Great little lens. I was going on vacation, but didnt want to bring my monster 80-200 2.8 with me. It was a good lens in its time, but my D750 picks up too many of the imperfections that I wouldnt have noticed shooting film. So I took this along instead. Not only did it give me longer reach, but the VC works just as advertised. I didnt notice the lack of speed during the super bright day, racked all the way out to 300. And when I shot some longer exposures, that VC really helped. The PZD renders this nearly silent (to be fair, I was in public most of the time so I couldnt have heard the lens anyway). Highly recommended as a travel lens, when you dont want/have to take the big guns out.

I recently went on a trip to San Antonio with this as my only camera lens. I never felt limited by the lens. The image stabilization allowed me to hand-hold even fully zoomed to 300mm without too much blur. Ive used a 300mm lens without stabilization in the past and it was hard to get a clear shot. There is quite a bit of chromatic aberration to this lens, but its easily corrected in the computer. I ended up walking almost 14 miles one day of this trip, toting this lens and camera all the way. I was much happier to be carrying only this one lens than a collection of lenses to match the same range of focal lengths.

As a long-time L-series lens purist, I was looking for a versatile zoom to use on vacation/travel events. Scott Kelby swears by this lens so I gave it a try. I am impressed. It does not have the clarity and performance of an L-series lens (eg. 70-200 mm 2.8) but for the price I have been very pleased. Took it on a 6-day visit to NYC and even in low light situations, it performed well. I used it with a Canon 5D, Mk II. It will not replace my L-series for serious shoots, but as a walk-around lens, it more than exceeded expectations.

Very fast shipping. This is a very good all purpose walk around lens. I only took it out once to a baseball game and the images are pretty good; not quite as sharp as my L lenses but for the price really up there for quality. The reversed rotation of this lens compared to my Canon lenses will take some getting used to but I love that the lens doesnt creep even if you dont lock it. Because it goes out to 300mm its also a very nice portrait lens but I need to test it a bit more on that end. Its my first and only Tamrom lens and Im pretty happy with it and it make a great addition to my other Canon lenses.

I bought this lense a few weeks ago not knowing if I would like it but I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by its versatility and the quality of the images. In addition, its easy to pack, light and you get so much adjustment on focal length that its a no brainer for short trips where carrying a full camera and equipment pack is unreasonable or undesirable. Very quiet too. Definitely recommend.

I purchased the dx version lens for my Nikon d7100 camera. I thought that lens was good. This fx lens for my new d750 seems worlds better. Im a typical amateur photographer yet I can definitely see the difference in clarity. Maybe its the camera, the combination of this lens and the camera but in either case Im thrilled with the results I get

Excellent lens. I use it with my D500 for wild life. It is fast and reliable. Focus is sharp and quick even when camera is in boost. I would recomend to anyone who needs a excellent lens for wildlife.

Very handy travel size lens. I admit I am a little spoiled in Canon L series sharpness however I usually carry this lens and a Canon 16-35 f/4 L when Im traveling light in close conditions like a large city.

I thought this lens would be about the same as my Sony 18-200 for my A6000, but I can’t believe the difference. So much better. I got this for my new Nikon D750 and wasn’t sure it was going to be a very good choice, very pleasantly surprised! Am more than happy to carry around one general lens and one wide lens instead of having to carry around three to cover the same amount of area. Only one complaint and that’s the vignette when opened all the way out from 28mm to about 40mm.
