First day out of the box on my Nikon D850 and the autofocus repeatedly freezes up. Need to turn the camera off and back on again for it to start working again. This happened multiple times. Not acceptable for a wildlife lens where timing is critical. If you read the online forums you will see this an issue with this lens. Sending it back in favor of the Nikon 200-500. Update: after one month of using the Nikon 200-500 I can say I am very happy with it. Tack sharp, fast and accurate auto focus. Keeper.

This is the second Tamron 150-600 G2 lens Ive ordered and returned because its just not sharp at 600mm. I was hoping the first lens was a fluke, but the second lens had the same issue. No amount of AF adjust would correct the problem and the image was soft even using live view with the camera/lens resting on sandbags. I wanted a little extra reach over my Nikon 200-500, but the loss in image quality isnt worth it at all. The Nikon lens is head and shoulders above the Tamron for image quality.
