Wonderful lens. Pair to our Alpha 6300, best camera weve ever had. Replaced a Nikon D7000 and spectacular lens, and we actually think it takes better pictures, way faster, better autofocus, and about 1/2 the size. A feel good purchase.
I searched and reviewed three lenses before buying this lens. I am very happy with it. It is smaller and lighter than you would think for a super zoom. Manufacturing quality is what I have come to expect with Sony. I have about 200 photos I have taken and am happy with them all regarding lens performance. I do not pixel peep...and equally, this is not a prime. When compared against Zeiss or Sony primes this will always be a bit less in a few measures. I like that I can leave home with this lens mounted on the camera and not worry about it after that...zoom in and still have a nice wide angle. The bokeh is very good and it is plenty sharp. Macro use is excellent when combined with extension tubes. On vacation I will likely bring one other lens...Sony 35_f1.8. I would recommend this lens for serious consideration if you have gotten to the point of reading Amazon reviews.
A really solid all in one lens. I purchased this for my Sony A6000 and I was expecting a ok looking image from a lens at this price point but boy was I wrong this is able to produce some solid looking photos and it has a wide enough angle to capture what you need along with a nice zoom. This is a great all in one lens for a small and portable camera I would recommend this with the Sony A6000 for someone whos looking for a solid lens to use with there camera.
I really like this lens. It is a great combination of compact size, sharp image quality, and great zoom. I want great images when I travel but I dont want to be bogged down. I am really enjoying the best of all worlds with this lens.
I purchased this lens before going to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos. Very light and all round lens. It performed very well. I carried two Sony mirrorless cameras that weighed a fraction of my old DSLRs .
The LE version of this lens is amazing! Its smaller 62mm size makes it even lighter than the 67mm version. There is zero lens creeping like in the larger version either. Fast auto focus and super steady OSS ( optical steady shot). This is my go to lens!
