I love this mm for candids and street photography. 24mm used to be my favorite focal distance but lately Ive noticed how wide 24mm really is. I was using the Canon pancake and I love the light weight and small size on my SL2. However, this Sigma is an absolute beast. It excels in all areas. It is noticeably heavier but thats not necessarily a bad thing. It feels like a quality lens. The new Sigma Art series are very sleek looking. Its a fast lens with excellent sharpness and bokeh. I wish I would have bought this sooner. This is my new walk around lens.

This is a LOW LIGHT lense. Leave the flash OFF. Perfect for around the house during holidays for portraits. Keep the lights low and you’ll be amazed by the quality of the photos. No dark shadows under peoples eyes. Excellent “bokeh” backgrounds can be achieved with this lense. Took my son’s newborn photos and I’ve had several people ask me for our professional photographer’s contact info, not knowing that I had taken them myself. I have mine mounted to a Canon Rebel T6 DSLR.

Great lens. Using it on T6S. Replacing nifty-fifty. I had struggled with indoor photography using 50mm. It was too close on cropped-framed camera. This 30mm gives me the wiggle room I need while still delivering the wide open aperture necessary for indoor low-light conditions.

I own the 5d2 and many other lenses, my go to lense was my Sigma 35mm 1.4 awesome lense but heavy. I looked at other smaller camera options (Sigma, Sony, etc) but was never satisfied with quality of pics. Always came around to my trusty 5d2. Now this 30mm 1.4 and my my 50mm 1.4 will be my walk around camera setup from now on. Excellent pics from this 30mm lense.

I am using it with my new Canon D7 Mark II. The lens built quality is amazing and beautiful. Looks very professional. The lens hood is included and it feels and looks better than the standard Canon hoods. The photo bokeh with this lens is gloriously beautiful. This is my first Sigma lens and I am very impress. The Canon 1.8f 50mm is $100 less but this Sigma lens is 30mm and is design for APS-C cameras which puts me around 48mm. With a 50mm and my APS-C Ill be around 78mm which I do not want. Yes, this lens will also work with APS-H cameras as well. I am extremely happy with this lens and I highly recommend it.

I must have great luck with Sigma lenss. I have the 17-50 F2.8 and now this 30mm F1.4 both are excellent lens, very sharp, perform great on my D500. The Bokeh on this lens is just spectacular. I have the Nikon 30mm 1.8 DX lens, this Sigma lens is way sharper and much better build quality, will be selling the Nikon lens.

This lens is a beautiful piece of optic, all made in Japan just the way they know how to do it. Very silent motor, feels very solid. Like some other reviewers are saying, leave the flash alone, or forget about it all together. I though about for some time getting this lens, I am not sure why I wait so long. I also have the Tamron 16-300mm, and three more lenses, but this Sigma lens will be my to go lens from now on.

This lens will treasure beautiful, sharp, crisp images while also giving you the option to get soft, dreamy light ones. The focal length is great for my 80d. I have noticed some slight softening on the edges but nothing drastic. I have had no issues with vignettes at all. The DoF is gorgeous and gives a fantastic artsy feel to ordinary photos.

In love!!! I have been using this to take very good quality pictures and videos and let me tell you it is so much better than the average kit lens that I started off with! If you are looking for a good lens I good recommend this one if you are looking to up your quality. It came with a lens hood and carrying pouch which is a huge bonus!! You can also achieve some pretty great bokeh and I absolutely have just fallen in love for the blurry background and all of the capabilities of this lens! The only con I found was a noisy focus but you can easily fix that by switching it to manual.
