I used to replace my 18/55 kit lens and it did the job well. Not sure it can fit in jeans pocket but its a lot lighter and more compact. Now I can blend in with the pretend hipsters with their little point and shoot because the kit lens was social suicide. Packaging wise I got mine in a mess. It seemed to be used or just not cared for. No dings or anything the front and rear of the lens were just filthy but it cleaned up well and works.

Works just like my kit lens did! (It got broken so I had to replace it) It looks only a little bit funny because its silver and not black, but for a several hundred dollar difference, I would pick this lens any day over the black one. I love my Sony Nex-6 and this lens! Great for taking a variety of pictures in a variety of settings that look way more professional than any of the other non-professional cameras Ive had in the past.

I purchased this lens to mate up to a used Sony NEX 5R I purchased. Im really pleased with the quality of the photos Ive gotten with the lens. My SLR is a Nikon 750D so Im used to a really good quality output from my camera. Im seeing very good results and thats impressive. I paid the high price for quicker shipment and it was worth it. I think I got the lens in two or three days from SK, which is fantastic. It arrived wrapped in bubble wrap as I had expected from the posts here. But was very clean and new. So Im very happy with my purchase!

I bought this lens to use on my Sony a5000 because my son broke the lens that came with the camera. When I recieved the lens it work great for pictures. However, now Im trying to record and it wont allow me to record. Camera will record 3-7 seconds then it stops. Bought the Asurion insurance just in case and cant even use it. Its all a WASTE OF MONEY!!!

I ordered the SELP1650 16-50mm Power Zoom Lens as a replacement for the same exact lens that was included with my Sony A6000. The lens is very versatile, small, and has a decent range for a small zoom lens. I had a small accident which caused the zoom ring to have been bent and prevented the lens from being recognized because the zoom barrel was locked in place. In the future, I intend to repair the lens by buying the bent ring, but in the meantime I ordered an exact replacement so I can keep shooting. The lens came promptly and it works just as the kit lens did. Although the merchants description said it was bulk packaging, it was simply a nondescript carton with appropriate Sony labeling. It didnt look like one you would buy as retail in a camera store, but it was labeled as a Sony lens with the appropriate part number, and with Sony documentation. There were also lens caps for the front and back of the lens. Since my camera is Silver, it was the exact same lens as my original kit lens, and it functions just the same. Why 4 stars? Well because it has some of the same downfalls of the original. While flexible for the types of shooting it does, its not as clear as any higher priced lens like Zeiss. All in all, it does a great job just like the kit lens that came with the camera.

Its been a couple of months, and its giving me a couple of issues not going back in/out at times. I have to be gentle in fixing it, but it looks great when it does work well.

Very happy with this lens. Although this doesnt take the same quality pictures as a $1000+ lens, its very small size and portability make it an acceptable trade off. If youre looking for national geographic quality photos, you may want to keep looking, but if you want very nice day to day photos, this is the lens for you.

This lens worked fine for 18 months then would not work. Slow and sluggish, then "Cannot recognize lens. Attach it properly." None of the work-rounds suggested on the net eliminated or reduced the problem, so I ended up buying a new camera, which apparently I should have done instead of buying this lens.

Just an automatic regular lens. I prefer the manual lens that I already had, but comes in handy for travels =)
