This is an ok lens in bright light and for general use. The major down for this lens is it does not preform well in low light and the bokeh is not good at all. After taking hundreds of photos with this lens I have came to the ultimate conclusion that you should save up your money and buy a sharper lens. Sigma offers some sharp lenses that are less expensive than the Nikon. The only sharp Tamron lens I own, that is worth every penny, is the the Tamron 70-200 f 2.8 G2. I no longer own this lens.

This product is ok. I bought this lens in hopes to replace my Nikon 18-55mm lens. I needed something with a much larger zoom than 55mm and didnt want to have to switch lenses to get there. This is a beginner lens for sure. The image stabilization is so-so at best, the focus is incredibly loud if you shoot any video, and in post production many of the images left much to be desired clarity and focus wise despite shooting with a monopod for extra stability, something I havent had with any other lenses Ive used. All in all its good for a hobbyist beginner, but if you really want consistantly good images and a lens that you can rely on, spend the extra money on a nicer lens.

I purchased this lens in order to have a telephoto option to accompany my nicer prime lenses. To make a long story short, this is not a very sharp lens. Yes, the convenience factor of 18-200 is something to consider. However, this lens shoots very soft, and in my opinion is terribly un-sharp. In fact many of my photos have been flat out unusable, even with heavy post production in RAW format. Much better (and sharper) options out there for this price.

I took this on a 3 week trip to England were I wanted a wide range of options with a single lens. Be aware this lens has nice optics but a plastic mount. The Camara kept telling me no lens was attached. Easy fix, take it off and put it back on. But ultimately you loose your shot. Returned
