MX 518 died and bought a G502 to replace it. My old mouse pad was one of the hard types and the "grip" that held it onto the desk wore away after 10+ years of use so I decided to ditch it. Wanted something cheap in case I didnt like it. Got this guy and am more than happy. Am looking into getting one of the larger ones that also goes under the keyboard but for the time being in my limited desk space, this is more than enough for now.

Its hard to tell from the details of this product what you are going to get, so let me describe it for you: The surface is a plastic laminate with very light texture to it. A typical plastic mousepad without this light texture actually adds to the friction because you increase the surface area between what your mouse touches and the pad itself. By adding a light texture, you decrease the surface area and thus the friction is reduced. I was looking for a low friction mouse pad that had no graphics on it. Some optical mice do not track well (i.e. Jumpy Mouse Syndrome) because there are images and repeated patterns on the mousepad itself. This pad tracks very well because of the lack of pictures printed on top. Mine is just a plain blue. Also, it is the most low friction mousepad I have used in over 20 years of computing, and even better than the SteelSeries SX mousepad that sells for $49.99(at the time of this writing). It has less friction than that over-expensive pad! I highly recommend this product for anyone that needs an extremely fast, low friction, high tracking mousepad for a reasonable price. If you are a gamer or anyone who wants a hard surface that tracks great, has extremely low friction, you need this mouse pad! Great job Belkin!

Bought this for my sons mouse, this mouse pad seemed of good quality and he hasnt complained yet. When we purchased his computer it came with a mouse but no mouse pad so we just used it without one and ended up breaking the mouse in a few days so now that we have replaced the mouse we use this mouse pad and it seems to work great. It doesnt slide when used and seems to let the mouse move easily in use.

I bought this to replace my aging, disgusting mouse pad Ive been using for several years. Pros: Thickness - The pad is about 3/16" thick. Its a nice comfy height and feels a little more squishy than my previous Its really black - Like totally black. So black. I like black. Cons: Smells like Thors thong. Seriously. I opened the bag and my apartment just began to ooze eau de Thor Thong. I let it air out for a couple days and now it only makes my wrist smell when I use it. Conclusion - Great mouse pad, strong scent. Would buy again.

I bought this mouse pad to use with my laptop at school while working on digital art projects. The pad itself is very light, definitely on the cheaper side in terms of quality, but that should be expected with a mouse pad this cheap. Despite the cheaper quality, this mouse pad still fulfills my needs 100%. My wireless mouse is able to glide on this pad without any issues, and the pad has no issues staying in place. I have owned this mouse pad for nearly 3 years now, and its still in great condition & fully functional. If youre looking for a mouse pad for basic needs on a budget, I dont think youll be able to find many (if any) better options for the price. Highly recommend!

I have bought a number of mouse-pads similar in appearance and feel, but this one is different. It literally stinks. Dont get me wrong, Im not one of those people who makes a fuss about plastic or chemical smells, generally. This smell is aggressively nasty. Different people have described it in different ways. I think is smells very much like mothballs. Out of a dozen pads, none with an unpleasant odor to speak of, this evil smelling thing comes along. What in the world is Belkin thinking? When I first opened the box, I found the pad in a clear plastic wrapper. As soon as I opened the wrapper the pungent smell of mothballs filled the room. It really IS that bad. What moron chose the rubber or adhesive formula responsible for this? If the stink goes away fine, but if as some reviewers have stated--that the stink is here to stay--I will have to toss it out. This is inexcusable. Amazon should discontinue carrying this pad. In effect, it is defective right out of the wrapper. Seriously folks, I cant imagine another pad having this obnoxious stink. Do yourself a favor and keep looking. Even now, two hours later I am mindful of a potent mothball smell filling the room. A rotten bad product. Belkin will never see my money again. A quick update: Its now the next day and I left the pad outdoors overnight to air it out. Its better now, I suppose Ill keep it. Maybe...

Its sad I need to write a negative review about this mouse pad because I like the size and feel of it. However, the smell is so bad and it hasnt yet went away after four days of airing out. In fact, after I used it for a few minutes, the smell transferred to my hand and I had to wash it a few times to remove it. I even tried washing it with soap and water three times but the smell remained. It smells like strong toxic cigarette smoke and I cannot imagine the environmental impact of where this product is manufactured. Again, it is a nice functioning mouse pad but the smell is horrible. Clearly there are toxic chemicals involved in the manufacturing process and I cant t have it in my house any longer. Unfortunately, this mouse pad is going in the trash.

My mouse often lost track of itself on this (I have a Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse ), and this mousepad was quickly replaced by a 3M Precise Mouse Pad with Repositionable Adhesive Backing, Battery Saving Design, 8.5 in x 7 in (MP200PS) for a number of reasons. First, though it was attractive and had a good weight to it, this mouse pad reeked awfully, and the odor of it was quite unpallatable for several weeks, but I persisted, thinking, oh this too shall pass. Second, though, my mouse pretty consistently lost track of where it was. My mouse can track itself on most anything, but it had a lot of trouble tracking on this surface. This problem was pretty consistent throughout the mousepads tenure. Overall, with both of these major cons persisting, after two months, I got the 3M Mousepad, and I couldnt be happier I did.

The Belkin 8"x9" Mouse Pad (Black) is a decent mouse pad. It isnt anything extravagant, and doesnt have any fancy designs on it, but it definitely works like it is supposed to. The underside is pure rubber/silicon and there is a felt/soft layer on the top side. It does smell very heavily of rubber when you first take it out of the packaging, and that smell continues for a while until it airs out. After it airs out, the smell really only comes back when you move the mouse pad around or pick it up and expose the bottom side. It was extremely strong at first, enough to give me a headache, but it has improved greatly since then. Overall, it is a decent mouse pad, that does the job and doesnt cause any catching on the mouse.

This pad stinks. Literally smells like burnt plastic. Aside form that, it doesnt work. It causes my mouse to stall continuously. I cant move the mouse more than 2 inches without the cursor stopping. I didnt realize there were no returns. Do not buy.
