The description of the features said that this computer is an Intel i7-8700 processor at 4.6 GHz ("Intel Core i7 8700 (6-Core/12-Thread, 12MB Cache,4.6GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology)") but when I got the computer, it was an i7-8700 at 3.20GHz. The box did not say anything, so I noticed after I installed the machine. THIS SITUATION IS UNACCEPTABLE. Who should I call now!! ... I feel like I am being scammed.

I like this 5680s performance, no complaints there. It came with a m.2 SATA 128 GB boot SSD. I did replace that with a 512 GB NVMe boot device. Super fast boot and operation now. The first 5680 I received, appeared to brick after applying a Dell recommended BIOS update. Maybe the NVMe drive? I got the Amazon replacement in 2 days and used it happily for a few months . Finally on my second 5680, same Dell recommended BIOS update notification popped up. I crossed my fingers and hit apply. Guess what? Brick. Customer support was polite but I had a real hard time understanding their heavily accented English. As I was waiting on hold for the warranty support, to get details for a warranty return, my call was dropped. Lucky for me, I work on and support older PCs. I decided to power up while pressing all of the Function keys as rapidly as I could, success! The BIOS went into some type to self test mode that lasted for about 5 minutes, passed and booted up. Most i7 PCs have a, BIOS reset on boot, function key. I could not locate that info for this PC. I will not be updating the BIOS on this machine, ever. Other than that, after five months of use, I love this thing. :)

I purchased this PC for a couple of reasons. I used to work in a support group where all laptops and desktops were Dell, and the performance and ease of service were great features. I personally have a Dell laptop and this Desktop. The laptop is about 17 months old, and is fine so far. The desktop is good for gaming and the office functions I need, but the C-drive is way too small for practical use. While I am able to install most things on the supplied D-drive, there are a few apps that wont allow to be installed there. I am in the process of deciding if a larger SSD drive would be practical and something worth doing. On the service side, I havent had a chance to talk to Dell service about anything just yet, but have been online to test the system and to download and install software updates. Like the machine just fine so far.

Big specks but no real power this thing cant event watch videos in 4k but its what I wanted in a way I mean really you went cheap on the ram speed really thats just evil. Not to bad relay disappointed in the ram speed and for some odd reason the v key didnt work at first plus i had a hard drive err in less then 24hr. if i had to guss this would be rated at a budget computer but relay its just an expense con with 8 cores and lowest possible ddr4 ram what a scam worth almost 2 grand i dont think so this is more of a cheap show case to show of the 8 core specks not as good as my 6 core on every day multitasking. i read anything over 8 cores is bad on performance even for gaming as they are made for editing. My cheap 4k big screen tv has 4k roku video yet this thing cant play 4k sorry dell not worth 2 grand my tv was cheaper then that and has more power js.

This was the easiest PC setup I have ever had. It’s super fast and very quiet, I cant hear it when it’s on unless the fan kicks on and even then it’s barely a hum. SUGGESTION: Before installing your cloud storage on your PC and setting it to keep files on PC, make sure to change the location of where all your files are stored, ie, set it to the 2 TB hard drives and not the 128gb SSD. I made this mistake and ran out of memory before my OneDrive folders (one is personal use and one is Business use) we’re completely downloaded. I’m not a gamer but the gaming PC’s have the specs I wanted for my software and speed for my work applications. I would definitely recommend this PC for any home or office use, but cannot speak intelligently for gaming use.

I got this as a sortve entry level gaming PC. My intention is to upgrade it further down the road and it seems like that wont be too difficult. But if youre reading this review you wanna know about the machine as is. Long story short for the price point this thing is a monster. I legitimately tried to find similar components separately and could not manage to build something with the same specs without spending about the same or more depending on the deals you find. The GTX 1060 3gb is by no means the best in slot for graphics but its plenty for 1080p gaming at Max settings in every game Ive thrown at it. I intend to put a better one in it in the future but even if you dont I expect itll do the job for you as long as you dont try to push to 4k resolution. The other specs are more than enough to get the job done. Had I purchased it new Id probably be giving it a 5 star rating. But I did buy it used and it came out of the box with a hefty amount of scratches and imperfections on the case which bothered me slightly. However other than that its functioned perfectly so I can get over it. For your money this is one of if not THE best deal for a entry to mid range gaming PC without any of the hassle of building it yourself. All necessary drivers came preinstalled and the Dell support software can find and install updated drivers for you. Just make sure if you buy it youre careful to install any programs to the hdd not the SSD because it is rather small. But it is just big enough for the os and like one or two games of your choice making load times fantastic. All in all would recommend in fact Im trying to talk my little brother into getting the exact same model.

If youre looking for a heater to keep you warm during the winter then look no further. The CPU cooler is a piece of junk and so is the graphic card cooler. The RX 580 graphic card runs super hot during gaming that is IF you can get it to not freeze or crash on you. After 4 days Ive had enough and had to return it for a full refund. I expected better for $699 plus tax.

I was skeptical at first. But, This computer although a little overkill for what I use for a desktop is exceptionally fast. I like that it supports up to 64GB of Ram but I will probably not upgrade for what I use. I wanted a good desktop that I dont have to worry about changing for awhile. Dell has always been a good out of the box computer and so far so good.

This was a big upgrade over what I was previously using. I did change some parts once I received the PC though. I replaced the 580 4GB that came with it with a Sapphire 580 8GB Nitro+ from my old PC. I replaced the PSU with an EVGA SuperNova 550 G3 Modular PSU that I already had. I also installed a front intake fan since theres a spot for one. Next on my list is replacing the HDD with a SSD. Ive had no issues with overheating even before replacing parts. If you do find the GPU is getting hotter than youd like just remember you can use something like MSI AfterBurner to set fan speeds.
