Im using this with with AutoCAD 2018 so that limits my experience. Although not completely integrated with AutoCAD it works pretty well. The driver command list probably needs to be updated to work with 2018. It will not rotate the model in 2d wireframe. The model needs to be rendered to a visualstyle that doesnt show hidden lines in order for hardware acceleration to work with a Nvidia card. Ive also experienced problems problems in paperspace. The driver doesnt automatically activate. I keep having to manually activate by starting the navbar and selecting the 2d button. But when the model is rendered in realistic with perspective, wow this thing is great. The best way to inspect a model. Takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it... youll love it. It probably works better with more advanced 3d software.

Im using this Space Mouse with Fusion 360. Im still new at this but I also knew that manipulating a CAD drawing was a pain with just a standard mouse and keyboard. Thats why I decided to try the 3DConnexion Space Mouse. Im so glad I did. Im still in the learning curve but its obvious that this will make using Fusion 360 or any CAD program much easier. I highly recommend this for anyone serious about using a CAD program.

I think it’s great, my first 3D mouse. The quality is excellent, it’s got some heft. I was a little concerned with the price but after seeing and feeling how well built it was the price was justified. It does not play very well with Blender, which is the main reasons I bought it. Rather than tilting the object around like you would expect its more like you are controlling a hovering camera around the object. What a shame. Works great in orthographic mode, but perspective mode leaves a lot of room for improvement. There are some settings people recommended but still didn’t behave the way I wanted. That’s why I gave it 4 stars. The site says it supports Blender but they left out some major details.

When it works its amazing. It makes navigating 3D spaces a real pleasure. Unfortunately, it rarely works. It is so so so difficult to get it to work in Maya and Blender ignores the settings in your Space Navigator program altogether. You have to go into Blenders preferences manually and alter settings to even get the thing to work and even then, it doesnt work properly. When it works in Maya, it is excellent, you can orbit objects, pan, and zoom but in Blender you have only two options: 1. orbit and zoom or 2. pan and turn the camera in 1st person perspective. I want to pan and orbit and zoom at once in Blender but you cant do it. I brought it to school to use it on their iMacs in the lab and it took the school tech guy quite a while of troubleshooting to get it to work in Maya and then after a while it stopped working. I just bought a new Windows PC for my home and Im trying to get it to work in Maya. I downloaded the latest drivers and opened Maya and started moving the knob on the Space Navigator and... nothing. I dont know why its not working and Im sick and tired of trying to figure it out all the time. I dont know why 3D connexion is the only company that makes this kind of product. If there were more companies like this then there would be more competition and they would increase their quality. But I guess 3D connexion feels no need to actually make their product work since they have no competition. I have spent so much time just trying to get the dang thing working that at this point it isnt really saving me any time or making me any more efficient at working in 3D environments.

I got this for my son who is the head designer on his Robotics team and is entering his freshman year of college majoring in engineering and this mouse is saving him hours of work because of how easy it is to manipulate his designs and view from all angles. He loves it!

this mouse is just plain nice. looking to use it with fusion 360. as a hobbyist my biggest concern is the 30 day trial for 360. when trial is up i may/will face a $40 monthly fee. if the fee holds i will look to use the mouse with 123d.

Very good, heavy quality and easy to learn. I appreciated the tutorial that came with it. Im not computer savvy, and was able to use it in a reasonably short amount of time with no problems. Flying around in my 3D game is amazing and Im able to take wonderful screen captures now.

I’m sure this is a great product, but it doesn’t work for MeshMixer. There is no mention of this in it’s description, which I think would be a great price of info, considering how many people use that software

I’ve had the pro version with all the buttons and now this one. This is weighty enough that it doesn’t move while you’re controlling. I prefer the ones with buttons, but this product is perfect for what it is made for. Compact, easy to use, and highly responsive. Would recommend.
