This is an amazing lens. One of the nicest I have ever owned and that is really saying something. Ive been shooting professionally for 25 years and have owned just about everything in the Nikon world in those years...

No disappointments with using this lens. Its sharp, well built, and definitely worth paying the price for my most used lens.

First of all, I purchased this lens along with the Sony A7II. My first impression of this lens is that it is well made. It has a solid build. Better then any DSLR lens I have ever owned. I have used this lens for approx the last 9 months. I really do not have any complaints about this lens. A few things that I love about this lens. The build quality is amazing. This lens also has beautiful glass. Its sharp as well. (I would hope so since its a Zeiss Lens) This lens is my favorite lens that I own and I would highly recommend it. One thing I would want to tell everyone though, is this lens is kind of on the heavy side. But it is one sharp beautiful piece of glass.

I love this lens! I got it from the amazon warehouse deals and it finally arrived! Took it to the park at night and it did NOT disappoint!

A perfect fit for the A7 for landscapes. Bought it specifically for a tour of Arizona and Utah, and over the 2 weeks, the lens never came off the camera. Balance of lens on the small mirrorless body was just about perfect. Item was ordered and delivery was spot on - received it within 2 days using Amazon Prime membership. For a zoom, it was remarkably sharp throughout the zoom lens range, with minimal barrel distortion at the 16mm end. Also, no soft edges even when shooting at F4 at 16mm end. Lens was pin sharp at F5.6-F8, and had a beautiful starburst effect when closed down. Used it for landscapes and even tried astro-photography with it. At F4, it was good enough to give 30 sec exposure at ISO 1600 for some superb shots.

Very sharp at every focal length, even in the corners, Good contrast and color, have not seen color fringing that some complain of. While somewhat large, it takes the place of three of my prime lenses reducing the weight of what I have to carry and the size of the bag I use.

I shoot architecture and interiors professionally (StevenLongPhotography.com) and have owned and used most high quality lenses that would be considered for this purpose. I find the lens the 16-35 to be exceptional. I doubt it would be a good match for all needs in wide angel photography and doubt any lens would be. In disclosure I use the lens on a very high quality tripod, images stabilization off and generally at relative small apertures. Please note that shooting at small apertures the differences between lenses is not always as great as it would be at wide apertures. I am pleased with the sharpness and optical character of the lens. I have owned the lens since October 2014 and had no issues with construction or durability
