This lens is a wonderful alternative to the Canon L series of lenses. I own an L series lens, and have used several other L series lenses for work. They are solid, and perform great. I just wasnt in the mood to spend another $1,000 for a lens, but wanted a versatile mid-telephoto lens to work and play with. Ive used the lens for a variety of things so far, including studio work (product photography) and even landscapes. It has performed well in all scenarios. The build quality of the lens is very solid. The autofocus is spot on. Images are tack sharp. Color rendition is great and chromatic aberration is essentially a non-issue. The image stabilization is sufficient, but I hardly use it since I almost always use a tripod. It does function well, however. Ive owned other aftermarket lenses (mainly Rokinon, when I was a Nikon shooter), but this was my first lens from Sigma. Given my experience with this product, I would definitely feel confident purchasing another lens from Sigma.

Awesome lens. Wish I would have bought it sooner. Great detail and it’s perfect with my Canon 80D.

I did a lot of research, and read most of your reviews and glad I went with the Sigma. Lens quality is outstanding, and the sharpness is superb. The lens is a bit heavy but manageable.

Magnificent lens, Way better than Canons macro, and if you have the adapter, form, Sigma 1.4mm to Canon Cameras its like having an extra micro Lens ,,,,,cropped Canon lens have a 1.6 crop unless you have a FULL FRAME and that still increases your Macro setting for 105mm-to 168mm,,,,,,,and for Cropped lens its the Sigma 1.4mm to Canon with this you can get your Marcos to 147mm- to with the 1.4 extended a = 210mm

This lens works great. It is a little loud when you use the auto focus. When the camera is not attached to a body, some of the components seem to rattle and move around, but I have had no issues with it because of this. Photos are all crisp and amaze me everytime I use this lens.

I have only taken about 100 pictures with the lens, but I find it very good. I am strictly an amateur so I rate it on how the images look to me. Indoors I took both portrait and macro images. I liked the bokeh in the portrait images. The macro images of coins were taken with a tripod which I would always recommend using. The 1:1 image is fantastic. I can hardly wait for spring to photo flowers and insects with it.

Great lens! I like the feel of the focus ring action. It doesnt slip so much when pointed downward as other brands will. the lens in general has a nice quality feel to it. Images always come out clear.

I found this lens to be very quick, accurate and nearly silent in focusing. The color quality was excellent with no fringing or color distortion. The stabilization was very accurate and the image sharp and stable even though there has been conditions where the camera was not able to stay steady. I have had absolutely no problems with this lens. I can recommend this lens to anyone looking for a lens in this range wholeheartedly.

This thing is amazing. It beats any Canon L lenses Ive ever used.
