No In-Lens Image Stabilization, which isnt usually an issue if you have a a6500 or a Sony body with In-Camera Stabilization. Some chromatic distortion and noticeable barrel distortion (easily removed with lens profiles in Adobe Lightroom and wont show if on JPEG mode). But definitely recommended for those who want a fun, versitize lens for trips, selfies, and other times you need a wide-angle lens on the cheap.

Seeing alot of 5 star reviews, and ok pics, I thought this would be a good buy for My Sony E mount camera. Truth is this is not worth $423 after tax. 200 mabey. But definitely not double that. The image is not that great until you edit it. See the before and after pic. Im a professional photographer, and the base image is pretty bad. There is ALOT OF GRAIN at f1.4, with a very muddy look. It also has terrible bokeh for a prime lens. It acts more like an f2.8 lens, you see plenty of detail in the background, where you should have an ultra blurry background. Fine for a beginner but not a pro. Other lenses like the canon EF F1.8 50mm, completely blur tbe background, and cost $100 and can be adapted to Sony E mount! I use Fotodoix adapters, and honestly My results are significantly better. This lens truly doesnt feel like an F1.4, until you are taking night photos. Only then you can get tons of details, that is f1.4 quality. Loads of light comes in, which is great for night shooters. It even shoots great night video, but does tend to overexpose a bit, without extra accessories. For everyone else, go for better glass. This is going to overexpose images of a few occasions, cause extra grain, offer no stabilization, and produce awful bokeh..all for a brisk 400+ dollars. This is a solid night photography lens, but thats it. Unless you like editing out plenty of imperfections. Btw, this also isnt great for youtube videos. The manual focus ring is too big. You cant hold this lens and stay in focus 100% of the time. This lens messed up plenty of My shots, because a focus locking feature wasnt added. Its an average starter f1.4, and not Sony G glass or Zeiss material. So if youre looking for that just buy the better glass. Goodluck and dont fall for the glowing reviews like I did. Most people reviewing are clearly new to photography. Note: Top pic edited, bottom pick not.

I bought this awesome lens after breaking (dropping) my kit lens that came with my a6300...then I broke my lcd on my precious a6300 too...a month before my only child’s out of country wedding...so;I bought an a6500 and this Sigma f1.4 16mm. More AWESOME NESS! Lens is one of highest aspc lenses, period. I shot rookie dad pics and a couple of 4K videos at the wedding. All sharper by far than the Sony 16-50mm kit lens. Sigma E-mount lenses are seriously high quality! I would buy this again. Also sigma anything!

I sold my Sigma 19mm f2.8 and get the Sigma 16mm f1.4. Love the wide of the picture and colors that produce the lens with my Sony a6000. Its really sharp and a little faster than the f2.8 focusing the object or a person. I have a Rokinon 12mm f2.0 but now the Sigma 16mm f1.4 its my favorite for walking around and took some street photography pictures. The box came with a dent but the lens inside its pretty good protected.

Perfect for video and pictures in any light conditions. Going to be mounted most of the time on my upcoming trips. Focus is very fast. Sigma hit a home run with this lens. Balances great on Weebill gimbal. If you have A6*** Sony body, this lens is a must have.

Love it... for my Sony A6000, so the lense is 24mm f2 great wide angle, sharp, clean, and easy to use. I use it for videos also (like vlogging). since the A6000 and the Sigma 16mm do not have OIS or any stabilization, the wide angle allows for those imperfections and does not disrupt the shot. Since the lens is so fast, I am able to take great photos, and great photos (like selfie videos with my A6000) while walking. Highly recommend this for those of you who are looking for a good wide angle lense, at a great price, with awesome performance.

Ive really been enjoying this lens a lot. I primarily use it on my gimbal ( Zhiyun Crane) for filming wide angle moving shots. Its a decent size, but not too big to be balanced on a gimbal. The auto focus is surprisingly good, but not perfect of course on the Sony a6500. I replaced my Rokinon 14mm manual lens with this, its much sharper and does better in low light.

I am taking many pictures of paintings in museums and exhibits. I was using up to now a Sony 30mm prime lens. Most of the time you need a wider angle lens, either because you cannot get far enough from the painting or there are many people in front of you taking pictures with smart phones that have wide angle. I therefore bought this Sigma 16mm. First thing to be worried about is distortion Looking on the screen or the viewer of my A6000 Sony before taking the picture, big distortion is there. But once you have taken the picture, no more distortion is visible. The auto correction of the camera is indeed very effective. You have also to be very careful to minimize perspective distortion by properly locate the camera. Then with a proper software, final corrections can be done. Very clear and crispy pictures with no visible distortion are then obtained. Just great! Only problem, the lens is quite bulky and heavy, but it is worthy.

SOOOOO SHARP! Insanely sharp and quiet lens! I got this for my A6500 which I started to use it for as my primary lens. After I upgraded to a A7R3 which is full frame, I sold all of my other APS-C lenses but kept this one, despite it being APS-C, it still functions beautifully even on full frame but in APS-C mode. Just cant get myself to get rid of this one!

Havent had too many chances to use this, but if its anything like its 30mm sibling this thing will be amazing. Used it in a low light scenario and it performed beautifully at 1.4 aperture! The autofocus was impeccable (something the 30mm tends to not do well in low light) and it has a nice, sharp image. A bit on the bulky side, but worth it for that creamy bokeh and insane low light performance!
