My mother in law is in the habit of installing whatever browser extension, screen saver, and other nonsense she sees. So she has always had problems with her computers. We bought this for her so shed be able to at least check her emails and facebook. Shes happy, and it was cheap, so were happy. This would NOT be a good gaming computer.

The Acer TC-855 is a good performing prebuilt PC, but it could use a little tweaking. The computer is a good size and the case has a sleek and modern look to it while still retaining good front panel IO. The computer boots up quickly thanks to the Optane memory but I would not say that it is worth the extra $62 price difference. With that extra $62 I would go and order a 2.5" SSD and reinstall Windows on it to get better performance and faster loading for all applications. The 8th generation i3 is a great processor and is overlooked by a lot of people. It has great single core performance thanks to Intels advanced technologies and performs well at 3D rendering and intensive tasks. The 8GB of DDR4 RAM is lacking and at this price point, I think that adding an extra 8GB for a total of 16GB is not unreasonable. The included keyboard and mouse are cheap but work, I personally would not use them and get other peripherals, but to each their own. Overall I found the Acer TC-855 to be a great prebuilt for anyone who just needs a simple PC that gets the job done; however, I do think that if you have the skills to build your own computer, I would recommend building a PC with similar hardware to this, rather than buying this. I put together a list of parts nearly identical to that of the Acer TC-855 and it totaled around $300 to $350 depending on where you buy the parts. I am not saying that the Acer TC-855 is a bad machine, I am just saying that you can build an identical one for cheaper, but if you are not super technologically inclined, the Acer TC-855 is a great computer.

This is a great computer but I use it for basic functions (You Tube, pictures, online browsing, etc). I purchased several refurbished computers (even different models) to return them. I made sure this one wasnt refurbished! It is fast and I am very happy with it. For the price and my needs, I couldnt be happier. Also, I love Acer. My laptop is Acer, going on 5 years and still outstanding.

Quiet, plenty of USB ports, fastest Home PC Ive ever encountered although it has Windows 10. I dont really care for Windows 10, still learning how to navigate it. I dont do gaming so I have no idea how it would work for that. I research a lot and watch You tube. I recommend highly to anyone looking for a good home PC.

Im not a gamer , nor do I use my computer for business. Acer makes a reliable computer. My last one lasted 6 years and never had a major problem. The only downside to my old one was the fan had problems but that is fixable and can be minimized with an additional mini an on the outside.

Threw in my Rx 550 and 550w PSU and its working like a charm. Most of my games run flawlessly on max settings. If you want to do vr gaming, aim for like a RX 590 or a GTX 480. The processor is good enough without upgrading it so you can save money there. Maybe invest in a bit more memory if you plan on streaming or something of that nature. Pretty solid set up just by adding another 400 worth of parts.

Plug and play for sure. Had to make an emergency replacement. Hooked this up to two monitors and my external hard drive. I moved my MS Office subscription over and was up and running in less than 30 minutes. Hooked up and restored my files from Carbonite overnight and was totally recovered by morning. Delivery was very fast.

Our home desktop hard drive gave it up and we opted to get a new W10 box that wasnt a gamer but fast enough for our everyday need. This ACER model was the exact computer we needed at a great price, plus we paid it off in 4 payments It came right up and we were back to home computing , and most importantly, internet functional, again. Allowed us to easily reload our lost sites, virus protection, etc, with no need for tech advice.

I would not recommend this product. From day one I was having problems, drivers out of date and poor performance. I contacted customer support and was told " We are aware of the problem, but we are not working on it at this time" ( A driver update needed by Windows 10). While the unit is NOT a gaming computer, I keep getting a " Application cannot access graphics." This usually shows itself when scrolling through Facebook and I lose my graphics and photos on the page.
