This lens... It does not disappoint. My first Sigma Art lens was the 50 1.4 and I immediately fell in love with it. I can shoot entire engagement sessions and most of a wedding day with that thing. I have the Nikon 24-70 2.8 which I love dearly, but I wanted a sharper prime for my wide angle stuff. That lead me to the Sigma 24 1.4 Art. Easily one of my favorite lenses Ive ever used. Perfect for lots of things, but I primarily use it on wedding days to get wide venue shots. I also use it for real estate photography. The sharpness of this lens is intimidating. When I still shot Canon I had the Canon 24 1.4L II, and I thought it was the sharpest slr lens on the planet, but this Sigma is as sharp or sharper. Pairing it with my D810 bodies gives me levels of detail you only see in higher end medium format cameras. If youre needing a good wide angle prime and youre picking between this and the Nikon or Canon equivalent, go for the Sigma unless you have to have weatherproofing.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS LENS! However, my three star review does not go to the company that sent me the lens, they were 5 star amazing. The reason I give this three stars is because the lens was very soft when I got it. I feel like sigma being a very reputable company, should be able to have their lenses in focus and not soft. I had to order the USB doc and update it in order to have it be in focus. Once updated it was clear as any Canon L series I have or have used. But I feel its not cool to have to spend money on a lens and then spend extra money to update it because Sigma cant get its focus right when it comes to you out of the box.

I attempted to get one of these used, but it had problems focusing so it was returned. I bought this primarily for astrophotography, but it’s quality and sharpness demand it’s use for landscape, architecture and editorial shots. It is razor sharp and very low chromatic aberration or distortion. I highly recommend this lens. It will give you noticeable results that I believe you will love.

I don’t recommend this lens at all. Misses focus about 60% of the time. Took it into a local camera shop and paid $40 to have it calibrated, still doesn’t focus. Sent it into Sigma for repair and it still misses focus constantly. I’m giving 2 stars because when it does catch focus, the photos are beautiful, but the stress of missing important shots isn’t worth it. Learn from my mistake and go name brand!

An excellent prime lens, especially for the price. I opted out of this lens though in favor of the Sigma 24-35 f2 ART series lens which is so close in quality to this prime that it only made sense to carry this one lens instead of using the 24mm and the 35mm Sigma ART lenses although both were excellent the 24-35 were their equal in real world shooting and much more convenient.....

When I bought this lens - I was really hesitant. For the price and off brand - I feared aberration, noise and slow focus. To my surprise this lens not only focus quickly, its quiet and takes amazing photos. Its the best lens I own (disclosure: Im an amateur photographer

This has been one of my all time favorite lenses! It is a heavy lens for sure, but well worth it. The clarity and detail that I get is fantastic. This is also a very good lens for nighttime photography. The 1.4 aperture makes for great depth of field as well. I would highly recommend this lens to anyone. Its also hard to beat this price for the quality you get.

An incredible prime from Sigma. I own the 50mm 1.4 Art from Sigma as well, and the 24mm is simply a wide version of the 50. Very similar image quality and character. I am a HUGE Sigma fan, and the 24mm definitely did not disappoint. I have the Canon mount versions that I adapt to my Sony A7III via Sigmas MC-11; they work flawlessly with Sony cameras.

Sigma is really winning my heart with lenses like this one. Its sharp edge to edge at f/1.8 and still very reasonable to use at f1.4. Makes for some absolutely beautiful astro photography as well. Using it connected to a D850 and it does not disappoint.
