This mouse pad will wear out after a few months. I ordered 2 of these and have had them for a little over a year now, and with every day use, you can feel spots in the surface of the mouse pads where they are slick and spots where they have a slight texture left to them. The areas with texture allow the optical mouse to work just fine, but the areas where you can feel the pad is slick will not let the optical sensor on the mouse read properly. Unfortunate, with normal use, that mean the entire center area of the pad is worn out and useless while just the edges that get little use continue to have enough texture left for the mouse to read. I use these mouse pads on a glass top desk and within 20 minutes of normal use, I can look down to see the pad has rotated 90 degrees. The backing of this pad will not grip to smooth glass. 3M is a good company with normally good products, but this isnt one of them.

Wow, I almost forgot what a good mouse pad feels like! This one is great, it has a thin plastic top and ample rubber bottom. The version I got does not have a sticky bottom but a simple rubber one. Regardless it stays put on the desk and does not move at all. The top is very nice and creates nice gliding surface for mouse but not too slippery. If you ever got mouse pads from DELL which were really nice, this what the top of this mouse pad looks like. DELL mouse pads were shipped with their workstations and I really missed them when they broke. Now I found a replacement. The thickness of the pad is about 3-4 mm. I think DELL ones were thinner. The only two cons I can think of : 1) it kind of stinks of rubber very strongly but I think the smell will go away 2) you need to be careful not to bend the surface when cleaning it, probably best to use a cutting board and wash the mouse pad on the cutting board. DELL mouse pads used to crack if one is not careful and then the mouse would catch on the crack. Highly recommended.

The short story is this is a very good product. The only reason why I did not give it 5 stars is because of the design and color. If it came in a more subdued color like black then it would definitely get 5 stars. I ordered my first one about a month ago and since then I have ordered four more because I was so pleased with the quality and performance. The mouse smoothly glides on the surface unlike any other mouse pad I have ever had and Ive had a lot. As for whether this product extends the life of your battery, that is to be determined. Even if it does not help with battery life the glide performance is worth every penny. The size is not too small or large. The back of the pad has high quality rubber to prevent the pad from moving around on your table. Other than the color, this is the perfect pad. It should be noted I am extremely critical of products and can easily find a weakness in any product. I can not find any in this one. I give this product a definite buy recommendation. You will be definitely happy.

Nice mousepads. I bought this because my mouse doesnt track well on my desk. I have both the foam backed and the sticky versions. Both pads track exceptionally well. I never had a problem with battery life, so I cant say if its improved, as it lasts for months already. The foam version is my favorite. It is thinner than I expected, and measures just a sliver under 1/8" total. I thought the combination of the foam backing and the plastic might be uncomfortable due to the thickness, but it does not feel bad on my wrist when Im using it, and is pretty unobtrusive. The sticky backed version is slightly smaller in dimensions, and is thinner than a credit card. When its stuck to the desk, its so close to the same level that its about impossible to know its there. The major difference is in the sound and feel of the two pads when moving the mouse. The sticky version is so much louder in every way than the foam backed one. When I lift and set the mouse to reposition, the sticky version allows the clunk to come through the desk as if there was no pad. When I am recording webinars, the knocking can get quite loud. The knocking effect was to be expected, as there is no cushion. What I didnt expect was how much quieter the foam backed version would be when I slide the mouse around... the texture of the two pads are the same... the sticky version sounds like it is always scraping across, and any grit or tiny particles are amplified, where they are unnoticeable on the foam pad. I thought I would like the thinner sticky pad, but I definitely like the smoother and quieter foam pad.

Great item, looks clean with its simple design, and works great with an optical mouse. One problem though is that it smells like freshly laid asphalt or like burning rubber. The smell went away after 2 weeks, but it was quite acrid and it took me a while to realize there was not construction happening nearby, it was just the mouse pad off-gassing. Not ideal, but it was so cheap i cant complain. Good value overall. Update: I completely forgot that the pad was off-gassing because it did go away completely. :-) Great pad and months later, Im very happy with this purchase.

Ive had the mouse pretty much exactly 10 months and it has gotten too worn to be seriously used, I am an avid gamer but it hasnt moved off my desk, been abused, or been spilled on, and it has small bumps in the plastic top and paint discoloration in parts where I move my mouse alot (the gray design is rubbed off creating white patches) cant really see that its worn it still looks good but the divets and bumps formed from regular use have rendered it pretty much useless for gaming. I had my last mouse pad for 9 or more years and I have gone back to it as it is more flat (It is an off brand promotional company giveaway mouse pad for a company that doesnt even exist anymore, and is more of a cloth material FYI) Its cheap and good initially but I wouldnt buy it again.

