I have not owned this lens yet but it rent it from Adorama rental during the last winter storm that passed through New York and North East region the first week of January 2018. Freaking awesome lens. Sharp corner to corner. Awesome details too. Attached is my shot of the Throg Neck Bridge from Little Bay in Queens, New York, at sunset. I am trying to sell a Canon Tilt-Shift 24mm and an old but trusted Canon 5DM2 body so I can get this lens!!! :-(

This lens is crazy good!!! Sharpness from corner to corner is a 10. As with most ultrawides, you really have to nail your verticals when shooting 12-16mm. Otherwise your subject comes out severely distorted. The weight feels solid nd makes the lens seem durable. Definitely not the lightest lens, but I wouldnt call it heavy either. I shoot real estate pictures and videos so having a durable ultrawide is a must for me. I shoot with the a7rii, so the ability to crop in to 24-35mm made this a no brainer when compared with the Zeiss 16-35 (still a fantastic lens). I have absolutely no regrets! This is my favorite lens.

Great lens but I dont find myself using it as much as I thought primarily since I dont have the patience for landscapes .

Amazing lens but it flares CONSTANTLY! I shoot houses and need 12mm occasionally. Thats the only reason I purchased it. It is sharp and light but am constantly dealing with flare issues.

The SEL1224G is a very nice lens in many ways, however, it ended up being returned for a few key reasons. For starters, a landscape lens needs the ability to use filters and unfortunately this lens does not allow for that. The next issue is its max aperture of f/4 as this slow speed makes for difficult low-light photography and poor astrophotography. Additionally, the weight and overall size is just a bit bigger than one would hope for. Sharpness is wonderful edge to edge so have no concerns there.

Sent back. I already have the 16-35 f/4 and the Rokinon 14mm manual focus. Going down to 12mm wasnt that much and at max of 24 mm is too wide compared to zooming it at 35mm.
