This is my first high end lense so I dont have much to compare it to but the pictures I have taken are the best Ive made. Product seems built to last. The zoom is smooth and manual focus is easy to use.

The 24-70 has always been my workhorse lens for weddings. After switching to Sony from Canon is was time to get this guy! Does not disappoint. The zoom is tight when moving it but that seems to be more common with the Sony G lenses over my previous Canon glass. Nice and sharp images and focus fast with my Sony A7r iii.

This was a lens I have been waiting for. Finally, have a great camera (Sony a7r ii) paired with an equally great lens. The colors are overall much better. The detail captured is phenomenal. This has become my lens of choice even when Ive wanted more of a telephoto lens. Have found that with this camera + this lens, taking the shot and during post-processing, crop it, I get a cropped/zoomed photograph that still retains the clarity. Do have a zoom lens as well and when using it, am disappointed that it cannot match (quality-wise) what I get from this lens. Many have written that its just too heavy. Heavy it is. Heavy is worth it to me to get the quality I need/expect.Plus, I do have a hand grip and shoulder sling setup up so I can easily take the camera + lens on longer hikes, etc without fatigue. Agree that having this around your neck would be abysmal. I had never spent this kind of money on a lens before, but am a "believer" now. Its worth the extra cost if color saturation and clarity are important to you and your photography.

Just like the headline says! The lens is very heavy, expensive, and takes amazing images. Very sharp.

advantages: Sharp image, beautiful bokeh, amazing quality. drawbacks: Heavy, expensive and fragile. Must cooperate with A7R series to release its full power.

Where should I start? Build quality ... check. Sharpness ... 10. Its a game changer. I love this lens. Great for event photography or general photography. Not for portrait use but great for vacation and family photos.

This lens is a champ. 24-70 is a great range, and at f/2.8, I can get great results even in low light. Very sharp throughout, with minimal vignetting. Fantastic bokeh.
