Camera used A6300 For Photography- It is as soft as they say around the edges, but center is very sharp. Not great for landscapes, no edge to edge sharpness even at f5.6 or f8. For video this is Amazing with incredible sharpness especially for 4k. The Auto focus is fast and no sounds at all! Extremely quiet no annoying motor sounds or clicking! The OSS helps so much for steady handheld shots, and helps the noise algorithm so no more blur and very sharp at high iso for handheld shots. Bulk package means no fancy box, just bubble wrapped in a simple box. New as described.

The lens is fast to focus and set exposures accurately. And the lens is a nice size and is sharp corner to corner. It has a good near focus when wide. But I may be buying another one because it buzzes when seeking focus. This lens was bought to replace another that I damaged and this one has not held up for a full year yet. I like the size, speed, and performance, but this early sign of weakness is not pleasing. Failure in remote places is a concern.

Good everyday little zoom at a fraction of the cost of larger more expensive lenses. Great for walking around. Recently shot a few pics on the Blue Ridge Parkway with this lens. Ive attached one below.

I own a Sony A7III body and a Sony 24-105mm lens which I use for work and love dearly, but lugging the whole thing around when travelling is pretty heavy and inconvenient, so I wind up leaving my camera at home whenver I go out. This made me feel pretty guilty cause beside shooting for work, I recently started a travel blog and want to have my camera with me everywhere to catch all the good moments. Before heading out for a 3-week road trip from SF to Seattle, I decided to get this lens. Couldnt have been happier with this decision! My camera and I are now inseparable. Photo quality is definitely not as great as my work lens, but for the travel blog, its perfectly nice and crisp and very fast. Sometimes I wouldnt even feel it dangling off my side because of how light weight it is. I shoot out of the cars window on the highway a lot and the auto focus is super reliable. Im 100% happy with it all and all!

12/17: Small and very sharp. Perfect carry around lens. Would love an extra f:stop, but size would then be an issue. This works. 5/18: After 6 months use, I have determined that while compact, the lens is not nearly as sharp as my set of Sigma E mount prime lenses. While I thought this would be the case, I did not think that the sony zoom would be as bad as it is. I like the handling and the weight of the zoom, but the images are just not up to par. Tried setting the camera to RAW + JPEG with histogram displayed. Tried Manual, Aperture Preferred, no significant difference in the results. Going to set up back to JPEG only and use this when weight and space are premium. I have a CANON S100, which is a pretty good Point & Shoot. It runs circles around this lens for image quality, and my Sony Camera is an APS-C sensor model (bigger sensor). So it must be the lens. Usable but oh so soft...

Good value for a lens - my only issue is that the lens I received seems to have a white spot stuck inside. Not too big of a deal, but I will likely purchase the higher quality lens next time around.

Does not need motor. OK lens but cannot fine focus. Has a zoom ring but not focus ring. It makes my walk around camera a little nicer because so light. I would rather have focus ring than auto zoom. Works well on the Somy camera when I dont want to carry the big rig. Recommend. Try the wide angle Neewer and other similar manual lens.

I do like the range and especially the 16mm wide angle for landscapes, but it is not a really good lens, barrel distortion is pretty bad, and extremely sensitive to moisture. Other than that it takes good pictures. However, I already bought my second replacement, will see how long it lasts. Do not go out with this on a foggy day! And treat it as if it was paper - it is very breakable! Sony should offer a more robust kit zoom than this, considering how many people use it, it would be a good way to make many customers happy.

Great everyday lens or for making your camera footprint smaller if limited on space and you need some zoom.
