I cant say enough amazing things about this lens. It is SHARP AS A TACK! I use it at weddings, boudoir, headshots, family sessions and just about anything where 35mm would be best. I was so shocked at how amazing this lens is. Its currently on my camera now and I will be using it at my next shoot next week. I would HIGHLY recommend buying this over the bigger name 35mm lenses so you can see for yourself! Plus with this kind of price, you can really see if you like a 35mm or not.

Overall, for the price I feel like this is a good lens! I’ve been wanting to try it for awhile but have been weary. I used it in 3 different sessions and I did have a few photos where it just didn’t focus right and the photos were soft and not focused at all. But I had a bunch of great ones and I felt like it gave me a film inspired look. I shot the images on a crop sensor and I would say it’s best to get close to your clients to ensure clarity. I’ll continue to use the lens but will ensure to take duplicates to ensure some do focus correctly.

I am a professional photographer of over 7 years and I love this lens. This is perfect for shooting events and general outs and abouts when youd rather not use your premium glass (due to its weight or what youre shooting isnt worth potential risk). It is cheap, and feels cheaply made, but it is a great deal for what you pay for it. It performs surprisingly well in terms of autofocus, how fast the autofocus focuses, and sharpness in the photos. I wanted a wide prime with which to shoot nightlife, but did not want anyone to spill their drinks on my L or ART lenses. This does the job. The one con however, is that the autofocus is loud... sort of like the Nifty Fifty after which its modeled. But thats to be expected at this price point. If youre shooting video, youll likely be in manual focus and this wont be a problem.

For the price this seems to be a pretty good product. I bought it to take nice photos of my daughter and it works well. Not great. I read reviews where lots of purchasers said it’s not good for video, but that didn’t matter to me. My issue is that it doesn’t seem super clear. Which drives me insane. For instance- photos taken with this lens always seems to be a little extra grainy than they should be, also, using automatic focus is very slow and often doesn’t work very well. I have to shoot with manual focus most of the time with only this lens. I’m not sure if this is something with this one I have specifically or if they’re all like this. When my mother looks at the photos, she says she can’t tell... but I can

For the money, this seems like a decent budget lens. I also have Yongnuos 50mm lens... both these lenses must use the exact same body with different internals. It seems to focus ok, average speed, and noticeable noise but for still shots, it gets the job done. I wouldnt think it would be a choice for video users however (too noisy for video work). All in all, do I want those L-series Canon lenses... absolutely. Do I want to pay for those L-series... ouch. If youre getting into photography or just want to play around with prime lenses and take advantage of that F2 depth of field shot, this is pretty smart money to find out how much fun can be had!

I saw the positive & negative reviews for this lens and thought it was worth a try to snag a decent 35mm EF mount lens for $90. The copy I got is poor quality. Every shot is out of focus, straight lines bend heavily as they approach the edges, edges are distorted and blurred. Some people got good copies, I did not. Unfortunately for Yongnuo I was only willing to give them one chance. Returning this... Gonna drop the cash for an L series instead.

If youre looking for an inexpensive 35mm lens, this is a fair option. Nothing about it will have you excited, with the exception of the price. Image quality is fair--not bad, not special. The one thing of note is the auto-focus motor noise. I enjoyed it, but that was because it had this nostalgic 1980s robot gear sound that youve probably heard used in movies when a camera is zooming in. I laughed when I heard it for the first time because it is distinct and on the louder side. If you want silent operation, do not buy this unless youre a manual shooter. I wanted to try out the 35mm focal length on a full-frame camera, so this was a cheap way to see if I liked it. I would say if youre curious, it wont hurt for you give this a try. For the current price, you could probably do a lot worse.

White its a really cheap lens for what it is, its value in my opinion is questionable. When it can, this lens provides superb color quality with good sharpness. But more often that not, I have experienced missed focus, total inability to focus while a loud motor. Its price would excuse the material and build quality, but Id caution everyone given its actual usability. Its very good if you just want to take experimental shots, but stay away if you plan on taking it out on a day out.

I bought this lens one year ago, more out of curiosity than bona fide need. It became one of my top 2 go-to lenses for events. Here are my Pros and Cons: Pros: 1. I cannot believe how good the picture quality is for the price. I guess the price point set the bar for that pretty low...I expected a piece of junk. 2. Theres very little distortion. And, since Adobe has a profile for it, what little there is gets corrected in a couple of clicks. 3. Its very lightweight. As an event photographer, Ive got a flash gun in my left hand so my right hands camera & lens combo cant be heavy and this lens fills that need nicely. Cons: 1. The focusing mechanism has jammed on me twice in the past week. Its easy to unjam (just remove it from the camera, switch it to manual focus and force it free, then it works normally), but Im afraid repeated attempts to do so will likely result in something more permanent. I might be able to prevent that by transporting it unmounted to the camera since, since both the jams occurred right out of the bag. 2. It is a bit slow to focus and definitely too noisy to do any video. All in all, this lens brought me a year of solid performance. Would I do over again? Yes, absolutely. Would I buy another one if this one fails permanently? Probably not.

I was hoping this brand would work well with my Canon Rebel, but as soon as I put this lens on my camera, the camera shuts off. Doesnt matter how full my battery is, I take a couple pictures and my camera shuts off. Wont use anymore.
