I love the lens it has great focus and clarity the only drawback is the weight. Its very heavy and shooting without a tripod is difficult for a small framed individual, at least it is for me.

This lens is very similar to Nikons 200-500 but its 50mm wider and focuses quicker. I havent noticed any difference in sharpness - technique, light, distance, and weather conditions make a huge difference. If you are getting poor sharpness consider where you can improve on one of those variables first before you bash the lens. Ive owned the Canon 100-400 II, Nikon 200-500, and the Nikon 300mm f/4 PF and this lens is my favorite of the bunch. It focuses quicker than the 200-500 and the tap end console lets the user customize focus limiter settings which is important for getting quick focus for birds in flight. The option console also allows you to upgrade firmware which the other lenses dont offer. The VR on the 150-600 is far superior to the 300mm f/4 PF which is astounding considering Im using the 150-600 on a d500 which gives a full frame equivalent 900mm FOV. The picture I have of the Northern Flicker Woodpecker was shot at 1/30th with minimal effort, I probably could have gone down to 1/15 and gotten the shot If I wanted. On the 300mm f/4 PF, I didnt like going under 1/90th. The 100-400 II Canon lens is my second favorite out of the bunch but I prefer Nikon sensors on crop cameras because they are more capable at higher ISO. All in all, this lens has been a winner for me so far.

Excellent, Perfect for bird photography. The photographs are usually very sharp. But we have to be aware of the heavy weight of this lens which makes it impossible to use without a tripod.

absolutely awesome lens. works great with my Nikon d3400. Fast auto focus nice clear shots at 150 all the way up to 600mm. I do hand shoot with this lens and both the electronic stabilizer and auto focus are fantastic. I love that I can chuck or lock the lens down so I dont get any lens creep.well worth the money.

This is the second Tamron 150-600 G2 lens Ive ordered and returned because its just not sharp at 600mm. I was hoping the first lens was a fluke, but the second lens had the same issue. No amount of AF adjust would correct the problem and the image was soft even using live view with the camera/lens resting on sandbags. I wanted a little extra reach over my Nikon 200-500, but the loss in image quality isnt worth it at all. The Nikon lens is head and shoulders above the Tamron for image quality.
