This mouse pad is fairly thick and has a bit of weight to it. So far, it hasnt moved an inch on my desk. The backside is non-slip neoprene and the front has a cloth cover. Both feel great. One other plus is that the mouse pad did not have a rubber smell out of the package, though that may have been just luck. Overall, I am totally satisfied with this mouse pad and would order it again if I were ever to need a another one.
