I also have the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 VC lens. While it is a good lens and great in low light, it seemed to be lacking in tack sharpness. Hard to put my finger on it. The Sigma is very sharp. It also has that little extra reach which really counts. I bought this lens when Amazon was out of stock on new ones. I ended up getting it right here on Amazon in perfect condition for a great price used. I use it on a Nikon D810 and it hasnt left it since I received it. Im very happy with it. I havent had to make any focus adjustments to the lens.and I do not as of yet own the dock for it.

I have been using it with my new Sony A7iii and the MC-11 and took it on an 8 days trip to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. It was the perfect choice as I seldom felt the need to switch to my 70-200. Amazingly sharp wide open and it works perfectly on the Sony.

This has become my go-to lens, over my Canon 24-70 f2.8 II. This lens is great, love it! Sharp, clear, and the colors really come out. Read the good reviews and decided to try it out, very glad I did.

Im using this lens with my Canon 7D and it is by far the best performing lens Ive ever used and that includes Canon "L" lenses. Sharpness is excellent. So far Ive shot a bunch of test shots for "pixel peeping" and even 100% crops look great. Color rendition seems quite accurate, but tweaks are easily made in Lightroom or whatever your favorite post processor happens to be. I bought this lens based on many favorable reviews and for the fact that it will work with "full frame" cameras which continue to come down in price as performance increases. This is a very good value for the money.

This is a really heavy but pretty sharp lens wide open at f4.0. My only complaint is the massive amount of vignetting at f4 pretty much all the way through but of course worse at wider angles. For RAW photos its easily fixed in Camera RAW or Lightroom/Aperture with one click (its a big difference). But when shooting video it can not be so easily fixed, but usually not as severe.

Overall this is a decent lens but really no better than the Canon 24-105L. My main issue with the lens is the SERIOUS vignetting and distortion that occurs at 24mm which is so bad that it is difficult to correct even in Lightroom. The image quality is generally good but the OS on this lens provides maybe 3 stops of assistance, certainly not as good as other forms of stabilization Ive used on other lenses. I love Sigmas 35mm 1.4 art lens, but this lens is a disappointment.

A great walking around lens. I have a Nikon D810 and this is the lens I use for day to day travel.

I traded in my 24-105L for this and I am very happy. The sharpness of Sigmas lenses carries over to this very useful focal range! This lens WIDE OPEN at f/4 is sharper than my Canon 50mm f1.4 AT f/4!! This lens is in a different league than the old Canon. Some bad things? Focus breathing. Its pretty noticeable throughout the range, also the focus ring is TINY (check out the picture) and VERY uncomfortable to actually use! So basically this lens is great, but for video i would look to the 24-105 f/4L by Canon for its larger focus ring and less focus breathing even if the image quality is worse

Great lens. Heavy and sturdy. High quality. We have gone to this lens as our go to lens for all our studio work. The only complaint is that the week following our purchase Sigma and all dealers put this lens on sale for fathers day at $100 off. I contacted Circuit City to see if they would honor the discount so close to purchase. They told us to contact Amazon to make a return. Didnt want the hassle of a return, although it would have apparently saved me $100. But the lens is top of the line, and Id highly recommend it to any serious photographer.

Offers stable and fine image quality from wide to mid-telephoto range This lens has a combination of fixed aperture and a good zoom ratio that is kept as high as possible minimum focusing distance of 45cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:4.6. great for close up photography;Includes Lens Hood, front & rear caps MC-11 Compatible
