The 5 stars are conditional: they account for the remarkably low price of the item. This lens is an amazing bargain. I was expecting a much cheaper build quality for this price, and I knew what to expect in terms of optical quality. Plenty sharp in the center from wide open, edges and corners sharpen up quickly as you stop down. There is no automatic manual focus override, but the AF/MF switch is a nice touch. Build quality really does feel close to on par with the Nikon 85mm 1.8 G lens. I got this as a gift for my father, who shoots a Nikon D610 and D7000, and lately this lens has been living on his 610. He loves the 35mm focal length, and this is a much smaller, lighter package than his 17-35 2.8 or 24-70 2.8 The additional speed is nice as well given the lack of stabilization.

Great lens for the price! Ive been researching 35mm lenses for my D750 for a while, and decided to give this one a try since it was under $100. Im very happy with the results! Shooting at about F7.1 produces sharp images. Pros: Very sharp at small F stops. Very affordable. Auto focus. Can open wide for low light. Works great with full frame cameras. Cons: Blur is not very appealing wide open when focusing up close. Auto focus is a little noisy. Ive included a photo I took with this lens and my D750 while in San Diego.

Great little lens despite what others post. I do not hesitate to use this lens professionally at anytime a 35mm is called for. Sharp from the center at wide open by ƒ/4 to the edges. Work flawlessly with my Nikon D750. Focusing slower that the Nikon 50mm G but then that does not really matter on a 35mm and there is so much depth of field anyway. I use the Nikon AF 35mm 1.8 G corrections in Lightroom and the images clean up nicely. Lightroom has no settings for Yongnuo lenses. Good buy.

The day this lens arrived, I shot a wedding with it and then a boudoir session. The photos were beautiful and Im so happy with it. If youre a Nikon user, and dont have a lot to spend on lenses, buy these! You wont be sorry at all!!

Pros: Faster confident focus than previous models quieter focus smooth zoom ring seems to be a fairly solid build no noticeable aberrations or lens flare sharp focus After reading a lot of reviews I decided to go ahead and order this lens while also trying to get the newest version of this lens I could. It seems to have gone through a couple updates. For 90 dollars you really cant go wrong. My lens on my D3300 had no issues focusing quickly and accurately. It even seemed quieter than previous models. I havent had a chance to take it out on a trip to put it through its paces completely but have had it for a few days. It doesnt have any noticeable lens flare or horrific aberrations. I havent been able to take a close look for focus between center and corners but seems to be just fine. It even has the same cap size as my nikon 50mm 1.8G so its a simple convenience.

I purchased this lens as a birthday present for my girlfriend along with her new DSLR. So far, it has worked great, takes nice pictures and she loves it. Great first lens to learn the ins and outs of photography.

I love this little lens. Its not perfect, but perfect cost $1500+ and you can still find faults! Focus is fast enough for me to shoot on the street with a D200. And clarity is good enough for prints. Thats all I need in a lens thats under $100.

The greatest challenge with the Nikond3000 and 5000 series cameras is since they are crop sensor cameras its hard to find a 50mm lens thats inexpensive and produces good images. Once you multiply the 1.5 crop factor using this lens it brings you to 50mm and the 2.0 aperture means you can produce good bokeh backgrounds.
