This is my 1st prime lens. Quality of photos is good. I dont understand the auto focus delay and sound some of the guys are talking about.. Out of 20 shots, couple of times there is a second delay in autofocus. Otherwise, its good. I dont hear sound during autofocus. I could see quality i am looking for. Background is total blur and foreground face has all the focus. I wont be returning this one. Only missing part atleast is not too good in low light. I have to increase ISO or slow down shutter or add flash. I cant say thats missing because i did not test nikon 50mm 1.8g to say whats ideal working behavior. I dont say i will carry this all day around because i see that 18-55mm lens fits most of the purpose.

For the low price of $68, this is a solid lens. Its fast, sturdy and the autofocus works well. However, the picture quality is nowhere near as sharp as nice lenses within this focal length. In addition, I find that the images are almost always over-exposed. This creates more work and image-tampering in Lightroom (not fun when youre working with 150 of your clients photos). As the owner of several very nice lenses, I purchased this as a quick/cheap option to use in a pinch. However, I wouldnt recommend this lens for anything other than hobby-level/beginner photography.

I love this lens! I’m a beginner photographer, just bought my first DSLR. I quickly realized that my kit lens wasn’t going to take the types of pictures I was hoping for, but I didn’t have the funds to purchase the name brand one right now. Maybe it’s not the sharpest lens ever, but my photos look amazing. If you’ve got a small budget like me but still want to expand your lens collect this is it.

I have to admit. For the price, I was a bit wary of this lens. I knew the company made good lenses, and had seen reviews of this and other lenses by this manufacturer. The other reviews made me think I was okay with this order. I needed an autofocus 50mm for some portrait work I am planning. I had a manual focus lens, great glass-but I often missed good shots because my eyes are not as reliable as they should be. So I ordered this lens from FotoPal and Amazon Marketplace. It arrived in two days. It was well packaged and in perfect shape when I got it. I used it in a product shoot, and am extremely pleased. It was quick to find focus, seemed to nail it every time, and made great pictures. I would buy it again. Highly recommend.

I got this two days ago. Decided to throw it on my camera to see how it works. I have an older camera Nikon d3000. I was worried it wouldnt work because i have an older camera. Put it on. I turned it to guide to get the AF to work. OMG IT WAS AMAZING. The pictures are amazing . And that was just me going around taking pictures of random stuff in my house. The cat, the dog. Lol. I seen some reviews saying it wont last long. I am really hoping this lens does. If it doesnt I will update accordingly.

So happy I made the small investment for a better portrait lens. This takes beautiful bokeh fill photos of just about anything. Worth every penny. I use a Nikon D3400, this lens was easy to connect, auto focused in all settings and was very user friendly. I shared a few photos I used this evening, twilight in central Texas. Spend the money, your memories will thank you.

All the reviews and reports of the economy nifty-fifty lens may have raised my expectations, but the images I got seemed softer than I got with my standard zoom lens that came with the D5600 kit. Maybe there was an issue with my particular sample but aside from the smaller size, I didnt see much advantage of using this and losing the flexibility of the zoom and image stabilization. Ended up getting a Nikkor 35mm instead, which does show advantages in image quality from its ability to use lower ISO-

Ill just make a list to simplify. PROS: Cheap/good bargain Pretty good image quality, but not as good as a Nikkor CONS: Cheap - you can tell it isnt made as well Slow focus motor - like sometimes slow enough I miss my shot, so no to street and yes to laid-back landscapes Camera will say the lens is detached, so youll have to unlock it and relock it OVERALL: When I bought this I wasnt nearly as into photography as I am now. Then, it seemed like a good purchase. I was stuck between a 35 and a 50, so I bought the Nikkor 35 and this 50 as a compromise. I like this lens okay, but my 35, aside from preference, is so much more reliable. I just dont use this as much. I have missed shots from the slow focus or the camera saying the lens is detached. THE VERDICT: Spend the money and get a better lens. Do not use for street photography. If you are using a 50 for relaxed photography like landscapes, you will probably be okay.

A nifty 50 for 70 bucks! Well worth the money and works very well. No its not a $1,000 lens, but it is a lens that is 98% as good as the nikon 50mm for 1/4th the price. My only gripe is it looks nice, but does not feel as nice as it looks. The plastic is just not as good as others. But factor in the price and its better than others. Images are sharp and focus is good. again, 98% as good as OEM units. Add it to your camera bag ASAP and you wont regret it.

I am very meticulous when buying something online. I did some research about this lense, found good and bad things but my experience has been amazing, taking into consideration that I just have one week with it. -The advantage I have found so far is that you get really good portraits photos and breathtaking bokeh due to its wide aperture, and it not heavy at all, feels like nothing when I having o my hand, but the material seems to be resistent. -The only disavantage I found on this lens is that autofocus is not that sharp when you have more than one object, but manual focus is really smoth. Besides its a little bit noisy when focusing (But taking into consideration the price it doesnt really matters). I recommend it 100%. n_n
