Its an interesting lens. It can produce very nice results when stopped down, and works well in low light. The AF is extremely fast and silent. The focus ring is poorly damped and not really nice. The finish on the shade gets scratched much too easily. The lens is light, but not that compact. The big downside to it, in my experience, is that the corners need much stopping down to become acceptable (beyond f/8, at least on my copy). Also, the lens distorts heavily, and benefits enormously from a profile in LR or PS. Flare is well controlled.