At first I was a little put off by the surface. This thing is much smoother than the old cloth and rubber mouse pads. There was about a three minute learning curve on muscle memory control of the mouse motions. Once I got a handle on that I decided that this was the best mouse pad I have ever owned. On top of that it will be much easier to clean due to the smooth surface. Since I just got this pad yesterday I cant verify or dispute the battery life claims, but as comfortable as it is to use, who cares? I use a Logitech M510 mouse that has outstanding battery life to start with. It will easily go a year or more on a set of AA batteries, and I never turn the mouse off. Even if the mouse pad does live up to the claimed increase, its not something Im cheap enough to keep track of over that length of time. Yes, I would buy it again, and yes, I will recommend this product to friends and family.

I ordered both the triangle and snowflake style, and both are a very neutral light grey with darker reflective highlights rather than the yellowish and bluish tinted images shown here. I already have a SteelSeries 4HD pad, and the first thing I noticed about these is that the hard surface is much thinner (around 4x) with the 3M pads than it is on the SteelSeries. The overall thickness is greater, but its mostly the rubber. Unfortunately, this thicker rubber doesnt give the pad a greater ability to ignore small imperfections in the surface under it. Anything thicker than a business card placed under the pad will cause a noticeable bump in the mousing surface. The thicker SteelSeries pad will just tilt slightly if the surface is uneven, which is less problematic since it at least stays consistent. Pressure from my wrist rest also caused the pad to arch slightly, which is probably more likely to happen to the average user than small objects or dirt getting under the pad. The surface finish is definitely an extremely good one for optical and laser mouse sensors. It felt smooth and predictable, and while I dont use a wireless mouse, I did notice that the mice I tested with (Tt eSPORTS Ventus Z and Roccat Kone Pure Military) could track the surface from further away than my 4HD. Im not sure how much of this comes down to color, since mice do seem to prefer light surfaces to dark ones. Ultimately, Im sticking with the pad I have despite it being much larger than I need because it doesnt warp when hit by a small breeze. The 3M pads have already found good homes with friends who didnt have any sort of pad at all. If 3M used 2-3x more plastic and less rubber, I might have been tempted to keep one.

I agree with other reviewers on the good points of waterproof, mobile, thin-but-flexible and a good texture for my mouse... ...but I am a gamer with limited desk space. I use my mouse to move and target imaginary things. A lot. I may well be switching back to a fabric mousepad soon, or just buying another one of these to wear out all over again, depending, because the "pad" is made of a fairly soft, gently textured plastic with a printed pattern underneath. What happens when you rub something repeatedly in the same spot with, say, the bottom of your mouse as you maneuver it around the pad..? Polish happens. Polished plastic, to be precise, bright and shiny, glossy, reflecting my optical mouses cursor all over the screen, exactly the way the surface the pad was bought to cover used to do. Its a good product, and really, if I had paid attention to the logic of, "if its flexible enough to peel off of a desk and move, it HAS to be soft plastic," going in, I would have known in advance that it would be likely to happen within a few months of use. Its my own fault for blindly expecting something the material itself cant do. Ive been trying to switch up angles, move where the mouse rests, etc., but my space for that is swiftly diminishing. The fact that its so nice and portably small means there really isnt that much room for doing so to begin with. :)

This is an awesome mouse pad. Im a guy coming from a normal foam mouse pad. Ive only had this for a few days, but I used on it hours everyday since then and I love it! First of all, I have the repositional style, meaning that the back of the mouse pad is sticky, but you can remove it without residue. The only downside to this is that it can collect dirt very easily, but I heard you can just wash it off and leave it to air dry. This is an awesome feature because this mouse pad is literally going no where. You cant accidentally slide it off. Since, it has a sticky back, it is perfect for travel. I can slap it onto my laptop, and then take it off whenever I need to. The next thing is the texture and the design. I got the Frostbyte design but it really doesnt matter what you get. I really like this design, but I believe all of them have the same texture. It has a plastic-like texture and it is very smooth. I can move my mouse much more easier on this mouse pad than on my old foam one. The company also claims that you can get more precise tracking. This is true to my testing, my mouse feels a lot more accurate on this mouse pad. I have a Logitech G700S and it is a wired/wireless mouse combo. This mouse pad is also very thin! It has the thickness of 2-3 pieces of paper. The last thing I want to talk about is the battery saving design. I also believe this works. My mouse uses a rechargeable double a battery and I usually have to charge it every night. I wouldnt say Im getting exactly a half day extra of use, but the battery life increase is noticeable. Overall, I think this is a must have mouse pad! Great price and great performance! I would say buy this immediately if you travel a lot and/or carry a laptop with you wherever you go. This mouse pad isnt very large, so if you have a desktop and play video games at a low dpi, you might want to search for a larger mouse pad. Im extremely satisfied with this product. P.S. I bought this product with my own money and Im just sharing my experience with it.
