I bought this to use with my Canon 80D. I have another Sigma zoom lens that takes excellent pictures and think this will live up to my expectations from that experience. It is a heavy lens, so you will have trouble shooting handheld, and will almost certainly need to use a sturdy tripod to ensure sharp images. I set it up on my carbon fiber tripod and it worked great. I cant speak to the durability yet as Ive only had it a few days, but the lens does come with a well-padded case in the box, which should do a good job protecting it. There is an extra strap to attach to the tripod ring if you want to carry it that way, but Im not sure thats a good idea. The reason Im giving it 4 stars right now is that there seem to be some auto focusing issues that may or may not be the fault of the lens and how it matches up to the Canon requirements. I couldnt get the auto focus to work reliably while shooting around the neighborhood. Ill need to read the instructions that came with the lens carefully again and check the settings on my camera body, then want to try it taking pictures of some wildlife at a distance as well as closer in. The package extras from Focus Camera were a wonderful addition. Since it has such a big front lens (95mm), the UV haze filters can be expensive. It was great to have one available right away to protect the lens even if I decide to buy a higher quality UV filter in the future. The two San Disk 64G SD cards were a major bonus and the Vivitar backpack is very flexible and can be set up for lots of different equipment layouts. Im not sure if I want to try the monopod with this lens, its just too big, but the monopod will be a nice option for when Im shooting with smaller lenses. Im not sure yet how to use the Sigma dock to make adjustments to the lens, but it should be nice to have some way to fine tune things without having to send the lens back to the manufacturer. Overall this is a good buy on a quality lens from a reputable manufacturer. Ill update this review after Ive had a chance to do some significant field testing.

I was unable to produce clear photographs with the Sigma 150-600 mounted on a Canon EOS T2i. I initially planned to use the lens to document observations of Bald Eagles nests. I previously relied on a Canon 75-300 with some success, but hoped the Sigma 150-600 would provide more detailed images, especially as spring progressed and foliage made it more challenging to get a good shot. The "reviews" I read before purchasing the lens extolled the virtues of the auto-focus functions. Didnt work well for me at any distance. I tried combinations starting with full auto to complete manual. I tried duplicating the ISO, shutter speed and aperture settings of successful pictures I took with the Canon 75-300 from the same vantage point with the same subject. I tried the lens with and without a tripod and a monopod. I tried manually triggering the shutter and a remote shutter. I tried taking pictures of the dogwood in front of the house, testing with a matrix of auto-focus, image stabilization, focal point settings, etc. No dice. I finally sat in the backyard about 70 feet from the bird feeders at 11:30 AM on a sunny day alternating between the Canon 75-300 and the Sigma 150-600 focusing on the same subjects using auto-focus. The Canon produced the sharper images. I gave up. I returned the camera to the vendor. I did not have the original packing material and they refunded $802 of the $939 purchase price.

Great solution for this focal range. Solidly built though a little heavy. Have used both handheld and on a monopod with good results. Monopod included in the package worked fine. I am using the Vivitar UV filter and it appears not to affect sharpness of the lens. Camera bag included in the package is nice but too small to really be used with this lens. Would highly recommend this lens.

Many places sell the lens only for this price. This comes with several items that I need. The usb dock is a must with this lens anyway. The autofocus is slightly slower than my ultrafast 300mm from canon. But will do fine in wildlife photography. Ive used it for 2 weeks now and love it.

This product is insane. The images I’m able to capture and the built in OS are upping my photography game to the next level. I have only spent three days with it but have captured some amazing shots which I will include some. The only issue I have with it is it’s heavy, really heavy. But it’s worth it for the images you get. I could not recommend this product enough.

I love the lens the only thing that bothers me is sometimes the auto focus does not kick in or if you are taking a picture of an Eagle flying in the sky it first will focus but the next picture you go to take it looses the focus. I am still getting used to this lens but so far the pictures have been very good quality.

I bought a auto focus 150 -600mm zoom lens. I have been trying it out on my tripod. So far I like it a lot. Came with some accessories that are useful for me. I am a casual photographer and I am not disappointed. I would recommend this item.

Great Lens for the price! Also the shipping came so much faster than I expected. With the variable aperture the f-stop obviously poor low light performance.

So far this lens has been amazing, the focus is actually quicker than I thought it would be, smooth action and quiet motor. Hopefully my images speak of the greatness of the 150-600mm lens.
